  1. If you check the Model Car Garage PE set for the 66, it does have almost all of what you're seeking. Can't quite tell what the last emblem is?

  3. Off the top of my head, the Revell 32 Fords with the Small Block Ford V8 has one. Called a Pump in the instructions, Part Number 70. The Revell 66 Chevy has the AC Delco style, part number 30 AMT 68 El Camino has one, part number 10 Other model car kits have different styles. More modern GM engines have the rotary AC compressor. Late version 62 AMT TBird has the Ford piston version.

  5. You can get the Cosworth Vega engine and wheels from Canuck 3D, in the USA it would be through Geroge Bojaciuk (who posts on this forum). I have those parts and they are excellent quality. Got the decals from Keith Marks (I believe). This is the base kit I'm using
  6. Before moving back to Washington state, a club I belonged to in Illinois did a bulk order so folks wanting only one or two parts could benefit. We had a focal point collect and make the order then distribute it to the parties in the order. A tad of work, but helpful to those of more limited means. For me, I build up an order for myself and go as big as I can. That was especially true when a lot of the Ferrari focused parts were available from Norm.

  8. Just to relate what kind of person Norm is, he contacted me recently when he read my write up on Custom 48 Ford. In that, I had mentioned the grilles being rubbery. He wanted to know about any other problems there may have been and see about digging out the mold to recast. This was on a product that is almost 30 years old. I have interacted with him for years, but never actually met him. Yet, he was willing to try to help out because of who he is. I declined the offer as I have found out that the grille is very similar to a 41 Lincoln. I happen to have an unbuilt Monogram kit on the shelf and, sure enough, with some surgery it can be made to work. The Monogram kit is now a parts kit (everything there but the grilles). I have scads of his product, including the Ferrari pieces he did years back. And I will continue to order from him until the day he decides to hang it up. A GENTLEMAN, pure and simple.
  9. Okay. This is getting a little crazy. I happen to have Norm's latest (2024) catalog in PDF form. I ran it through my editor and got each page as a JPG file and they are here attached.
  10. I checked an AMT 49 Mercury kit in my stash and they are in there. Even have the Weiand logo. Not sure what Mopar engine is in the kit, but the valve covers are there

  13. That is the technique I used. Closest to actual texture I've seen on the 1:1's. Color depends on what the effect is to be.

  15. Sure sounds like it. I'd ping Jameston with the info you provided and any photos you might be to take and get his advice.
  16. I use a Helping Hand base with a single alligator clip. I then use a wood clothes pin to cradle the transmission. I will attach the clothes pin to the alligator clip. This allows me to rotate/adjust the engine as necessary for detailing. I then paint the trans. For engines with transmissions (rear transaxles), I will use a bamboo skewer and insert into a hole with white glue (so I can break the bond and clean it up). If the torque tube is attached to the engine (think C5-C6 vettes) the clothes pin will grasp that.

  18. Rather than piecemeal feed the details, why not start again and describe where you are at and what the base color of the model is? It is beginning to seem that you have a dark color plastic (perhaps blue) that you applied a white primer to? Or?
  19. About 27 years ago, I purchased this resin kit from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland. I thought it a very interesting custom and the first “full” resin kit I ever acquired. The resin model is a Juha Airio design. Originally intending to get at soon after purchase, it sat on the shelf all these years, including two cross country moves due to job. I finally pulled it off the shelf early last year and decided to get to it. With more resin experience, mainly upgrade parts, bodies and transkits, I felt a lot more confident to give it a go. The kit has the body, interior and most of the chassis. I needed to supply the engine, some suspension components, wheels, tires, trim, and detail. This era of automobile is not my sweet spot, but given the customs seen at car shows and in media, this looked like a sleek example. The only design element I did not totally like was the front headlight treatment. I looked at doing alternatives, including 37 Ford and BMW Mini front lamps. But the required surgery was more than I wanted to undertake with this. Also in the build plan, I decided to not go to the full modern approach with hidden engine bay components. The body required minimal cleanup. There was a bit of warpage that I did not recollect when getting the kit. I am attributing that to the length of time it sat plus the two long distance moves. The other strange thing is that the front grilles were rubbery (and were not originally). I tried to correct as best I could and used Super Glue to try to keep it set. I still think I may eventually seek another option. Made a couple of mods to the interior, adding some Evergreen half round on the door cards and then some wood decals for extra visual effect (although hardly visible). Also added same wood decals on the dashboard plus BMF for the vents. For the carpeting, I masked off the areas not to be carpeted and then sprayed Krylon Stone Texture Paint. The color I chose gave a mottled brown color that looked right for what I wanted. I appropriated the aftermarket big and little tires from a Revell 69 Camaro kit. Wheels are 3D printed from Off the Sprue. I cleaned up the chassis and added disc brakes all around. I then ran brake and fuel lines and finally parking brake lines. Detail Master and Off the Sprue fittings were used for connections. For the engine, I selected a Big Block Chevy from the AMT 68 El Camino (the chassis is based on that and it is an easy fit. Morgan Automotive Detail Distributor along with Model Car Garage wire looms, Parts by Parks pulleys and other parts were used in detailing. The engine bay did not have any radiator core and bracing, so I had to craft those. The “fun” part is that the way the kit is structured, the body needs to be fully assembled so that can be accomplished. I did a rough fit/plan out but couldn’t complete until everything in place. The exterior color is Testors Inca Gold coated with their Wet Look Clear. At the last minute I added the metallic stripe for some extra zest. The tape is usually used for fingernail art. I acquired a set of tapes to use on another model and decided this would be a good addition.

  21. Hope so. Looks like only the C8 coupe is in their release plan for 2024 at this time. They did show a convertible test shot as well (can't remember what event)
