  1. I really like his Ford Pickup that they did for him on Overhaulin'.
  2. I have their '34 Ford Fordor transkit. It's an okay casting, but could use a little cleaning up. It isn't all that bad, but it's the only way to go if you want to do Bonnie and Clyde's death car.
  3. Here's a few that I'd go for: The original Green Hornet Black Beauty 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza a correct body and front clip for the MPC Malco Gasser The GRX from the original Speed Racer cartoon 1961 Chaparral 1 All the resin kits/transkits offered by the Japanese company Joker All the resin kits/transkits offered by ScaleKraft A repop of the Aardvark Maserati Birdcage
  4. I have two of them on hand already. I'm doing one as the Tim Flock car, and the other will be done up as one of the two that my cousin used to own. The first one was a silver Gullwing with blue interior. He owned the car sometime in the late '60s, and has since sold it. The second car was a red one. Not sure about the interior color. I'd have to ask him. That car was also sold some time ago. Hope I can get photos of those two cars.
  5. Ok good. I was getting worried there for a second.
  6. And I thought this kit was based off a new tooling.
  7. What'd you use for the wheels and tires?
  8. I'm so glad HRM is doing the Rudge wheels. I wound up purchasing 2 of these kits at the Long Beach Grand Prix; one to do the Tim Flock alloy-bodied car, and the other will be a stock 300SL.
  9. Ordered mine through HLJ, who claims the kit is backordered. Hope that they restock soon or I'm gonna look elsewhere.
  10. There is a 1954 300SL out there that ran at Bonneville back in the '50s. That car is currently in Costa Mesa, CA and the owner drove it in the Monterey Historics a few years ago.
  11. I think it would look even better with those Rudge wheels.
  12. Hoping it's gonna be available at the Long Beach Grand Prix because Tamiya has a booth there, and they sell a ton of their products.
  13. Looks like an awesome kit. I can't wait to get my hands on mine.
  14. It's supposed to be out anytime now. I checked my LHS and they didn't have it yet.
  15. Came across this article regarding the Lamborghini Miura from The Italian Job. Glad to hear that the car is still around. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3005972/The-Italian-rescue-job-Iconic-Lamborghini-classic-film-46-years-no-mafia-DIDN-T-throw-cliff.html
  16. That's gonna be an awesome sheet. On a side note, the late Robert Stack also had a 300SL with the license plate UNTCHBL on it. I think that car was also painted in Strawberry metallic.
  17. I think the proper way to build the road racer is to shorten the back of the body.
  18. A couple distributors in Japan have received them early, and are on eBay.
  19. I would be pretty darn excited if they included decals for the Richie Ginther car.
  20. I'm actually okay with the trunk not opening. Either way it's gonna be an absolutely beautiful kit, and I am definitely going to be doing the Tim Flock Gullwing because I have the Moebius 1955 and 1956 Chrysler 300 kits with the Flock markings, as well as the 1952 Hudson that includes the Flock markings. With all these kits, my collection of Tim Flock cars will be complete.
  21. I'm so glad that Tamiya is coming out with this really nice kit of the 300SL Gullwing. I had the AMT Gullwing that I intended on building as the Flock car, and when I heard about the Tamiya kit coming out, I sold the AMT Gullwing, and now I'm waiting for this thing to come out.
  22. Since I'm doing the road racer, I'm probably going to be swapping the kit wheels out for something suitable, or may even use a wheel and tire set from Plastic Performance Products.
  23. This is the car I'm planning on doing. Hopefully, we can get some correct decals and Rudge wheels for this version.
