  1. Are you airbrushing? If so I would and have just sanded with what ever grit needed to get the paint nice and smooth and dust gone. Even if you sand and hit primer just re-coat with color and try and find out how to keep the dust down. I'm not sure how this would work with aerosols as they tend to put down more paint. Check out an auto parts store for the sanding pads by 3M. they make a couple of foam backed pads meant to be used wet. One grit is for polishing before machine buffing And work well. It's a large pad and I use them cut down into small squares. BTW I live in the desert too and dust in the paint has been my nemesis since moving here in 2008. HTH
  2. Nice eclectic (?) group there! All are well built!
  3. Excellent work Tom! Looks period perfect.
  4. PRO: I like it! fine work. CON: It's not mine
  5. Trying to find out why I'm blocked by a seller on Ebay. I have 100% positive FB as a BUYER ??? Can't even ask this seller what's up with that???
  6. Monte Shell DOH!! Of course it's yellow! Acu-Stion has PE Set in 1/16th. It's pretty basic. I got mine at HLJ.
  7. Hi Ed and welcome, nice to see you here. Will you be offering this in resin thru Island? Nice work so far and a one-off variant is always nice to see.
  8. This is one wild ride Kerry!! It's also nice to see someone else using that kind of putty.
  9. Nice work and the blue color looks the best I've ever seen for a S&M model. What colors did you use?
  10. Nice build and that is such a good kit except for the chassis. Yours is looking good!!
  11. Are you building both scale F-40's ? The work you've done so far looks great! I take it will be yellow? This would be a hard car to paint with a metallic or candy color and have a good match. Keep at it and if you do Alclad that well painting bodies should be good.
  12. Very nice! I like these builds where a modern exotic gives up it's running gear for a different take on a common FE RWD set-up. I'd go with the flat hood.
  13. Nice work and a great find in resin!
  14. Homosote board is a good base for doing most of your soldering. I believe it's available at most building supply stores. The T-pins stick in to it quite easily. Thanks for showing us how you do it Steve, now if you'll just put your full name in the signature line as the forum rules state things will be just fine.
  15. Looks like a Scorpion ready to strike with the double wing. Now you both are to blame for giving me an idea for yet another project. Thank you . Oh yeah, Both builds look great!!
  16. The green paint looks good on yours. I built one many years ago and painted it copper...not a great color
  17. Nice Work on everything that you've done. I think I'll like building this resin or even the kit as I can just mask off the trim and paint black.
  18. Nicely done . I never gave them a second look as they seemed to be all painted an awful Metallic Green... that wasn't very shiny.
  19. NiiiiiccE!!! Is that a jade green?
  20. I don't know Alan. I'd be interested in just the scripts. I plan on painting and masking the red and the blue on both cars. Maybe work the thin yellow(?) outline? just a thought.
  21. Ýes, If there is that much of a difference in the script between the blue '68 car and the red 69 I'd like a set or 2 also.
  22. Some where I have a cobra glue bomb. It's probably in my storage and there was an engine in it. I'll try and get over there in a few days. Nice work so far. I've been trying to rectify( I give up on using accurize ) one of those. I'd like to make it into a fastback and do a 1965 A/FX SOHC.
  23. I'd like to get some parts printed by the 3D method, problem is at least for the near and far future I don't see me doing this anytime soon. I was thinking along the lines of computer service for kits. Also, can this technique be used with just photographs as reference?
  24. Bragging rights? Jes'kidding,
