  1. One example of why online reviews are useless.
  2. That's who builds models these days; people who started as kids and never grew out of it. You don't see teenagers buying many $170 Tamiya model airplanes or $60 armor kits.
  3. Wow. There were no carbon fiber hoods when I was a kid.
  4. Who is making a Torino? Edit; saw it in the Revell thread.
  5. When you mentioned that trailer, my first thought was impossibly long sleeper.
  6. If we were in a bar, you'd be drinking for free. There's another site I visit from time to time. They seem to have an unwritten rule that thread titles MUST give no hint of what's inside. Mods/admins are the worst offenders.
  7. Or just go Pro/Street. The tires from a Muscle Machines diecast 1/18 car are just right for 1/12. Nice and fat.
  8. I'd say 4-500 bucks max for Tamiya quality/fit/detail level in 1/8 scale, but it would have to blow Pochers out of the water. Not hard to do, IMHO. Forget silly things like rotating crankshafts. Just concentrate on visible details. For subject matter, everyone will have a different answer. I could see spending that on a Duesenberg or other pre-war coachbuilt classic, or on a popular Ford other than a '32. For that kind of money, it should have a stock option as well as street rod. I can't think of many new cars that would appeal to me enough to spend that kind of money.
  9. Close to $1100 US for a diecast car. Too much for me, and I'm a big fan of that car.
  10. That poor Cadillac never hurt anyone.
  11. Yeah that's a cool idea, but the pay as you go idea is for the birds. The price is outrageous by the time it's paid for.
  12. I can try to post more pics when I get home. They're on my phone and I'm having trouble posting them.
  13. I saw this abomination near a customer's house.
  14. The 1/8 Cobra is 3-D printed by TDR/Shape ways and costs hundreds if dollars, maybe over 1k. I would like to see a 1/8 scale '29 Ford roadster or Tudor sedan, either as an all new tool or as a modified reissue of the Big Deuce; just a new body for the deuce frame. I think a 1/6 scale Suzuki Hayabusa would be an awesome addition to Tamiya's big bike lineup. Lots of different ways to build that one.
  15. Why? Just to say you have a limited edition car? Add a little boost to another Mustang and do the same thing with air and the radio on.
  16. Is that boosted air going into plenums or intercoolers? Edit: oh yeah...nice work!
  17. No a/c or radio? To hell with that.
  18. The buyer was from a Ranger website. After he didn't show up, I looked on CL and found a wanted ad. That guy bought the parts last night
  19. "The lost Duesenberg"; Bandai's copy of a Monogram Duesie with a different body. Just won it on eBay. Sealed kit for $29. Sweet!.
  20. Another small step. I pulled the engine and trans today. My giant hoist is awesome. It let me remove them as a unit and cleared the fenders. no way a standard hoist could do that. Not awesome: the guy who was going to buy the engine and trans flaked out on me. He canceled when he was already an hour late. If the parts don't sell within two weeks, they will go to the scrap yard when I turn in my brass and copper plumbing scrap.
  21. 5 or 6 Testors/Italeri Bugatti Royale Coupe Napoleon. About the same number of Jo-Han Hearse glue bombs. 3 Lotus 72D F1 racers in 1/8 (all started or glue bombs) 4 Big Dueces, all different issues.
  22. Entirely practical choice for picking up two kids from the game and getting groceries on the way home.
  23. Oh yeah- I think it would look great as a luxury car.
  24. That looks like a Testors/Italeri Cadillac V-16 Town Car.
  25. Over Macho Grande. Anyone? Am I that old?
