  1. You Could always buy some glass bottles and decant the paint into them. A painter's trick also punch small holes in the tinlet where the paint seeps in. The paint will flow back into the tinlet and when you put the cap back on it seals the can and the holes.
  2. One point that I think is being missed here is that application of the paint is important too. Never spray into the edge and laydown a coat of clear to seal the edge.
  3. I use it when I want a strong joint/reinforcement. I also mix it with Micro-balloons as one of my favorite fillers. I only use the 30 minute cure time item, not the 5 minute kind.
  4. That is a beautiful shepherd. Reminds me of my Axle. I still have Tori,a female that Axle may have had something to do with the lineage.
  5. There are some generic P/E sets of Drag racing details. Check Detail master, Model car Garage. and a few others. I don't recall any sey specifically for that kit though. Coat the decals with Micro scale clear coat before dipping in water may help hold them together.
  6. If you like cop cars, PM me.
  7. "I have used it 41 years now..." That must be one big tube o glue (sorry, couldn't resist)
  8. Soak just the roof in water for a day and put it in the freezer?
  9. Yeesh! That looks like Plastic Wood. What about a roof transplant from an Edsel, "57 ford. ?
  10. Not knowing what putty it is makes it tough. I've removed AMT putty with denatured alcohol on a piece of 0000 steel wool.
  11. I don't know if this is what your referring to, but I have bought sheets of decals with nothing but stripes on them. I think the stripes are all the same width though. Try searching Micro-scale or just google stripe decals.
  12. Nice ! I predict a run-on thrift stores fro those cabinets
  13. I think it is more like 1/16th. What is foo shed?
  14. Gasp! Sheesh! more stuff to learn. This stuff and the people that can do it amaze me.
  15. Really nice for any age, but even more considering your age! What P/e set did you use? and what paints were used? I have a couple of these in the pile and am curious.
  16. I'd get even.... with all the people that ever helped me
  17. I've tried a plethora of scribers, picks etc. over the years. I still have not found a tool that does the curves of a door or trunk line great. I think I'll give the thread method a try some day. I'd also like to see a tool that would allow routing a channel for a window to set into so glass could be installed from the outside like a 1:1.
  18. Very nice! And a novel and creative way to deal with the side seam.
  19. When I saw it in 1967 at a car show in Chicago, It was light blue, but with a very coarse metalflake and fogging in dark blue around the wheel wells. It may have been a Ford color as a base, but it looked custom to me. Someone joked that it was "Easter Bunny Blue metalflake
  20. In my experience, most any clear lacquer will be okay over acrylics like Tamiya's. As always when performing painting alchemy, testing on scrap is a must. If you have an airbrush, there are limitless clears to try.
  21. Beautiful work all around. Do you have a site with the build pics? I'd sure like to print the pics out for a future build.
  22. WOW! cutting the hood and doors out of a resin body took some moxie. Nice clean work!
  23. Google indoor clothes dryer vent. You will get some ideas, but it will not remove fumes from the paint.
