  1. Donn I have heard that many builders like to shoot clear over the decals on their builds to protect them. Protect them from what I don't know, maybe rain, snow, hail, sleet, or even wind damage? As for handling the models, how often does one handle their model cars once they're built? To each their own.
  2. I picked up one of those Tall T kits in Toledo as well as Revell's '59 Chevy convertible, but I haven't opened either kit as I only open about 30% of the kits that I have. Don't remember if I opened one of the other "chopped" T kits either. Maybe I have the CRS syndrome?
  3. EXCELLENT job on that Texaco station so far as it really looks good!
  4. Do any of you guys vent your spray booth fumes to the attic or the roof vent? TIA
  5. Nice builds Ken, both of them. The Landy car looks good and I just LOVE the black Willys!
  6. Do you have Hobby Lobby's in Canada? The one by me carries a great selection of Testors Lacquers.
  7. Great photos Gerry as I have been to that show a couple of times and had my car there at the D & M Show in the spring of last year.
  8. What EXCELLENT workmanship and engineering!
  9. I may have to go with M&H slicks from Ma's Resin although they're not quite 12" as is the size I'm lookin' for.
  10. That T-Bolt looks really nice and clean.
  11. I thought the reason I go to model car shows is because they draw me into them like a magnet and SUCK all the money out of my pockets for stuff that I don't really need???
  12. Is there a spring show also, and if so when is it as I may be visiting Charleston next spring. Are there any good hobby shops that are worth visiting? Thanks.
  13. Hey BigTruck, I remember you when we worked at the Goodguys Model Car Contest a few years back with Dean. Good to hear from you as I haven't seen you at the DuPage swaps lately.
  14. Are you kidding Harry, we're stuck with what's at the bottom of the barrel!
  15. The Jo-Han '70 Roadrunner and the AMT '59 Lincoln Continental convertible kits are my "holy grail" kits that I would like to obtain someday.
  16. I sent an e-mail to Revell as to whether this was a re-issue in 1/24th scale or if it was to be in 1/25th scale and no response yet. At least with Round 2 they respond immediatelly.
  17. While I don't know for sure, maybe Moebius is waiting to see how sales are going on their two new releases and also the Chrysler 300 before comitting to anymore releases??? What do you think?
  18. Kris, I did stop by your table and bought some distributors and magnetos and I should have introduced myself. D'oh!
  19. I saw the website awhile back and some of the tutorials and it is an excellent site that can be helpful to many modelers, check it out.
  20. That looks great Dave and so does the rest of the engine and engine bay details.
  21. Andy, it's not a stupid suggestion and I do have a few sets of the newly released AMT M&H Parts Packs, but they are smaller slicks and not as wide as 12" slicks would be. Thanks for your input.
  22. The builder on that "Stude" is non other than: The Danbury Mint.
  23. Does anyone know of a resin caster that makes M&H 12" drag slicks? Thanks.
  24. I haven't been to the hobby show for several years now and I only live about 45 minutes from the exhibition hall where it's held. The show has been dwindling over the years as there is less and less interest in plastic modeling as it was in its "heyday" in the 50's & 60's. I don't want to have to pay for gas, parking, and admission to see just several booths or displays that interest me. The show used to be great ten or more years ago, but it's changed quite a bit since then. There are fewer kids that want to build plastic models, build scale railroads, and that are into R/C as times have been changing for a long time now and I don't believe that there is ANYTHING that can revive the plastic modeling industry as it seems as though it is just "bumping" along.
  25. I was at the Toledo NNL & Swap Meet this past weekend and picked up Round 2's re-issue of the Tall T, Revell's new '59 Chevy convertible, Lindberg's LRW and Color Me Gone kits for parts, Revell's Spad XIII, some resin parts from Modelhaus & Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland, some pre-wired distributors and magnetos from M.A.D., and a couple of kits for a friend of mine.
