  1. I shared this on the what did you get page, but I thought I'd put it here too. I got a notice that it was in stock and ordered it. Took about a week for delivery and arrived packed in a box and in perfect condition. Can't recommend Scale Hobbyist highly enough they did a good job!
  2. I believe it was a spinoff from the Revell Brock racing 240Z kit. Seems like I remember hearing that at least. Nice find for sure!
  3. It's a slow rainy Labor Day so I'm going through some things I've gotten in the last couple months. A while back I asked if anyone had ordered from Scale Hobbyist. Many months ago I asked them to let me know if they got this kit back in stock and they notified me. Here it is, a Mitubishi Starion, one of my favorite cars from Cannonball Run 2. Sure wish someone did a 1/24th Subaru GL hatchback, too! The Scale Hobbyist order got here in less than about a week, well packaged in a box not a bag, and in perfect condition. I have no hesitation about ordering from them again. Next up is a pair from Lionheart Hobbies, a Bronco Dune Buggy kit, and a Subaru Sambar van. I also have a couple of Walmart or Hobby Lobby kits. The Celica and a 1980 Bronco. I built that Bronco as a kid and I'll be trying to build it again with hopefully a little more skil this time. Finally, a bit of a mystery. I came across this Firebird shell and have no idea where I got it. It's missing the chrome, glass and everything else. I put it in the tub of Purple Clean and it took off the thick brush painted Testor's blue leaving a good body. Now all I need to do is find some chrome parts and one of the rereleased MPC Trans Ams for the rest!
  4. I got a couple of new diecasts by chance the other day. The first is a Fast And Furious Jeep. It's supposed to be 1/24th scale, but it may be a little larger? The other came courtesy of CVS. They were closing a branch here in town and I stopped by and got this Welly Toyota Celica. Not sure what to do with it, but it looks really accurate.
  5. Thanks for this, I guess it'll be too narrow for a car trailer, but I can see a couple other uses for it.
  6. Work on my entry has been paused due to weather. For the last couple of months the heat overwhelmed the a/c in my workspace. I went out occasionally in the mornings, but it soon got too hot. However, we may finally be getting a break in temperatures. This week we're supposed to be dropping from 105-114 outside temps to the low 90s. Maybe this was the last of the hotness for the year, I'm so ready for Fall!
  7. Looking forward to it! I recently came upon a couple of period correct kits that I'm already dreaming up potential builds for.
  8. Yes to this, in 1/25th for me, as a decent kit with all the King Cobra parts separate. As a cheaper alternative, maybe they could redo MPCs old Mustang II kit to make it a little better? New tires and wheels, maybe some retooling to make parts fit better.
  9. Have you opened the 1/32nd trailer yet, could it be cut down to make a 1/24th car hauler? Just wondering.
  10. Saw a fairly new Tacoma in front of me, It's not changing lanes, that was him going in a straight line. Guess the rear axle is tweaked, he was having trouble keeping it on the road. No visible damage except a small dent in the bumper. The other thing was this old trailer that was aircraft riveted together out of small overlapping sheets of aluminum or steel. It had rivets every 6 inches or so. I that the way they used to be made?
  11. That's one of the things I look forward to as 3D printing develops. My hope is that models of cars that aren't financially viable to produce as traditional kits may be printed out commercially and easily obtained.
  12. To build on that, I'd also love to see Revell do a Saleen Mustang based on the old Fox body Monogram Mustang GT tool. That was one of my dream cars as a kid.
  13. Beaters rule! Someone once said that there is a sort of freedom in knowing that you are the last owner a car will ever have.
  14. This one should be relatively easy to put out. How about AMT's evergreen 1963 Ford Galaxy with a few new added parts like NASCAR wheels and tires and maybe a revamped interior and roll cage? I know it's a pretty simple kit overall, but doing this would open up a lot of new release opportunities such as the Holman Moody cars. Maybe they could do some with decals like these, the British, European, and Australian Touring Car versions. That might get some offshore builders interested! Ford also raced some Falcons including in rallies. If they could retool the 1964 Falcon with optional racing parts included that'd be cool. Chevrolet isn't forgotten, either. Dan Gurney shipped a 1961 Impala over to Britain and won a couple of races before the car was banned. Maybe AMT could reissue this kit with some racing parts and a set of decals? Also one or two 1962 Chevy IIs raced in the BTCC as well.
  15. Thanks for the help, guys! I forgot I set up an account months ago and put a couple of backordered kits on the, 'Let me know' list. They got the Mitsubishi Starion in stock so I ordered it just now.
  16. I have several items I want to order from Scale Hobbyist but wonder if anyone has ordered from them before?
  17. I forgot these two kits existed. I wonder if the molds still exist? There shouldn't any licensing issues with the car companies!
  18. That Malibu and the Kia Soul look huge compared to those cars and the Soul is considered a compact car!
  19. Do you remember who the vendor was? I've been looking for one of these.
  20. While in another town, I stopped to get a couple things at Walmart and they had a few model kits stuck next to the diecasts. I got another MPC 1982 Bronco. Don't need another kit, but I can never pass that one up. One of my favorite trucks.
  21. I saw another retired Forestry truck today, this time a Ford. There are a few more around town, but usually they aren't where I can get a picture. I wish Ford would offer this color for private sales, I think it looks pretty nice!
  22. Passed this guy on the way to Abilene, Texas. Except for the tires and blower it sort of looked like Milner's car.
  23. Love your Koenigs! Are they full detail or curbside?
