  1. Sounds like another good source. Are those kits' headers of the fenderwell verity or underchassis?
  2. Thanks for the image. I've had me eye on those, and the long tube headers from the AMT 1967 Chevelle Pro Street. I'm also considering two Holley Dominators from Fireball for this project, as the Monogram carbs are little more than flatbread blobs.
  3. That's a probability. Port-spacing is darned close; maybe from the AMT 1966 L-79 Nova(?)
  4. Does anyone make resin (or even metal) headers for a 1/24 scale (e.g., Monogram's classic scale) Chrysler B/RB engines? Any close-enough samples in styrene? Perhaps a Mark IV Chevrolet? I'd like a pair for the 1971 Satellite-Road Runner-GTX, but lack the skills to roll my own. Please provide link(s) and/or kits in your replies. Thanks!
  5. Thanks much! I'm keen on shades of gold, especially when it's a period-correct shade; lots of gold Chevy II's around back then (me mum had a '63 two door sedan with the 4 cylinder and its only options were an AM radio and a heater. She bought it new in spring '63 when she moved here to California). The finish is more impressive in person. I really like Tamiya's Pearl Clear, as it has just the right amount of 'pearl' in it; not overdone like Testors "equal" was.
  6. The 1968 Fury I Pursuit would be slick. T'hell with Stugotless (or whatever their name is) -- just leave any and all Plymouth names off of marketing. Broom handle to a hornets' nest: the issued-under-Testors-branding 1970 Pro Stock Barracuda, 1970-ish Olds 4-4-2, 1970 AMX, and 1969 S/C Rambler tooling?
  7. Those 1975-1980 two-way cat cons were restrictive garbage. A straight pipe plunged-through the 'converter will get a visual-pass on I/M smog inspections ?
  8. Thanks much! The tyres turned out better than I'd expected. Yes sir! I love your preserve/resto works quite a bit -- the orange one was my impetus for completing this long-forgotten build. Thanks much!
  9. 'ere's me AMT Rat Packer . Started this thing some 15 or 16 years ago: prepped and painted the body, then for whatever reason, lost interest. After seeing @Snake45restored , vintage orange coupe, and the copies of the new Moebius '64 SS & '65 Gasser, I hadda drag this khazi out and finish 'er off. BODY : Tamiya Gold (aerosol) over el cheapo grey primer (likely c.2005 WalMart stuff) , followed by Tamiya Clear Pearl, and topped with Testors Gloss Clear Enamel. Molotow for most of the brightwork; silver Sharpie for the tail panel, with gold Sharpie for some of the rear trim. Tamiya Black Panel Accent in door panel lines, trunk lines, cowl vents, and around emblems. INTERIOR: 100% kit items. Colour is Tamiya Sky (a military flat green) with flat red roll bar, gold Sharpie shifter handle; Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black tiller and column. Tamiya Black Panel Accents around gauge clustre, "Oh, S--t !" handle, and junctions of door cards-to-floor. FRAME & CHASSIS: Sage Green craft paint over a light coat of Tamiya primer; Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black frame rails and bars. Chrome and brightwork is kit plating, highlighted with panel wash in grille recesses. Pearl white on back-up lamps and head lamps; Testors Turn Signal Amber Metallic (acrylic) for front signals; red Sharpie for outboard rear lamps. Kit tyres painted Tamiya 'Rubber: Black' aerosol. When dry, the treads/ slicks were sanded with a coarse file board, then Tamiya Black Accent and the same's Dark Grey Accent were brushed on the 'road-side', which permitted a very convincing appearance. Hood scoop is the only non-OOB item. I didn't like how the injector stacks looked, so I modified the scoop from the Bruce Larson 1974 Vega USA 1 kit (basically, I sanded the bottom of the scoop until it fit the Nova's bonnet properly), painted it Tamiya Sky to match the interior, and, yeah. Left off the goofy headers. Too big for this kit's already cartoonish appearance. Without further ado, here 'tis. Critiques, accolades, and ad hom. attcks encouraged.
  10. According to this 1976 brochure, the 454 came with dual exhaust (likely a 2-into-1-into-2 setup): The Old Car Manual Project Brochure Collection (oldcarbrochures.org)
  11. Das ist güd! C'est fantastique! Great werk on that Buick!
  12. Thanks much for clarifying that for me -- I obviously overlooked that part.
  13. I had this idea (certainly, I'm not alone in that), and had suggested it in one of the threads. My skill level isn't the highest; my tools, minimal. It'll be a while before I get to any bashing of the two as you've done here --- needa work on me chops. How well --if at all-- does the AMT interior tun fit-upon the Moebius chassis? Thanks.
  14. IIRC, that iteration has the stock GT/GTA upholstery and door cards.
  15. I believe that the MPC 1969 Barracuda has a separate console with shifter (unlike the 1969 Hurst/Olds). It's a vintage 1968 piece, too, dating to the 1968 annual (back when the MPC Barracuda had a 225/auto with Hemi/auto as the option). I'd dig through my copy, but it's buried deep in my stash.
  16. Any plans for a Hurst Dual-Gate? I'm liking what I'm seeing!
  17. Both are FE engines, no? I've never had me hands on the Revell Thunderbolt; I have seen the contents of the AMT GT/GT-A.
  18. Your 'Vette Roadster is coming along quite nicely, Mike. That engine looks great! @Snake45sent me a spare Mark IV tri-power setup -- eventually it'll end up atop the 427 in the Revell '69 COPO (maybe the modified-reissue SS-396 that's due out soon). But, I digress... Too bad about the colour coats. Such an awesome colour, too. Keep up the great work!
  19. Even the 360/390? Maybe I'm thinking of the 70's 360 -- I've seen a 1976 360 four barrel intake, complete with a 'D6--' Ford part number in its casting.
  20. Didn't mean to de facto hijack your thread. I just can't help but sarcastically mention the fallacy of "military time"; been using it for decades myself... along with any 24-hour operation (hospitals/medical facilities, convenience stores, emergency services, transportation, etc., etc.). Now, all's I got to do is win the lotto jackpot so that I can afford to travel to Japan. It's a country which has been on me list for decades -- especially the 'Neko Island'.
  21. I was being facetious (note the analogue 24 hour format clock as my icon). I'm goofing on people whom refer to 24 hours format as "military time" (they don't possess exclusive rights to employ and display that format). Anyhow, sorry for the digression. Just a humourous observation.
  22. "What's 16:00? Is that military time?"
  23. I enjoy simplicity in the proper areas. Fiddly parts drive me insane because of arthritis and compromised vision -- no fifty-piece front suspensions nor itty-bitty interior parts, thank you. Conversely, it's the lack of under hood items which irritate me: no brake master cylinder (or, a lump of plastic which resembles the 1966 & earlier brake master) bothers me; tiny radiators; moulded-in washer bottles & overflow tanks, etc., etc. Separate frames/subframes (Chrysler C-bodies, G.M. 'X' and 'F' bodies) are awesome (Moebius Chevy II series has it right). I'm not keen on moulded-in exhaust, rear springs/differentials; I'm good with fuel tanks being moulded-in. I like separate door cards, seats, consoles; steering columns with turn signal stalks and shifters (shift quadrants are nice, too); and, two-piece dashboards (main frame with a separate dash pad) typically offer defogger vents. Matching console-to-transmission is another biggie (MPC's 1971-1976 Duster-Demon-Dart Sport for an instance: 4-speed, with an automatic's console). Separate glass which actually fits properly (AMT's 1990s kits have subsized windscreen and backlights; Revell's got it right). Final Words: The AMT 1963 Nova Wagon is just about perfect. Everything fits perfectly; but the moulded-in front bench seat required some 'trick' painting to get shading looking right. It'll be interesting to see if the Moebius Chevy II's chassis / sub frame, etc., fit the AMT Nova wagon.
  24. Whose built-up is that? Looks like a beautifully executed version of the box art illustration!
