Nice indeed! I saw this car up close and personal at Road Atlanta in 91. Very cool looking car. BTW, a friend of mine from England is offering the earlier version of this car in 1/24th resin as a trans kit for the Hasegawa 962. It is a much cleaned up repop of the old Umi kit of a long time ago. He will also be offering this body a bit later this year. As I understand it, he will be offering decals for the first version from Daytona, and Sunoco decals for the later body style. I offered him my original Umi kit to use as the remaster. I cannot wait to see the later version arrive at my door.....

There is a resin cast kit in 1/24th available from England. Nice curbside sans decals, but they are available from Patto's in Australia.

Sadly they do not. might make a good starting point though, I also think this is a very clean build. Crisp execution!

A great build of an early 911. I really like this one!

Superb recreation of the Cobra's first win. I have much of what is needed for this build as well. I was unaware of the availability of the brake scoops though. Must get those as well as the wheels. What brand and shade of red did you use?

I just saw this trans kit on Straba Sports site the other day. Looks very cool indeed.

Welcome, and wonderful builds! Pretty exceptional skills for a 16 year old!

Couldn't have put it any better. And for what it is worth, my comments were not intended to put a negative light on the build!!!

I love em both as well. Here's to WISHING Revell would update the Roush kit doe these two in 1/25th............... Easier said than done...I've tried. Perhaps I need to try again.....!

Ain't that the truth!

Thanks for the info! I did some searching this evening, and found the yellow was actually a Corvette color, Sunrise Yellow. Another question, was it a single carb 289, or a twin carb 289 like the 67 Cougars......

This is all timely for myself, as I have just begun the collecting of pieces to replicate one of the Shelby 67 coupes, the Terlingua Racing Team car. It is valuable information contained in this post, that I really am thankful for. One question I have as of yet not had answered, is what shade of yellow were the Terlingua Mustang's painted..... Again, Thanks!!!

The Tamiya kit is heads and shoulders above the Revell kit as far as detail and accuracy are concerned. It gets my highest marks. That said, the Revell kit does build up nicely, but is not the "end all" as far as Bug kits are concerned.

I am doinf this car in the same color to go along with an aftermarket set of decals to replicate the ROHR PSCR GTi car that ran at Daytona. The eye searing yellow is accompanied by purple, green and red. Here is a link to a web page with a bunch of good pictures: http://www.google.com/search?q=Rohr+Porsche+GT1&hl=en&tbo=u&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=OwP3UNrDC8WiqwHXzYDwDg&ved=0CDUQsAQ&biw=1180&bih=574

A recent purchase on Ebay brought back a flood of positive memories from child hood. I scored a rebox of two Heller single seat Formula racers with awesome box art. As an early builder, I was heavily influenced by the box art of many kits. AMT's was some of the best, as was much of Tamiya's. Now, at 55 years of age, box art of current kits does not influence my purchases, though I still love the art of the older stuff. Nowadays, the box is merely a storage place for the parts.....

Nice build of a cool subject.

New from Tamiya - 1/24 Jagermeister Porsche 934 Turbo RSR

This is awesome news! Hopefully, it will be a full detail kit. The old Esci kit is, well, old..... I'll be getting several of these, as the aftermarket will surely do a whole score of decal sheets, hopefully some IMSA sheets. -
The Tamiya Testa Rossa is a curbside.

I cannot speak on the Fujimi, but I can say the Revellogram kit is very nice.
-
Yep, all came with it. Now that I know there is interest in this one, I'll get some picks posted in a similar fashion of the BMW, Jag and Porsche along with the Patto's decals I have secured for them. The Bimmer and Jag will be considerably more work in that I'll have to scratch an interior and curbside chassis for them.

It is plastic, except of course for the photo etch bits. I have been messing with it a bit, mostly checking out the fit. Right now I am slightly stumped with the interior bucket from the Revell kit, and the fit of the roll cage. I am deep into a couple of other builds, but this is high on the priority list for certain. I am pleased that there is interest..... good to know I am not alone in the building of cool road racers!

I special ordered all of the bodies I've got. They brought in multiples of the first three, and added them to their site. I guess they have not done the same with the Audi. I am sure that if you sent them a note, they'd be happy to order you one. As I said, these folks are very nice people. I recommend them highly.
