  1. he could try a model car forum ....
  2. interesting .... if a real car is made with some imagination - even if the workmanship falls short - we trash it. if a model is posted with misshaped body panels, cat fur stuck to the paint, and mechanical details either left off or added in spades, we praise the builder so his feelings aren't hurt.
  3. see how much fun we can have if we just apply ourselves
  4. good news; just thinking about my list to Santa Claus.
  5. I think a little diversity is needed once in a while around here.
  6. zombie nation!
  7. used to be more better (& bitter). remember John Wayne : "too bad he couldn't do it; just didn't have the Moxie"
  8. flat yellow between the primer and red might have made it pop. red (even primer) is a tough cover.
  9. yes; and a drop of windshield washer fluid, too. or isopropyl alcohol. everyone has their favorite mix.
  10. watch the video. two wrongs make 1 left. I think after a fair trial, he should never be allowed to race again, fined to Hades and back, then, and only then, put out on the highway crew picking up trash wearing a yellow reflective vest for the rest of his life. or even longer.
  11. very creative. always amazed at the gunsmiths art. like hand checkering stocks & engraving barrels. .. though I've never trusted myself to have possession of a shootin' iron.
  12. I thought I was a sneaky-pete cutting up an old charger cable. wired the engine and had everything glued and dried. but when it came time to droop the spark plug wires, the twisted strand wire I used maintained its "spider-legs" memory and wouldn't snuggle down along the upper side of the heads. doesn't look horrific - just very symmetrical and not extremely realistic. so it might be worth trying to see if your wire will behave for the spot you're intending to use it before grabbing the ACC.
  13. that's ridiculous; Everyone know Chinese for breakfast is eaten cold. rib bones tossed out the window from the high speed lane is okay, too.
  14. unless your car is on fire
  15. Frank Lloyd Wright's contention: if you want to be an architect, learn how to push a wheelbarrow. (paraphrased) - but the point being, how could someone design if they didn't understand how things went together? although the comment may not be pertinent to the conversation here ..... carry on
  16. Darwin. like in Thunderdome without the chainsaws.
  17. yup; internet forums at their finest. hang on folks, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
  18. remember that next time the ol' pooper's plugged up and the guy wants $150 to reach down there ....
  19. try: scalemotorcars.com articles/ XKEN 1/8 scale model T racer build lots of information working brass there
  20. I was working with a mason a bit back. we were comparing life notes and trying to make it to 4:30. he was telling me his girlfriend, from Brazil, had a house there which she rented and a business here selling. I innocently asked what she sold, and his response "... Brazilian fashion clothes to housekeepers and strippers." I say:" let them all in! "
  21. ever try finding someone who wants to WORK for a living? a substantial amount of the workforce wants top pay to show up when it's not inconvenient and do as little as possible until it's time to sneak out early. I've worked along side of a number of people that were happy to have a job and compensation so they COULD send money home to their families. there's good and bad just like anything. let's try and get Skip & Buddy jobs pushing a wheelbarrow of cement for the summer and see how they apply their recently bought Bachelor of Arts degrees.
  22. so rules are manipulated according to emotional involvement? and there's any wonder why cops feel entitled?
