  1. I did mine with a base of black wash and touchup with black paint and a very fine brush...
  2. The General Lee kit is from MPC/AMT/Round 2 and is proportionally different than the Revell kits, so you don't want to use it. Here's what you do.... Take this... And this... And swap the bodies between the two. There are NO SIDE MARKERS on the body of the '68 kit, and in many scenes of the show there aren't any on the General either. Then take the vector wheels from the MPC kit (or from an Eckler Vette, or aftermarket...) and use those. The pushbar in the MPC kit is disproportionate to the Revell cars as well, so check with MoparmanJim on this forum as he used to make really great CB and pushbar stuff, and he's how I got mine. My build on this subject...
  3. I'm just curious... CAN ANYONE ON HERE READ MY POSTS AT ALL????????????????????? Please let me know.
  4. Professional Sawzall Engineering at its finest. I'm sure they have cousins/in-laws that are very proud of them.
  5. My wife tells me "one more"..... As in, "one more than I'm able to build in my lifetime..."....
  6. The '69 Charger from Revell would be a great start except for one thing, it's a vinyl top car. Since the General is a straight hardtop, the BEST way to build it would be to do what I did and get a Revell '68 Charger 2-in-1 and swap out the bodies with a Revell '69, then use all the other '69 parts for the rest. NOTE: You will still need to source out a pushbar, decent CB radio, antenna, and decals, but there are resources out there to find those. Good luck! EDIT: Bad pix, I need to take some better photos without the glare....
  7. No, "shadows" as in the angle of the flash when I took the pic. The paint is Tamiya dark gunmetal grey. Glad you like it!
  8. Javelin... I WANT THAT. Also could do with an AMC Hornet and/or a Matador (non-race of course!).
  9. Man, you need to throw a tarp over that block or it'll rust itself to oblivion! VERY NICE!!! EDIT: You also need to find a way to bend one of those mirrors down closer to the door. I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone clip one of those against a tree or random barn door....
  10. Awesome about the '29 Roadster, but I'm REALLY pulling for the Torino and Ranchero. C'mon Revell!!! We want these BADLY!!!!!
  11. I would love to see you take a black-n-white pic of this car against a photo backdrop of the flats. Un-freaking-REAL.
  12. Is that a model car or an episode of Fast 'n Loud? Nice work!!!!
  13. You know, it was pretty awesome before.... Now it's just plain NASTY..... Flippin' EVIL.... Such IDEAS it gives me......
  14. Don't forget Microscale's Liquid Decal Film. It works perfectly on preserving old decal sheets.
  15. Sorry I predicted your thread's ending, but I could see as bright as daylight where it was headed. I would have banned the greatest offenders, but that's just me. Great work, don't let the political snottiness of others ruin your achievement.
  16. Another one of my "need-to-do" kits. Nice!
  17. I can't WAIT to clear off my hobby desk and do my police/fire cars. Awesome work everyone!
  18. Adding to that, if you use the '68 smooth top car with the '69 taillights AND the MPC kit altogether, you won't have to fight smoothing off the vinyl stuff. It's what I did and it worked great! Nice cars BTW! EDIT: Even better, the parts left over from the cross-kitting leaves you with the right parts to build the vinyl topped Bullitt Charger. I still need to do mine.
  19. The giant bubblegum light looks more like a dunce cap. This can only end in tears.....
