also like the color, but owning a 1:1 1983 944, the motor and suspension is blasphemous..... I've worked on and off combining the US bumpers from a Monogram 924 to the Testors Italeri kit to replicate my ride. Finding cookie cutter wheels was the big draw back and hold up. I finally did locate a Revell 911 kit that had them. Now, I have to finish mine. White over black.

Very cool project. Looking forward to this one.

I've got several Fujimi 911 kits in my stash, as the 911 is a personal favorite of mine. All of the Fujimi kits have one major glaring error though..... the wheel well openings are ever so slightly flat topped, and the real car is not. Another companies version that I can highly recommend, though simple in execution, is the Monogram coupe and slant nose cabriolets. Best looking 911 kits out there. Lets also not forget all of the great racing variants. Here Fujimi and Tamiya lead the way.

Welcome from another Pittsburgher. Grew up there, but now I live in Illinois. Still miss the Burgh.

Is your hood warped? Or is there something keeping the right side corner from closing.....

Actually, they do go on the hood. A second pair is needed for the lower rear quarter panels. Here are the parts needed, B tree 25: And here is the instruction sheet and the aftermarket decals for the Le Mans entry:- 125 replies

I can always use extra fender flairs. Thanks. What I need though are the narrow louvers that were included in the kit. I'll try to post a picture of what I am referring to over the course of the week end.- 125 replies

I built this so long ago I don't remember any fitment issues with the hood. Please describe your problem to perhaps jog my memory. Was it a tight side to side fit, or a clearance issue?

Red and white Denso Zard. I've not built the kit yet as I need to come up with another pair of the fender louver pieces contained in the kit as they are located on the rear fenders as well.- 125 replies

Yes, the kit supplied grill does read 16V, but the motor is the standard 8V 1.8 L four. I WISH the kit had correctly modeled the Valvoline racer, but ah well. Fujimi's MK 2 GTI has the coke bottle hubcap wheels of the 1:1 car. I'm thinking of swapping them in as I think the wheels I used look a tad bit big.

I'm Liking this. Here is the one I built..... Keep up the good work

I'm loving it. This is a very cool car. I have the other Tamiya release to built the Le Mans version I got special decals years ago for. An American Driver, Jeff Krosnof (SP) drove the car.- 125 replies

The Best Car Ever Tested?
IMSANUT replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Consumer reports, by and large, has to be taken with a grain of salt. In years past, the chief editor for the publication said, and I quote, "people do not read our publication for information, but rather entertainment." Having been involved in the retail of audio and video equipment for close to a decade and a half beginning in the late 70's, I can say with some measure of fact that many of their "reviews" of hi-fi equipment bordered on ridiculous, and bore little reality in how a product actually sounded, let alone how reliable, or more oft not, unreliable it was. I have 0% faith in anything they write. -
Hard to argue the beauty of the Astons, especially the Zagato. I'd sure love to return to Road Atlanta. I was there once for the 91 IMSA race. I'd love to make Petite Le Mans some day.

acting lessons for the bad actor I NEED YOUR opinion on a hood
IMSANUT replied to lazlow's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Stock hood with filled NACA ducts. And the Vette bumpers up front will look cool. I've always liked this kit from a styling exercise point. I have one on the shelf. Haven't decided on how to build mine, box stock for an easy win, or kit bash with a Revell 59 Impala kit...... -
Wonderful photos of some very significant motorcars. I especially like the Tiger LM coupe. Vintage road race events are exciting events. It is a special thing to see the cars of our youth run in anger as they were meant to be. I've attended the vintage event at Road America several times. Once saw three of the five Corvette Grand Sports parked side by side there. And there is nothing like the sound of a dozen or so Can Am ground pounder's taking the green flag on the main straight, or the sound of a Ferrari V12 F1 car running through the fears on the Kettle Moraine Striaght to get ones pulse pounding. I love it. Thanks so much for posting these classic racers for us Matt.

Good to hear. Might I request that the spoiler be a separate piece rather than molded to the body? It would make what I'd want to d a whole lot easier. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing the progress!!!

It's a Revell kit from the tuners series.

Welcome and cograts on two great builds and the trophy to boot! Keep plugging away.

Had I looked closer, or for that matter, consulted with the racing kit on my shelf, I'd have noticed that. Sometimes my powers of observation are a weeeee bit off

Looking very cool. Looks like it would be easy to convert this to an IMSA spect GTU car as well. What are you planning on charging for this?
-
Nice build. I have one of these kits on the to do pile as an SCCA racer. Nice kit indeed.
-
Cool build. Where did the Honda V8 come from? That'd be one handful of a car!!!

I love club and vintage racers. Were the tow loops with the kit? They look huge.
