  1. Nice job on that gasser, real nice.
  2. That buggy came out lookin' good and hopefully some day soon I'll start mine.
  3. I had that situation when building the Batmobile and the decals especially for the dashboard were really small. I ended up holding the decals with tweezers in the water and near the location, then using a toothpick to slide them into position.
  4. As a BIG gasser fan, I like your build and the key word you mentioned was FUN! That's all that counts in my book.
  5. Sounds good Tom, but I always clear my paint jobs and I always use clear on the tape edges before the second color is applied. If it should bleed through, it would bleed clear.
  6. Say what? You're NEVER too old to be buildin' models period!
  7. Real nice build on that Aerosedan and I'm lookin' forward to Galaxie's Coupe to being released in the future.
  8. I had built that kit last year and don't remember any real problems with it. It's probably best that you go on to something else for now.
  9. Nothin' on TV tonight so I popped in the DVD of Tokyo Drift and it's still a good movie in my book.
  10. I've been retired for awhile now and love it. If I managed my time more carefully I would get more modeling done. LOL! I hope you have an enjoyable retirement.
  11. That's why I spray when my better half is at work.
  12. Welcome to the forum Mario and we hope to see some of your models soon. Yeah, I know that work comes first.
  13. Congrats and good luck!
  14. I would try 5-minute epoxy.
  15. Interesting news as well as good news. While the Fast & Furious movies are not great movies, they DO make money, lots of it.
  16. Prepare the body? I usually wait one day after the color coat, lightly run a tack rag over it, and then start mist coats of heated clear from a rattlecan with 20 minute intervals. after 2 mist coats I spray on one wet coat and let the paint "gas out" for a week or two before using polishing cloths to polish out the clear.
  17. A pin vise and drill bits are the easiest way. "Back-in-the-day" we used to heat up a straight pin over an open flame to use to make holes in the head or valve covers for spark plug wires which were made of sewing thread pulled through wax to get rid of the fuzz.
  18. I have about three of those mags somewhere. I do remember getting caught in class with those mags inside my open textbook though on a few occasions. Maybe that's why my teacher signed my yearbook, to "Nick the Rod?"
  19. I use Devcon 5-minute epoxy which comes in two parts and it is great as it dries clear and bonds strong. I also like it as I can glue wires, guitar string, and different material to plastic. I've been using it for years and sure it's a bit pricey and there's a lot of waste, but when I take my models to a club meeting, contest, or model show, I don't have to bring a repair kit.
  20. This is my "daily driver" as when I bought it I was using it for work and getting paid for it as well. Now that I'm retired I use it to get around as well as hauling material, plants, bushes, dirt, mulch, furniture, and whatever. <a href="http://s818.photobucket.com/user/itsagas1320/media/Dodge/DSC03034_zps96f3b587.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz104/itsagas1320/Dodge/DSC03034_zps96f3b587.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSC03034_zps96f3b587.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://s818.photobucket.com/user/itsagas1320/media/Dodge/DSC03035_zps7964ffc4.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz104/itsagas1320/Dodge/DSC03035_zps7964ffc4.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSC03035_zps7964ffc4.jpg"/></a>
  21. While I have two air-brushes and a compressor, I haven't used them in 12 years or so. I use "rattlecans" and get good results with them. Just "shake & spray."
  22. Sounds good Andy as I'll be lookin' forward to meetin' you. It's always on the first Friday of the month.
  23. The AMG club of Wisconsin, will be meeting this Friday (June7th) at the Waterstone Bank at 6560 S. 27th Street, Oak Creek, Wisconsin from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.
  24. Wishing you a SPEEEEEDY recovery.
