  1. Just the first one --- the original from 1997 . At one time I almost , um , "reenacted" the , um , "bed scene" ...
  2. I'm glad that Revell is re-releasing a few select classics in addition to the variations-on-newer-tooling kits ( the AAR 'Cuda and the '57 Fairlane 'Gasser' ) . Keep 'em coming , Ed Sexton , et al. , and I'll support you guys with my hard earned Blue Collar dollars .
  3. One of Monogram's finest offerings , esp. during the time of its original release ! Prior to that stock kit's issue , we were stuck with NASCAR stuff which was a bear to modify ( I never even attempted such a conversion ) . I wonder if the 1987 Aerocoupe is in the rafters ?
  4. There were a few variations based upon the initial 1978 Stepside Annual : 1.) Four Wheel Drive Dust Devil (mid-late 1978) ** 2.) "Dooley" [sic] (c.1979) 3.) Sodbuster (1981 annual ; updated front clip ) 4.) Hardcastle & McCormic (c.1982 ; modified to GMC livery) 5.) Fall Guy ( c.1984 ; first year for the Fleetside bed ) ** I was so irritated by the box art-versus-contents of that 2nd issue ! In the upper-left-corner was a 2WD ---- NOT included in the kit !
  5. A Slant Six version would be fairly easy , even with the existing 1971 kit . The instruments are different , as the 318 and Slant series had the regular models' "boxed" speedo ---- a piece easily and readily gotten from the MPC 1975 Dart Sport . Not sure if anyone makes a resin 904 trans or even a 3-speed manual --- while not completely accurate , the 4-speed from the 340 could be used , and the 727-G trans from the Lindberg kits could be used .
  6. That tooling -- the ancient Revell-pre-Monogram-joint-venture tool -- needs to be scrapped , period . The worst of it is the exposed runners on the windscreen ! Zoinks ! Then there's the toyish engine , etc. --- just olde crusty poop that needs to go be scooped-up and disposed of. The Monogram versions are much better (though inferior-versus-superior-MPC C/K series) , albeit not accurate . One nice touch is that the tail light lenses are moulded clear --- much easier to have realistic backup lamps vs. the painted white "option" .
  7. With the overwhelming excitement surrounding the restored / retooled 1978 D-100 Sweptside -- in 2WD livery ! --which is ostensibly a runaway success , I started thinking "How about the 'Roundbody' C/K series Chevy Pickup ? Would Round2 find it in their hearts and resources to restore the Fall Guy , et al. , to its former glory as a 2WD of 1978 vintage ? " Much like the coveted D100 Sweptside , the C.10 could , in theory , be a 'modified reissue' : 1978 front clip with the Fleetside bed of the Fall Guy , et al. , pickup ---- or , even better , a longbed Fleetside ! Toss-in a new set of plain steelies / hubcaps , and eventually offer a K.10 or K.20 version . Not that I've got a "problem" with the Stepside ; I just know that the Fleetside would be a better seller . Am I off-base here ? Opinions and suggestions , please
  8. Hopefully the AAR 'Cuda has the correct-sized tyres , even if they're "blank" no-name . Wonder if it's got any options ? Be nice if it had period-correct custom wheels and tyres , etc . Lovely to see that '86 Monte SS back in the mix , too ! I remember how much excitement that that kit brought me when I saw it in late '85 / early '86 on the shelf at the hobby shop ! The mid-late 80's were definitely a renaissance period for Monogram ; the Monte and the T-Bird Turbo Coupe (late 1986 issue of a then-new and newly-redesigned T-Bird) were leaps and bounds above anything produced by a U.S. manufacturer at that time . Perhaps "dated" by today's standards , but the proverbial bar was raised when those two kits were released over 30 years ago . The other kits are also a welcomed return . I haven't seen nor built that wild V.W. Bus kit in at least 40 years (where's the Mojave Mule Chevy LUV ?) ; that 1970 1/2 Trans Am is a must have ; and that 1976 Chevy pickup is one of my all-time favourites ---- so long as it's not that pile-of-dung Revell version .
  9. Very cool , man ! That condo is adjacent to Bixby Park on Ocean , no ? Let's not forget Park Pantry and Ambrosia --- both serve an excellent breakfast ! Perhaps my favourite thing about L.B. is that everything's in walking-distance .
  10. Just avoid the "Road Diet" streets and / or Broadway , and you're good to go . Long Beach is my favourite beach city (most seem to clamour to Huntington Beach or Newport --- no , thanks) ; one of my best friends has lived there for 11 years (presently near Cherry x 7th) , and I make it a point to get there at least twice-a-year . How long have you lived in L.B. ?
  11. A proper 1970 Duster (340) requires more than a mere grille swap : - Different upholstery pattern - Different stripes - AVS carburetor - Turn-down exhaust - Different passenger-side exhaust manifold Of all of those , the upholstery pattern would present the biggest challenge . I would like to see Round2 backdate their 1971 model to a 1970 ; including optional period-correct aftermarket wheels ( *cough* Spyders *cough) ; a non-A/C setup ; brake booster ; "correct" Six Barrel air cleaner decal (for the nice , optional 3x2 induction ) ; headers ; a gang of new decals ; and better windscreen , backlite , and quarter windows (and , in the process , get rid of those abhorrent moulded-on wipers that look like lumps of dog scat !) . _______________________________________________________________________________________________ 1970 G.M. A-bodies --- goes without saying that the Monogram tooling 1970 SS-454 is quite long in the tooth ! It was okay back in 1982 -- and the Baldwin-Motion version offered nice upgrades and a revised interior -- but it's mediocre at best . The AMT version ? Better than the Monogram version , but... At least backdate that tooling to a 1971 , and toss a brake master cylinder in there while they're at it .
  12. Easy piece to overlook ; easy mistake to rectify .
  13. Mod fashion RULES . I miss being thin and truly fashionable ( "See my tailor he's called 'Simon / I know it's going to fit..." ) ; these days all that I have is a new pair of Cuban-heel Chelsea boots ---- need to find a pair of Renauld Sea & Ski Spectaculars sunglasses again !
  14. Thanks much for the link and the info. It would appear that the fuel cap's location is "outdated" , as the trucks' fuel tank is mounted on the left-side of the chassis , bedside . If I remember correctly , 1972 model year was the last year for in-cab fuel tanks (at least for Light Duty trucks) . Nevertheless --- I'll just fab one up or mount the kit's part in its 'proper' location . I'm just happy to see this kit ! The fuel cap deal is small apples .
  15. Something not quite right... It's not a huge detail , but it nevertheless stood out to me as a glaring omission : There's NO fuel cap ! I didn't notice until I watched Chris' review / build video last night ; got me thinking , Did the original Sweptside annuals have a fuel cap ?
  16. Where's the review , Chris ??? Enough teasing already !! Looks fantastic !
  17. Either a backdate ( of a long-in-the-tooth tool) OR an all-new tooling '73-'74 SD-455 --- that would be better ! I've said it before and I'll say it again : 1976 was the last year-of-Trans Am-Firebird that I like --- those square headlamps and full-width tail lamps just killed it for me .
  18. Danke , Herr Rico . Here's an image of the wheel covers ; I also linked to an eBay listing for my favourite Plymouth wheel covers : 1971-only , Plymouth-only , 14"-only . https://www.ebay.com/i/143012663673?chn=ps
  19. Was it you whom offered the 1972-1976 Plymouth 14" Deluxe Wheel Covers ? I saw them at one time on Shapeways , now I can not find them... I love those 1969 Plymouth Deluxe Wheel Covers , by the way !
  20. That Big Jimmy V6 is gorgeous ! WOW ! I'm loving everything about this work-of-art you're creating !
  21. Not to mention that the AMT Challenger (an otherwise mediocre kit) has a Dana 60 already , and separate exhaust , separate driveshaft , etc.
  22. Absolutely . Though the stock wheel covers in that kit are quite to my liking as well . But , yes , those steelies / hub caps would be perfect for a stripp-o model (think : telephone utility vehicle !)
