  1. Looks like you bought the only item that's not 'Out Of Stock' on their site !
  2. Looks great ! Man , that kit is older than lava --- dates-back to the late 50's or so , then was modified into the Bad Man or whatever it was called (c.1970) . I've taken the same approach to scribing-around trim , side markers , etc. , that will be BMF'ed for the reason you've given . Keep up the great work !
  3. Lettuce not forget the ill-fated Prestige issue of the '63 Impala SS ! That thing got such a bashing back when it was issued in 1988 ; not because of the kit its self , but because of the "Prestige" nomenclature --- those kits were sold new at a premium over the 'regular' kits . In other words , the ~ $9.00 retail price was , shall we say , overzealous , in comparison to its contents (or , lack thereof)
  4. A 300 Deluxe Coupe with the (underrated-in-its-latter-years) 350hp L-79 would be awesome ! Same with the same-year Chevy II (which we need a 1968 AND 1970 Nova kitted , please !) ; truly a sleeper !
  5. The 'regular' Renault R5 was called "Le Car" here in the U.S. --- a 'cute' name for a unique car . One of my best friends is a French car fanatic ! His father owned / operated a Peugeot-Renault-Alfa Romeo dealership in Santa Monica , Ca. I used to see some interesting -- and seldom-seen-in-the-U.S. -- cars parked in the driveway of their house ; the Peugeot 605 was a real stand-out ! He has one-of-the-two "grey market" Peugeot 205 GTI's imported to the U.S. It's too bad that those cars never got a "proper" importation , as they would have sold like mad over here ! Instead , we got the 505 ( a nice car never-the-less ) and its predecessors . I've got to keep mes yeux ouverts for a reissue of that street model R5 Turbo !
  6. Harts Parts offers some very nice pieces . I've bought a few things from him ( namely , the interior conversion for the Revell Dart ; it consists of correct door panels , correct dash ( no radio , no climate control panel ) , and the Bostrom seats ) . Harts' castings are superb ---- quite like styrene ! Nice work on those Landy's Dodges !
  7. Thanks much for the image and info . Now to hunt for one... ...and hope to not pay a grip of green for it !
  8. Does any manufacturer a stock Renault R5 Turbo in 1/25th or 1/24th scale ? I'm aware of the Tamiya Rallye version ; I'm looking for street-stock . Same goes for a Peugeot 205 GTI , c.1985 . While we're at it : 1.) 1970 Dart Swinger 2.) 1970 Duster 340 3. ) 1970-1972 El Camino ; 1971-1972 GMC Sprint
  9. Neither is any V8 --- small-displacement Windsor or , especially , the Cleveland... let alone the 429/ 460 ! Why ? That stock differential ! It was , what , 6 7/8 ring gear ? Hardly acceptable even behind a 4-cylinder ! Perhaps it's an easy DIY swap , but it would be nice to see a 9" rear tooled up for the AMT and MPC Pinto and Mustang II .
  10. Didn't the first / earlier issues have stock tyres ? I built a few of those AMT 1/16 scale Chevys back in the early 80's ; I seem to recall stock Firestone tyres being included... Too bad that Round2 didn't shake some of the late 70's / early 80's custom stuff out of this issue ( Cragar SSTs ? Turbo ? Not exactly the pinnacle of automotive customising , in my opinion ) and instead tool-up some vintage 50's-60's parts instead ( think : Corvette rocker arm covers , etc. ; chromed-reverse wheels ; gold line tyres...) .
  11. I don't believe that the AMT Pinto had anything other than the stock OHC 4-banger ( and its unique-to-the-AMT-version C-4 transmission --- a rare and sought-after trans & bellhousing in the "1:1" world ! ) . Now , MPC's Pintos (and Mustang II) had an optional 351-C ; perhaps that's what you're thinking of ? Put me down for one of those '77 Pinto kits --- great to see it make its triumphant return ! I'll take one of those '53 F-100 kits , too . While I have multiples of that bad boy ( number one F-100 kit of the '53-'56 series , period ) , I'll get one just for that nifty soda vending machine and its dolly !
  12. Gorgeous work , Guy ! I like its "dual-personality" : single-colour on its flanks , with that wonderfully wild pattern on its bonnet-to-boot ! Keep 'em coming !
  13. Most popular engine colours are available ( albeit , not always in-stock at the store ) , and some less-popular colours as well ( Pontiac Engine Blue Metallic ; Detroit Alpine Green ; Race Hemi Orange ; Hemi Orange ( "Street" and "Magnum" / 1970-1971 340 ) ; and various "_____________" Engine Red shades ( Chrysler Red and Ford Red are darned similar ) ) . Certain engine colours are "roll your own" , essentially : Oldsmobile Blue Metallic (though I *think* that Testors makes that one) ; AMC blues ; and some others whose names I've forgotten .
  14. I hope that that archaic 340 Six Pack / Six Barrel which dates-back to c.1983 hath been laid to rest . It was oversized and lacked detail ( but no more lacking than any of the other Monogram offerings from that era) , the worst-of-which was its carburetors ! Just blobs ! I haven't much faith in the (hopefully) new tool 340 Six Barrel , at least from what I've seen (the single photo shared by Tim Boyd) --- those 2300's look like better-than-the-original-blobs-but-are-still-lacking-details . Again , Chief Joseph to the rescue there ! Hope that Revell isn't passing up a 2-In-1 opportunity with the AAR ---- would like to see it available with a single 4 barrel induction / air cleaner , stock 340 four barrel exhaust , standard 'Cuda bonnet , and the correct exhaust outlet rear valance .
  15. Flawless... absolutely the finest '60 Plymouth I've seen !
  16. Additionally : the intake manifold was either painted engine colour ( 325hp and 350hp versions ) or "raw" ( read : unpainted) aluminium ( 375hp [L-78 version ) . So-called "Day Two" engines could be any colour , including the Nicꓘey Chevrolet 427 conversions which were Daytona Yellow in some (all?) instances (at least the 1967 models) .
  17. The AAR 'Cuda appears to be a nice piece (though I admit that the Holley 2300's look so-so... Chief Joseph to the rescue there !) , and is a much welcomed addition --- certainly , at minimum , leaps and bounds above the c.1995 and c.2007 "attempts" . I'm hoping that in addition to the stock AAR , that the following parts are added : 1.) Single Four Barrel induction and air cleaner 2.) Stock bonnet ( be it a Shaker setup , a twin scoop arrangement , or even a flat "BH" version ) 3.) Tyres are properly two different sizes , just like the 'real' car 4.) That the Dana 60 is either replaced with the correct 8 3/4 OR that the Dana is still there in-addition-to a proper 8 3/4 5.) A stock (e.g. , non-AAR) exhaust is an option (to complement the aforementioned single 4 Bbl , etc.) Thanks for the photos , James !
  18. Let me preface by stating just how much I abhor Dayton wheels ----- overused and boring , not to mention that they're NOT period-correct . In my 49 years -- 32 of which were spent growing up a stone's-throw from the world famous Whittier Boulevard cruising scenes (yes , plural) --- and I never saw a classic Lowrider shod with those stupid wheels ; 13" Cragars , 14" Appletons , 13"-14" chromed-reverse , or ornate wheel covers were it... ...not a Dayton in sight . With that unsolicited diatribe out of the way ---- I positively LOVE those wild paint schemes ! Not only the Lowriders , but Muscle cars , fifties cars , 60's fullsize cars , pickups , and vans as well . Certainly , a classy car such as the Gypsy Rose '64 Impala (and its predecessor-by-the-same-name --- a 1960 model if I remember...) bests the best 80's or 90's barf-o paint schemes . Keep 'em coming !
  19. I've never airbrushed it ; however , the from-the-pen dry-time is fairly quick . Even at that , I don't touch the chromed area for 24-48 hours just to be on the safe side .
  20. In spite of the "It's a HEMI !" decal included on the "real" car's paint scheme *and* on the decal sheet for the 1972 Duster 340 annual . With that being said ; how cool would it be to build one with the DOHC Hemi from the 1970 Super Bee !
  21. I've bought a few of Kris' items via Morgan Automotive Detail and can attest to the quality of his products . Here's a link to the M.A.D. site : http://www.madmodeling.com/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=chevylongbed&sid=441c63w08tmbw5f095g2zen740q29oga
  22. I believe that the D-50 is slated for reissue this year (2019) , though I have no idea what iteration that Round2 has slated for it . Definitely one of my favourite kits ! Frankly , I'm surprised that the Ranger and S-10 kits haven't been issued since c.2003 ! That's 16 years ago already ! Bring those back , as well as the Explorer , the F-150 (c.1994 model) , and the coveted 1990 454-SS C-1500 ! Absolutely YES to the 1972 GMC C-15 ! Shortbed or longbed , Fenderside or Wideside , please !
  23. I never knew that -- until now . Back when these kits were new , I can only recall seeing the Fall Guy GMC ; never did see the Hardcastle & McCormick version until a few years ago ( !! ) . My go-to shop for kits was the supermarket , FedCo , and-or GEMCO . Never-the-less... I just want to see that 2WD parts return in the next iteration of the GMC pickup ---- including stock steel wheels and hubcaps .
  24. Oh , I still enjoy listening to the same stuff that I have since high school ; anything from good old dirty Rock & Roll ( Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers L.A.M.F. is my fave ) , to Soul , Northern Soul , R&B , Psychedelic , Garage , Punk , etc. , etc. ----- except now my body won't let me grow my hair long ( I've had a "bumper crop on top" for 18 years --- keep it short or look like a freak ! ) . I suppose that a few events in my life (nothing exclusive) have made me think about how fast time goes . One of my beloved kitties is turning 17 next month (had her since she was 6 months) and she's exhibiting signs of dementia or some such , which breaks my heart . I've long had Solipsistic tendencies and an Existential Nihilist outlook ---- I suppose that that's par for the course with my Celtic bloodlines ( haha ) .
  25. As ridiculous and pedantic as this is going to come across ---- I'm going through a , shall we say , "A-Typical" Midlife Crisis . Why the 'A-Typical' embellishment ? Simply put , I'm not going-through-the-paces of the *typical* midlife crisis ; no red convertible ; no scamming on birds that're half my age ; no facial hair ; no Old Guys Rule livery . Instead , I'm biding my time with the realisation that I'm on-the-cusp of half-century marque , and have nothing to show for it . I would like to read about how you , my fellow plastic fanatics , have dealt with or are dealing with your aging process . "Just as everything's going fine Lose my grip and slide ; Bounce the rock and catch the ball Bound to fall . Fall stumble or toe the line ; See my face and hide , Catch the tears I've cried . From reality it seems I've strayed ; Tired of all the silly games I play" - Bound To Fall , Michael Brewer and Tom Mastin . "There's nothing left alive But a pair of glassy eyes ; Raise my feelings one more time" - Gimme Danger , Iggy & The Stooges I also listen to lots of different music whose lyrical content is that of aging and lamenting ; these two come to mind right-off : "Goin' Back" Byrds , 1968 ( mono cut -- my favourite mix ) "See Saw" , Pink Floyd , 1967 ( in newly-remastered and re-released mono ) :
