  1. Awesome Brian! Looks very real with the outside pictures.
  2. This is what I’ve called my Heavy Haul project that I started picking up the different kits and parts for over the last 5 years. The project is a Mack DM800 pulling a refinery vessel on 4 sets of Scheuerle 3 axle (lines) module transporters. The Mack is the MPC kit, 3 axle module transporters are from KFS and the refinery vessel was scratch built using Dan’s engineering design (40 years working in engineering and construction building refineries had some help). Started with the Scheuerle 3 axle module transporters and every piece has to have a lot trimmed off. There was a lot of measurements figured out to. The vessel is 67’ long with a 10’ diameter and a estimated weight of about 400 tons. There’s a full WIP in Model trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment.
  3. Working on cleaning the trim.
  4. You’re off to a great start Marty. Your first color looks good.
  5. You’re off to a great start.
  6. I’m finally calling my Heavy Haul project finished. I think I done everything but I may think of something else to add to it. Lol.
  7. Thanks Pat, my vessel is a lot smaller than that one. Been working on the rigging this is where I’m at now almost half way.
  8. Tom nice work on your tubbed Ford.
  9. Michael here’s a link showing one in use https://images.app.goo.gl/wrs4pxfAKcaDJ1ye8
  10. Awesome engine detailing! I agree with you in that you can this as a model just by itself.
  11. Excellent build Sam. I agree the colors make your rig look like a construction truck and trailer. The backhoe will look right at home on it. For now you can say it’s on the way to pick it up.
  12. Thanks Carl. I’m going to let my paint cure a couple days before I BMF over the red.
  13. Today is a staycations day for me so I’ve been busy at the work bench. Working on cleaning the paint off the BMF and the side trim. Still have some more work to do on the trim I also BMF the front grill.
  14. Thanks Fabrizo Fresh out of the spray booth!
  15. Yes I made sure that everything was painted white before spraying on the red. Thanks for sharing Tom.
  16. Thanks Carl. Thanks Tom it’s the same color scheme that was used in the brochure back in 73. Thanks Dominik but the weather look is going to be painted red. I’ve been working on the engine and chassis while waiting for the white paint to cure. I still need to finish adding the extensions to the exhaust pipe a drive shaft.
  17. Thanks Francis thanks I’m going to be finishing my project with as much detail that I can come up with.
  18. If it’s like there other kits it’s not what you might expect. It maybe a very simple kit. A resin body would be the way to go and you may be able to use a Corvair for a donor
  19. Mine showed up today but the tracking showed as sent to delivery. Mine took 3 weeks to get here.
  20. MW this is a very interesting build you are taking on. I’m going to be following along. By the way I’m finishing up my heavy haul project and your Ochkosh would look good pulling my vessel.
  21. Thanks Francis I found these on EBAY but you can still get them from KFS in the UK.
  22. Thanks JT and Brian. I’ve been researching different types of rigging that is typically used with these loads. I was able to get some cord that I think will look good for the cables used for securing the vessel.
