  1. Interesting project, be good to see it take shape. I'm assuming it's 1/25 scale? That Trailmobile suspension seems unbelievably and needlessly complicated!
  2. That is undoubtedly unique in so many ways. A truck like that could only come from one country - USA! You did a great job on this considering you only had pictures to work from. I wonder what sort of trailer such a beast would pull?
  3. Cheers mate, I am so glad I didn't write the Pete off in sorting the fifth wheel.
  4. Thanks guys, much appreciated.
  5. My favourite period, and I don't think I'm alone in that statement am I mate?
  6. Your usual excellent work, well done mate, on to the next job! Tell the printer to brace itself.
  7. Thanks mate. I've just been working my way through the scrapyard really.
  8. I know, this is from the book "Hammer Down" which I've had since 1978:-
  9. Patience? I'm in awe at the detail of this build, just fantastic stuff.
  10. It's a great little kit that, especially with the new decal sheet they've put in the latest release.
  11. Steering box looks great, and it's had a recon pump! Make sure you bleed it properly.
  12. I'm struggling to keep up with this build! Those brake chambers are exquisite! Loving the detailing you're doing. The fuel tanks look great, good idea on the chrome tape, stops the seam spoiling them, I might look for some myself. I know I've found aluminium duct tape very useful recently, like a much cheaper Bare Metal Foil.
  13. The sheer brutality of the designs of this era are astounding. They were basically a drivetrain with a housing for a human bolted on. You've captured it perfectly, well done. You have to admire the men that drove these things.
  14. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this. Air plumbing will look good and keep you occupied for a bit. Are you doing the full U-bolts on the front axle?
  15. You're unstoppable! Great work.
  16. Feel your pain there, I'd be heartbroken if that happend to one of my paint jobs. Hope you get a solution.
  17. You've worked your printer to death! You should be used by the manufacturer for endurance testing.
  18. Added a pressed aluminium crossmember to the chassis, two air tanks toward the rear of the chassis, a bypass oil filter and a pair of quarter fenders using aluminium wire and tube. I used aluminium mesh to cover the engine doghouse, used 0.75mm square rod to form a lip for the mesh. Fitted the battery box in between the exhaust uprights. It's looking good, just got to try and sort the cab interior out.
  19. Very nice. Like the cut down front bumper. I do miss Hank's Truck Pictures, I used to stare af that for hours.
  20. Very nice, ready for work.
  21. Great job mate, so glad to see these kits on the shelves again. Like your tractors too.
  22. Using 1mm and 0.5mm square rod mainly, I built the cab locking mechanism. I've looked at so many trucks on the website, some have them pointing up, others down (which makes more sense, fail in safe position) but I opted for uppers. Just need to trim one little overhanging piece.
  23. Pete68 avert your eyes! Made my exhaust stacks and mounted them provisionally. Made some tank brackets that look more like the real thing. Got one done, I'll show more when I do the other side. I'm well aware that the cab doesn't look right. One reason is that the windshield top rail is too low. I added new top "rubbers" and then filed away the original. It does look much better, needs tidying. Started a visor from aluminium sheet but needs trimming. Before... After...
  24. Looking forward to watching this take shape.
