  1. I'm fortunate to have a hobby shop 10 miles away, and also 40 & 50 miles away that carries just about whatever I need. My local 1/2 mile away Hobby Lobby does not carry the Evergreen products either. I guess you will have to order it online.
  2. At your local hobby shops as there are a lot of Evergreen strips, rods, tubing that I have on hand for whenever I need to make something for the build I'm workin' on.
  3. The Lindberg '64 Color Me Gone Dodge kit is a great parts kit as it has a lot of Super Stock parts that can be used on other builds. I have 3 or 4 of them in my stash just for that purpose.
  4. '64 GTO's, '65 GTO's, '65 442's, etc. according to my reference book.
  5. Redline tires came about in the mid-60's, say '64 or '65.
  6. Wow that's some project and lookin' REAL good.
  7. A special thanks to Michael and Casey for keeping this forum running smoothly.
  8. Yes Caravan Tours, as we just got back from another Caravan tour a couple of weeks ago, our third one. Call: 800-227-2826 and ask them to send you their catalog. It cost you NOTHING to receive it and look at it.
  9. We, my better half and two other couples took a "motor coach tour" along with 40 other people in June of last year that started in Pheonix, then Sedona, Grand Canyon, Trading Post, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Bryce, Zion, and then ended in Las Vegas. It was a good trip, but record setting heat, as I wish we had gone in early May but the other couples had plans and couldn't get away at that time. Sedona is a really nice town and I would love to go back there.
  10. There's an old saying that says you "get what you pay for."
  11. I haven't seen them at my local Hobby Lobby, but I picked mine up at my local hobby shop and have seen them for sale at a swap meet last weekend also.
  12. I do very little mail ordering as I really like the "brick & mortar"" hobby shops as I've been goin' to them since the mid 50's. I like to talk to people and I like to hold the model boxes and check out the box art on all 5 sides. I like to look at the displays of paint racks and even displays of photo-etched and aftermarket parts too. In other words I support my local hobby shop. I also share a Lionel train set with my grandson at Christmas time and if my locomotive needs any repairs, or I need any advice I know that my hobby shop owners will be more than happy to help me and to answer any questions that I may have.
  13. I used to go to that show and it was always a good time. Also liked to visit Big Four Hobbies when I was out that way too. I no longer like long car rides and the hobby shop is long gone. Just hangin' out locally and doing the shows that are close (1-1 1/2 hrs.) by.
  14. I ordered the pin striping decals for the sides of the '70 Charger from Keith Marks the other day. Maybe when I get them, it'll inspire me to open and build my Charger kit. The decals come in black, white, or red.
  15. Wow Keith, I'm likin' that Charger and excellent color choice as well. I just love dem Mopars!
  16. Lookin' good Steve as I just love dem Mopars! BTW, are you related to Tom Lima Jr. or no?
  17. Very nice build on that A Roadster.
  18. Uh-oh, time to move some walls already???
  19. Huh? It's YOUR house too. We bought a 4 bedroom house some 20+ years ago and I claimed one of the rooms for my hobby room/den and I still have it.
  20. I thought so too as I've been retired for over 10 years and my building didn't go up dramatically. I'm very busy and I'm not really bored at all. I don't always use my time wisely, as that is a contributing factor in why I don't get more models built. I'm not a couch potato and TV nut, however I do watch TV in the evenings. I also have other interests besides model car building, as well as being busy around the house.
  21. I'm lucky enough to have enough model kits in my "stash" to keep me in plastic for the rest of my life, especially at the rate I finish them. Therefore I don't really care what the model companies make anymore if any at all. I know that there are several or more members that have hundreds or thousands of kits in their stash, and they want this kit or that kit. Are they really model builders or just kit collectors? Frankly I'm tired of tying up my ca$h for plastic as I really need to build more and buy less.
  22. With Modelhaus gone the hobby is still here and will continue for awhile, even if a few more after market companies drop out also.
  23. That place is a real zoo when they have their annual parts sale. I really don't need any more parts, kits, paint, etc. only more motivation.
  24. I just heard this past weekend that a rather large hobby shop that carries lots of MCG items is having a problem getting more stuff from them.
