  1. Good work on that console delete. As far as carpeting replication: embossing powder is your friend. Available in different colours (I have both white and black) and may be painted-over. Check in the crafts aisle of Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc.
  2. "Satisfaction, is the death of desire." , or, in other less prosaic terms: “It is of the nature of desire not to be satisfied, and most men live only for the gratification of it.” ― Aristotle, Politics
  3. Until you walk a mile in another man's shoes, you can't lead a horse to water... or however that saying goes. When it comes to kits, someone will always wish it had --for an instance-- a 4-speed instead of an automatic. But, if it came with the 4-speed, someone will want to convert it to an automatic. Lord knows I'm one of those types (haha). Take it or leave it... or change it to your liking.
  4. RE: Dating of Annual Kits by MPC: I have a 1972 Duster 340 annual, and its decal sheet has a date of "05/1971". Heck, that's only midyear 1971 model year!
  5. 1-2-3-4, More, More, More, More by Don Landis.
  6. Thus far, it's been me 2004 Crown Victoria P71 (retired Inglewood, Ca. unit # 428). Bought it last year for $1,900! 135,000 miles on its analogue odometer (was 129,000 when I bought it). Runs great, handles great, and is sans all of the bells and whistles. Its Certified speedometer is spot-on to this day. 15 mpg in town, 22 mpg highway, 18 mpg combined.
  7. Hahaha! Me little love bug Tæo always had his eyes affixed upon my stacks of unbuilt kits' boxes.
  8. It appears to me that the rear bumper and tail lamp lenses are 3-D printed (?) Yes, I realise that it's a test shot; and, no, I'm not knocking anything -- just an observation is all.
  9. Have you ever built the new-tooling snap kit of the Coca~Cola 1969 Charger? By all accounts, it's a quantum leap beyond this Dead Sea Scrolls thing.
  10. I wonder if the SKU (bar code's last 5-6 numbers) is the same? Maybe there's an addendum; perhaps there's a --hypothetically-- "-1" or "-2" on the SKU / part number to indicate this upgrade/update/change?
  11. Maybe Revell could secure the Married... With Children! licence, and turn that Duster Funny into something along the lines of "Stink Foot" or "Shoe Biz" .
  12. Pontiac 230/250 OHC 6 = COOL !
  13. Crop Out or Sheriff John Deere
  14. I should have specified that the instruction sheet had that [Pontica] typo, not the box art.
  15. I miss their 1967 Pontica GTO and the awe-inspiring box art.
  16. 1.) I'd thought about buying that (or was it acetone?), but I ostensibly hesitated. I do all of my brush-painting indoors (apartment life) and lacquer thinner & acetone are pretty pungent. 2.) I'll be travelling to Arizona around 27 May for my friends' wedding (Arizona's border is pretty far away from where I reside). I'll have to grab a few different chemicals that this stupid state hath banned (i.e., real brake cleaner, etc.). Thanks much for your input and advice!
  17. Jim's Camaro-bodied F/C used a Ford SOHC 427 in 1:1 ??? "2 engine options 426 Hemi or FoMoCo engine 427" , according to Atlantis' site's description of the 'Jim Camaro.
  18. I went to purchase some denatured alcohol at one of the local 'home improvement' stores (name doesn't matter), only to find that stupid California banned it a few years ago. I use it as a brush cleaner (Tamiya paints primarily) as it's (or was) cheaper than Tamiya's equivalent --- now I'm SOL with that alternative. So, what is a GOOD "replacement" for this now-evil cleaner? Thanks.
  19. Okay, Kevin replied. Apparently, he made and sold that trunk lid some years ago, but it wasn't a hot seller (his words). Now to post an ad in the Wanted section here.
  20. I'd read where the 2.8 litre V6 was pressed into service after a lengthy hiatus. Now, if the rumours are true, the TH-200 should be rejoining its powerhouse soonly hereafter.
  21. IIRC, the Cop Out iteration of the Duster was originally the Mongoose car, then got the Daniel [sic] treatment some time in the mid-seventies.
  22. I believe that it was (is?) Missing Link who was offering this deck lid. I sent a message to Kevin via eBay...
  23. I don't believe that I've seen this iteration -- appears to be from the late seventies/early eighties?
