you definitely don't see Tawny Gold Mopars often. Great job on both!

yup, that will be Top Banana Yellow (that is what Dodge called it. For Plymouth it was called Lemon Twist). It is the only bright yellow that is a part of the HIP (High Impact Paint) choices for the Challenger in 1970.

70 Roadrunner kit in high demand?
TurboKitty replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have to agree with the best offer listings, I've gotten many good deals that way. Sold a lot of stuff that way too. Most successful way to win an auction on ebay is to watch it, predict when it will end (based on the time it was listed vs the time remaining - I get it to the minute), and if you really, really want it, stay up late or get up early if you can, and bid your maximum amount within the last 10 seconds of the auction. Little tip, don't bid an even dollar amount either. If you're willing to bid say $15.00 for a kit, make it $15.06, $15.16 or $15.26. You would be surprised at the # of people who win an auction by bidding that extra nickel, dime, or quarter thinking that they won't get outbid. Bid that extra penny and you will probably be the winner -
That is too cute! She looks like she's getting ready to thump that dog upside the head for soiling the tire! LOL "scram ya mangy mutt!"

Black BMF won't stick right, how to fix?
TurboKitty replied to TurboKitty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
a long time ago when I was still living at home, my mom got me this small bottle of stuff that you brushed onto the back of regular aluminum foil (the kitchen stuff). I tried it but it was heavy duty foil, so I got some thin stuff at a dollar store and it worked pretty well. I don't know if it was Micro Scale adhesive though. I've seen thin brass, copper, silver, and gold craft sheets at hobby lobby, has anyone ever tried those out? I think they are for embossing or something, not quite sure. For now I'm going to tape off the parts that I need black, but I will get some Micro Scale adhesive as well as some more black foil if I can be sure it's fresh stuff. Thanks x3 -
Black BMF won't stick right, how to fix?
TurboKitty replied to TurboKitty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
ok that's what I figured, I will look into the foil adhesive too. I am using it on a glossy surface that has been polished smooth and washed/rinsed well (no clearcoat applied yet, either). Thanks again -
Black BMF won't stick right, how to fix?
TurboKitty replied to TurboKitty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
that's what I was thinking but it kinda sucks because there is 97% of the sheet left that I have, I was hoping I could save it somehow. Thanks -
I have a sheet of 1yr old black BMF, it does not seem to want to stick like my regular chrome BMF does. I bought them both at the same time from the same place, but I have no way of knowing how old the sheets are, I was thinking maybe the black one sat longer so some of the adhesive lost it's tackiness? Is there a trick to getting it to stick like it should, or should I just buy a new sheet directly from BMF (hoping that it's a fresh sheet)?

@ diymirage: pm'd lol

I resent that LOL. You couldn't pay me to own/drive any of Acuras new or late model cars, not even an RSX or Integra. Possibly an NSX, but hey there's already two of those around here . I like the pewter color of your RSX, but whenever I see that shade of pink, I can only picture it on a '70 Mopar Muscle car

Because not everyone who wants a coupe is someone who has children..... there are those of us that want one because we don't want or need a 4 door. Then there are those who do have a family and need a 4dr that will haul the kids, groceries, etc. At the same time, even people with families *want* something fun to drive and if they can't afford to get a reliable 4dr AND a sporty 2dr coupe, then they get a "mix" of both - a sport sedan....... which is what the Charger & 300 basically are. As for the need to get a full size car if you don't have the need for one, there are people who don't like small cars (maybe they don't feel safe in them for example) so they choose something bigger. Everyone's different and not everyone wants to have the most practical this, the most practical that..... people want what they want. -
lol they are still #1, I just wanted a name change since I had that one since I signed up over a year ago. : )

Here is a chart showing the major body parts of a car. Rocker Panels can be accented with add-on panels called Side Skirts (which normally are installed to make a car appear lower, along with front and rear "Lips" to make "Ground Effects"). Also some people call the Quarter Panels "rear fenders" but Fenders are the front panels on either side of the hood only. Just like it is incorrect to call Fenders "front quarter panels". I hope this helps some, if you have any questions feel free to ask Here are the Pillar Locations for 4 Door Cars:

and your entitled to your opinion, it's not wrong and it's not right. The LX Magnum sold well, and the person in charge of killing it off is no longer with Chrysler, he has since retired. They are supposedly going to be bringing the Magnum back, here is a quote and rendering directly from Allpar.com: "A Dodge Magnum, based on the Charger, is now rumored to appear around model-year 2013, partly to provide a Lancia Thema wagon for Europe" I like it besides the wheels and the integrated spoiler over the rear window. Just wondering what the front may look like though, here's another set of renderings from the LX Forum: The last one is a Photoshop of the "FatChance" 2011 Chrysler 300C show car, thus the wheels & slammed appearance. -
What do you drive?
TurboKitty replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'd like to see a photoshop of that LOL. Maybe some 20" wheels (nothing bigger than that - I'm not into Donks) and maybe some two tone white pearl over a slightly darker cerulean blue. I did a quick search to see if anyone even makes lowering springs, coilovers, or an airbag setup but didn't find anything (it probably won't happen with this car anyway ). Honestly I'm probably going to keep this car the way it is besides getting some car audio equipment so I can hear my bass lol. Maybe some bigger wheels if I can find a good deal, idk, it's not my kind of car so I won't be putting that much $$ into it -

I agree Harry LOL. Magnum for the wagon and Monaco for the 4dr, and Charger for the 2dr. Oh what might have been..... -

TurboKitty replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
you know what's funny? The current Charger wasn't even going to be called "Charger". It was going to be called Monaco or Magnum, but so many people who got to see the car to vote on what to call it actually wrote in "Charger" on the ballot form. That's what people wanted, so that's what it is. Honestly, as much as I love Chargers, the current car should have definitely been called Monaco (or Magnum), 'cause a Charger it ain't. No such thing as a 2 dr Charger IMHO. -

How To Make Opening & Functional Doors, Hoods, and Trunks

I like to use a Tamiya Precision Panel Scriber, it takes off a smooth & very thin strip of plastic with each pass. Only cost $10 too. -
Sunday Morning Mopars
TurboKitty replied to FASTBACK340's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
are you sure that car isn't a 1970? Or a non Hemi '71 Convertible? There were 9 1970 Hemi Cuda Convertibles with the Automatic (along with 5 4spds for US Production, 3 Canadian Exports and 1 other Export, total of 18 produced). All 11 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertibles are accounted for and there are no black cars. I do know of one 1970 Hemi Auto Convt though (there might be more than one). It was previously a Super Stock drag car owned by Steve Bagwell and for some reason he had put 1971 Sheet metal on it back in it's drag racing days, along with a $5000 paint job in 1973. It's a pretty well known car: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2011/02/28/former-super-stock-hemi-cuda-convertible-offered-by-worldwide/ -
Sunday Morning Mopars

again I apologize if it comes across as rude, I've always wanted to know as much as I can about Mopar Muscle cars so I got a little caught up trying to include the most info I could. Gotta love them all, real or not though -
Sunday Morning Mopars
TurboKitty replied to FASTBACK340's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Those are all some very nice cars. I really hate to say it, but that '71 Hemi Cuda is a clone. There was only 1 In Violet/Plum Crazy 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible built, and it has a black interior/top. It is also 1 of 2 Canadian Export cars. The other Canadian Export car is a Tor Red (Hemi Orange) ’71 Hemi Cuda Automatic with orange interior, white billboards and white top. This is the real 1 of 1 In Violet '71 Hemi Cuda 4spd Convertible, notice it has a black interior & top, body color steelies, billboard delete and a body color grille (instead of Argent Silver). It has been documented and confirmed by Galen Govier. Besides that there were also 2 French Exports, 1 Winchester Grey 4spd an 1 Sno White Automatic (you can see the Hemi 4spd In Violet Canadian Export behind the White car here: Here is a Production Breakdown: Export Cars (Both cars went to France): 1) GA4 Winchester Grey (4-speed) 2) GW3 Sno-White (Automatic) Canadian Cars: 3) EV2 Tor-Red (Orange) (Automatic) 4) FC7 In Violet (Purple) (4-speed) US Cars: 5) GB5 True Blue (4-speed) 6) GB5 True Blue (4-speed) 7) GW3 Sno-White (Automatic) 8) EL5 Bahama Yellow (Butterscotch) (Automatic) 9) FE5 Rallye Red (Automatic) 10) FY1 Lemon Twist (Automatic) 11) FE5 Rallye Red (Automatic) Here are models that are painted to represent all 11 '71 Cuda Convertibles built (the Green one in the upper left is a clone that fooled many people, disregard that one): The only known In Violet 4spd Hemi Cuda w/ white top, interior, and billboards ever made is a hardtop and it's part of the Ogle Collection. No convertibles were built that way. Here it is: I'm not trying to be rude or anything but I really hope your friend w/ the '71 Cuda didn't get screwed by whoever sold the car as the real deal. -
Enos would pee his pants with the motor thats in Rosco's car LOL. This looks pretty cool, nice work on the chassis!
