  1. Antiquated rubbish... kids waiting for the bus in the dark?!? What year is this? 1930? The further-north one resides in/ visitors to these regions have less sunlight anyhow (Arctic Circle, anyone?). So, what's it matter that the clock reads 0400 or 1600 -- same amount of sunlight (or lack-thereof). I have a few battery-powered candles around should the city-operated electric candles go out.
  2. I've long been a proponent of year-round Standard Time, and more so as I've gotten older. This time change bollocks needs to GO AWAY.

  4. Gorgeous duo! I wonder if Moebius will eventually offer a Mark IV for a variation of this kit? BTW, what's the 'scoop' on that 1/12 scale '69 Zed in the background?

  6. Such a fun kit, isn't it! I'm loving the different shades of blue metallics -- black rubber mats in the interior = my fave. Where did you source the wheels?
  7. That Mark IV looks phenomenal ! The red Lakewood scatter shield really !!pOpS!! against that dark & metallic background ! Outstanding attention to details, especially the clean painting.
  8. Ah, yes... that's the "T.P.S." Sensor ( Total Piece of S__t ). Daimler really screwed up Dodge et al. with their Daimler's overcomplicated garbage -- and an engine series that rivals that of the Vega.
  9. One of Johan's finest efforts was the Sox & Martin 1971 Barracuda Pro Stock. Not only is the body sans the 'Cuda-specific fender gills, but the rest of the kit is darned near to perfect: separate suspension (okay, moulded-on K-Member, but at least the torsion bars and trans crossmember are separate), separate fuel tank; a decent Dana 60 assembly; smooth P/S underpinnings; "blank" interior tub; "plain" dashboard; correct equal-length runner induction; nice Holley Dominator atomisers; and sp forth and so on. I built one for a coworker some 27 years ago. He bought the kit and paints, and I built it for him over the course of two weeks (ah, to be twenty-five again...). Even with all of the flash of a then-24 year-old kit, it was a pleasure to assemble. Wish that I'd have bought one-each of those c.1995-c.1999 Testors reissues...
  10. While not nearly as offensive as the 1980's MPC tint, it's still an annoyance for sure. Tinted headlamp lenses? "The nineteen-eighties called -- they want their customising ideas back!"
  11. I'd be more concerned with the emblem and licence plate light housing. Panel lines can be covered by your choice of "accents" (I use Tamiya Panel Line Accent , which comes in various colours and contrasts -- others use diluted black paint, etc.) after deepening the panel lines.
  12. RHD at that, too! Lovely job there! Any photos of its tail lamps? Curious about amber turn signal/hazard lenses -- or were those add-on lamps? Were those sold through Holden?

  15. The way I see it, the Flys and Spyders should be in the '66 Chevelle, and that godawful Body By Palmer '69 Camaro should have its tooling sent to a scrap yard.
  16. Other than the Foose version of the 1/12 scale 1969 Camaro Zed, the others in that scale -- 1957 Bel Air, 1967 Corvette-- haven't been released in, what, at least 20 years? I last saw the '57 Bel Air some 18-19 years ago; over 30 years for the Corvette. I'd give a long note for the Zed again. Naturally, I'd prefer it have period correct custom wheel options (the Foose parts are just fine, IMO, and shouldn't be deleted) such as Motor Wheels Spyders or Fentons.
  17. Less weight up front, too. Even a 383 SBC would be a better choice vs. a Mark IV.
  18. Absolutely LOVE it! That colour looks like Q5 Turquoise , perhaps a shade-darker. Those '69 stripes look right at home, too. The opening boot is perfection! Even down to the petrol filler tube.

I'll gladly trade the car which I own, is in my name, whose registration is relatively inexpensive, and whose insurance is dirt cheap, for an impractical E.V. -- and monthly payments, isn't in my name, expensive insurance, and outrageous registration. All for an, essentially, short term issue. Yes, $6.00/gallon plus is painful. But, I'd rather pay for fuel than make loan payments.
  20. Highest price-per-gallon of gasoline I've seen around this region (southwest Riverside county) has been $6.50... at an ARCO station never-the-less! (garbage gas). Certainly, that's for "Premium" ( 91 octane -- other states have 93-94 octane ), as that'll all I'll run in my 2004 Crown Vic 'P71'.

I delete those texts ASAP -- I don't even want that garbage on my phone in any capacity. Other than PayPal, I don't employ the services of any of the others (especially the "jungle" site).   23. Nice save! Salvaging --retaining-- as much of the original build as possible is a wonderful thing. I have the c.2006 issue of the Rat Packer which I'd painted some 15 years ago (Tamiya Gold [aerosol], Tamiya Pearl Clear [aerosol], and Testors Gloss Clear Enamel [aerosol]). For the life of me, I don't remember why I shelved it back then...
  24. I've long wondered about the 1971 Satellite in the original (and only) Gone in 60 Seconds! . It has the "bird bath" bonnet (with '383' callouts), but the rest of the car is pure Satellite. Given that the car was only a couple of years old at best when that film was produced, it begs the question: was that hood added to the car to fluff it up for the movie? Was it a special order?
