Yes, still waiting for 210 here. Hoping it’s not a repeat of #209. As I said elsewhere, I get the impression that our respective postal services forget that a magazine is a bought and paid for item that is just as important to the purchaser as a box from eBay or Amazon or whoever. They seem to treat magazines like they are flyers from KMart or Michaels or something.

Round 2 December Spotlight?

Thanks, Chris! I was telling the video "What about the wheels and tires? You forgot the wheels and tires!" I guess we'll find out when they hit the market. -

Round 2 December Spotlight?
peter31a replied to Michael in Illinois's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I jumped right to the model section of the video. I saw a wheel and tire set that I think he forgot to mention. Did I miss it earlier on or did he keep piling stuff in front of the set and then he forgot it? -
Looking mighty fine so far, Bill. Jumping back into building by doing this much scratchbuilding is truly inspirational.

Cool! I picked two of those vans, yesterday as well and a Mooneyes dragster for good measure.

Thanks, Dave. After waiting another couple of weeks, I’ve been getting help from Dave Ambrose. I’m good until issue 214 so 209 is lost in the vast postal system of our 2 countries. We are sorting it out.

Still waiting for 209. I sent an inquiry through the magazine website for subscription questions just to make sure I'm still good and it was the post office gone awry. Waiting to hear back as to my subscription status.

I was really looking forward to coming to the show when your government announced that they were opening the border on November 8. Unfortunately our government is insisting on a pricey Covid 19 test to get back home. At $150 to $300 for the test, well, it’s just not going to happen. Look forward to seeing you next year.

No, not yet as I still assume it’s the post office’s fault. I just can’t believe that the magazine can get to another continent but can’t reach an address on the same continent. Guys were buying them in store about 2 to 3 weeks ago (here in Canada). But as a subscriber I’m at the mercy of the post office. And at this time magazines are extremely low priority for them. That’s why I’m grumbling that I won’t see this new issue until January as magazines will have even lower priority during holiday parcel rush time. I’m not blaming anyone associated with the magazine, I’m kvetching about the postal services in our respective countries that don’t give a hoot about getting an item that you’ve bought and paid for, even as insignificant as a magazine, delivered to you.

Wow! That looks sharp! Now I have 2 magazines to look forward to getting. 209 and this one. At the rate 209 is taking, I guess I won't see this one until after January 1, 2022.

O.K. Now I'm starting to worry. Three quarters of the way through October and issue 209 still hasn't shown up here. I blame the post office but 2 months is getting rather ridiculous. Hopefully it shows up soon.

William Shatner to take off into space at 1000
peter31a replied to SfanGoch's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
If the human race keeps expanding and more and more we use up earth’s resources, we’ll have to look to space for resources to keep this planet going. While all this looks like expensive fun, hopefully one day it will lead to an ability to keep this planet and her people going. As Captain Kirk used to say “Space, the final frontier”. Welcome back to Earth, Captain. -
So sorry to hear this news. Just know him from the board, (although we probably crossed paths at NNL East without knowing it), but always appreciated his contributions here. Condolences to his family and friends.

Don’t worry not here in central Ontario either.

What did you see on the road today?

Bill, I suspect you could get in the car. It’s the getting out that would be the challenge! ? -
I wanna grow up and be a weatherperson.......
peter31a replied to HomerS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Yes, I've said the same thing many times. The one that stands out in my mind was about 10 years ago. We were having a lawn sale and the weatherman at the local t.v. station said absolutely no rain in the forecast for Saturday. Dry, dry, dry. The local radio station said the same thing. The weather network said the same thing. So, of course, I didn't bother digging any tarps out to cover stuff in case of rain. About an hour into to the sale, the skies got dark and it started to rain. I thought it must just be a quick cloud burst because there was no chance of rain. But it kept raining so there was a mad scramble to find tarps. It ended up raining for over 2+ hours! How can you get it that wrong? -
Ordering from Hobbylinc.com
peter31a replied to plasticprime's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The op asked about hobbylinc which is an American company. If he meant hobby link japan, it is not clear as he’s used the spelling for the American shop. -
Received my copy today in central Ontario, Canada. Probably had arrived Thursday or Friday but haven’t checked the community mailbox in a couple of days due to inclement weather. Took a quick look through it. Seems like a real spiffy issue.

Yes, I'm getting the same thing on my iPad. The board is fine on my MacBook but on the iPad It's pushed to the side. Of course I always hold the iPad horizontally, not vertically like a phone when the web. Don't know if that makes any difference.

Well, he was driving a loaner from Hyundai. He was commentator at a golf tournament being presented by Genesis (high end Hyundai) and had use of the vehicle. I'm sure the company was willing to co-operate with investigators to find out why one of their brand new cars went flying off into the trees.
