  1.

    Hello,

Just read your post under the IPMS Nationals Kit topic.  You asked the question "why no 68 Coronet R/T".  I've been asking that question as well.  It's a very highly requested kit.  With all the 3D protoyping and reverse engineering of kits happening there is no reason why it can't come out.  I just recently emailed Round 2 about re-releasing the MPC 68 Coronet R/T kit.  I sent them a proposal for doing the kit.

Here is their email address.  Please  email them make a request.  If there are other people you know that build Mopar models, pass this email address to them so they can make a request.  The more people that do this the better the chance that Round 2 will listen and do a release.   The Round 2 email address is below.

  2. He probably found them at model kit swap meets.
  3. Looking forward to this one. I ask myself; do I like the box art more than what's inside. Love how Round 2 is using the back in the day box art. Much better than plain pic of a car in front of a plain background.
  4. Very good points raised here but as far as keeping product in Hobby Lobby and brick and mortar hobby shop shelves; Round 2 seems to have taken a different direction. They are reviving old kits for the nostalgia builders ,those that built kits back in the day; ie, Craftsman kits (Chevy ll Wagon, 64 Cutlass convt, etc.) The Cutlass kit is already in Hobby Lobby. I ask ,how many of the younger, occasional builder types are going to buy that AMT 64 Cutlass convt at Hobby Lobby? Probably a very small percentage. Because, they don't know what that modelling subject is. In reference to the person wanting to see a retool of the 71 Roadrunner and 72 Ventura; I think we are going to see those and other surprises come out.
  5. I agree and the concensus on this board is that we different things that haven't seen the light of day in over 50 years. I beleive Round 2 has started this process and they are listening. 3D printing and reverse engineering tooling is is starting to be common place ie; newly released Chevy ll wagon, 64 Cutlass convt and soon to be re64 Cutlass hardtop. We just need to keep writing in and emailing Round 2 our requests.
  6. Excellant. Looking forward to getting this one. When is shipping to the distributers taking place?
  7. In reference to the Salvino's JR modified; that's a done deal. That's an exclusive through Wes's Model Car Corner. He is heading that up. That release will be the early part of 2022. He was also involved with the Salvino's JR 1971 Dodge Charger no decal stock car kit exclusive. Same type of deal that the Model King did with Round 2 and is currently doing with Moebius.
  8. This is good news. Round 2 is digging real deep and getting these old original kits out again.
  9. Anyone know if Round 2 is reverse engineering the Californian from an existing kit or is being produced from existing tooling? Maybe a question for Tim Boyd or Casey.
  10. Absolutely!!
  11. Sorry I never answered your question. I would give Duplicolor engine enamel clear a try. When I clear my bodies the foiled scripts shimmer very well.
  12. Here is the August 2021 Round 2 product video.
  13. Have you considered airbrushing with Molotow?
  14. Saw the announcement about this on Wes's Model Car Corner video meeting Thursday night. It's an exclusive with Salvino's and a couple other model car kit sellers. This was a also done with the recently released 1971 and 1973 Dodge Charger stock car kits.
  15. I would contact Atlantis directly and ask them.
  16. Check your local Hobby Lobby. The one near me stocks Atlantis kits.
  17. Is this just a reissue of the drag car Polar Lights Mr. Norms car that was a out a few years ago, but with the Hot Wheels theme?
  18. No tilt wheels on Coronets.
  19. I don't build dragsters. Looking at the parts that will be included ; looks like I will be getting this one. Could be a good seller. Anyone else agree?
  20. Box art or not I'll probably be buying one. Box art is not make or break thing for me.
  21. In reference to your last sentence; I think sooner or later we will see the 68 Coronet come out again. Like the 64 Cutlass and 63 Nova wagon were the molds/tooling was either refurbished or reingineered for those to come out, I beleive the same thing can be done and will be done for the Coronet to be back. Are you asking too much? I seriously doubt it. Round 2 sees the success Cutlass and Nova wagons and will probably follow suite with other oldies that we have not seen in decades.
  22. Anyone going to turn their reissue 64 Cutlass kit into the Streaker drag car.?
  23. Someone recently mentioned about using the frame and chassis from the AMT 66 442 W30 kit. Looks like those parts fit fine. Maybe the only thing to do is cut down the two screw posts that are at the underside of the trunk on 64 body. Here are pics.
