BRBO2022 - Official Topic.
Mopar - D replied to wayne00's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Jeff I know a guy over on Mopar in Scale that builds his own from scratch and I asked him if he would sell me the parts to build my own so that’s where I’m getting it from. -

Roger I’ve decided to go with the Revell KW as my cab and a detachable lowboy trailer with a Mack DM 600 steel hood/ Challenge mixer being loaded on it. This is going to add a new Super Bee company “ Super Bee Services “ -
This is a rebuild of my White Frightliner DD day cab that I built about 12 years ago when I was just getting back to building trucks. Back then I modified the sleeper cab to a day cab. For the rebuild I used several parts I had left over from using the Frightliner SD/DD kit as a donor for my resin builds. I did a WIP on the build for more details on it. The gravel trailer is a new build from the old MPC Mack DM 800 / Gravel combo kit. I modified the trailer to a tandem axle instead of the tri axle. I’ll add some outside pictures when the sun comes back here.

Awesome building Stephen! I’m amazed at how much detail you add on this scale truck. It would be great if someone had better tires for these trucks. Looking forward to seeing more progress. -

Nice start Ken on your Challenger. I painted my Challenger SE white with a brown interior and black vinyl top.

Thanks Jeff No I flipped them over and switch sides with them. My saw cuts were small but shorten the bottom but I don’t think it’s that noticeable. There’s just a little more gap between the bumper and cab. -

I was able to spray the first coat of clear coat and I’ve started on the MPC gravel trailer. I’m going to paint the dump body chrome like the rest of the fleet. I have also deleted one of the axles on the trailer to. -

Mopar - D replied to Rusty92's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Yes these are known problems with this kit and there’s a couple WIP’s showing how to fix them. I cut about 1/8” out of the middle of the front axle and lowered the head lights about 1/8” also.- 30 replies

Excellent build Johnny. Those colors make your truck look like a really nice owner operator truck. -
Autocar/Challenge mixer
Mopar - D replied to Mopar - D's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks Lee Thanks Chris Thanks JT yes I used the same sublime green on both of them but the bucket truck I used a grey primer instead of the white primer I used on the mixer so the bucket truck is a little bit darker. -
Thanks Lee Thanks Graham Thanks JT. I have you to thank for the dump body paint.
