  1. Very good then . I suppose that my aversion to Daytons on vintage lowriders is where my 'plea' is borne-out-of . To me , it's like seeing an otherwise period-piece that's got new(er) licence plates on it --- just ruins the overall look to me . I'm definitely not telling you how to build your model , just voicing my (unsolicited) opinion . Cheers !
  2. Been pining to build a '70 Deuce and a '68 L-78 (and an L-79 for this matter) . I hope that the revitalised Revell does some reworking of its '69 Nova ( like , backdate to a '68 and run that for a few years ; then rework it into a '70 , keeping the Mark IV as an option , but with the main focus being a Yenko Deuce LT-1) . In the meantime , I'll start converting the (much-maligned) AMT '71-'72 Nova into a phantom Deuce ( e.g. , a "continuation series" ) using the AMT 1970 LT-1 / 4-speed combo that I bought off of eBay a few years ago .
  3. Quite looking forward to watching this baby come together , as I love what you did with that '70 Impala . ( I hope you're not married to the Daytons . At the risk of doing your crust in ; how about a set of period-correct wheels ? ) Keep up the great work !
  4. https://www.hamtramck-historical.com/paintChipCharts/_1969PaintChipCharts-01.shtml?load_img=5 I couldn't find any info about the Dodge F6 ; I only remember seeing this bad boy :
  5. Says the guy whose profile photo is that of a cat ! Haha !
  6. I've read /heard some conjecture that the 1969 Dodge & Plymouth "999" green actually was Chevrolet Rally Green !
  7. Technically , the 1973 & later B-bodies had a different K-member : the notorious rubber-isolated piece-of-cow-dung . The police / taxi models had cast iron isolators ; Direct Connection sold them for years as replacements . Additionally ; the K-members from 1973 & later were engine-family-specific ( e.g. , Slant Six , LA , and B / RB ) , making engine swaps a daunting task ! Will more than 98% of those amongst us notice the difference in-scale ? No. Even then , who cares ? I , for one , don't . Good call on the 9 1/4 rear ! 1974 was the last year for the 8 3/4 anyhow ; and the Dana 60 disappeared after 1972 . Keep up the GREAT work !
  8. Not to open a crate of oranges here , but... That iconic symbol has its roots in other cultures ; cultures which predate the devil out of the convoluted mess that the ß . et al. , employed . That's all that I'm going to say about that .
  9. How about a "1969" A/MP or S/SE ?
  10. Outstanding fifty-six Vic ! I have one of these bad boys in my stash (the reissue from ~8 years ago) ; planning on doing a mild customising job on it . Did your felines approve ?
  11. A high school friend's dad had a '78 Nova Hatchback , and that thing was FUN ! It was ordered new with the trailer towing package ; that meant that the LM1 350 was backed by the indestructible TH-400 and some numerically-bigger gear / posi . Had the F-41 suspension as well .Silver with cranberry red interior . Even with all of the California emissions garbage hooked-up and functioning , that car was quick ! I can still hear the secondaries opening on the Rochester ! The weather took its toll on the car's cosmetics --- paint faded-through to the primer coats ; dash pad had a couple of cracks ; seatbelt shoulder 'looms' decayed ; and the seats were sun-bleached ... and the car was less-than 10 years old ! I've long loved the '68 - '79 X-bodies , in each of their generational iterations . Would love to have a 9C1 some day !
  12. The GMC Astro is a must have for me ! Regarding parts pack wheels : Their offering looks nice (esp. those Halibrands !) , but I'd love to see some new tooling or restored tooling wheels as well --- how about the Spyders ( they're in the '79 Firebird / Trans Am kit ) and some Keystone Klassics ?
  13. That colour looks convincing , if not just a hair brighter than the actual colour . Did Testors drop their Sassy Grass (Plymouth name) / Green Go (Dodge name) from their line ? Keep up the great work !
  14. Prosaic truth : it's the car that I've owned since 2005 . It was my daily driver for 10 years ---- no heater , no defogger , no air , no floor covering , no sound system ; leaks around the windscreen and backlight ; a 318 with a "broom-handle" cam , 904 auto with shift-improver , 2.71 geared 8.25" rear . Full of California beach rust . But , it cost me zero to purchase , as someone gave the thing to me !
  15. You're one of my favourite forum members , man ! Would like to see your input and involvement again .

  16. This image lends credence to the presence of the Dual-Gate console / shifter in the ad seq. reissues (including the most-recent issue) . It's too bad that the Slant and the B-engine --- with the 727 TorqueFlite --- tooling is AWOL . Well , at least the recent issue includes the crossram , normal , period-correct wheels ( 6 lug truck wheels indeed ! ) , and other goodies . But , still begs the question : what-ever became of the tooling / gate for the original big block and Slant , and latter's separately-moulded T-Flite ?
  17. Hopefully they're correct . Certainly , by c.1975 ( mid-year ) , Dodge and Plymouth hubcaps became 'generic' --- they were sans the adornments of the 1969-early-1975 caps . And , no , the fleet ( colloq. , "Police Caps" ) aren't correct , regardless of 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive ; 1/2 , 3/4 , or 1 ton .
  18. Not that I'm aware of . Heck , I'd rather have a conversion kit for the Revell 1970 Hemi'Cuda / Sox & Martin kit than the ancient MPC annuals stuff . Wasn't someone working on a '72-'74 'Cuda conversion for the aforementioned Revell kit(s) ? ( I apologise if I hi-jacked your thread , Craig . Please delete my response / inquiries if you desire .)
  19. AT LAST ! A long-awaited STOCK Dodge Pickup of 1972-1993 vintage ( Yes , I realise that there are year-to-year cosmetic / mechanical variables ) ! Lettuce hope that it's got 2-wheel-drive parts ( "D-Series" ) in addition to 4-wheel-drive parts ( "W-Series" ) .
  20. ...with better box art (well , the one aimed at its target audience and a nice , "look-what-also-can-be-built-from-this-kit" set of photos as well ) . Oh ! And stock ( were Rallye Wheels still an option for this era of Monte Carlo ? ) wheels / tyres .
  21. One (somewhat) esoteric model , and a few truly-desirable models : A 100% NEW tooling of the vaunted 1971 Barracuda , PLEASE ! 1971 Swinger Special with Slant Six and 340 options ( the latter is a rare Canadian-only model ) . Needn't be a Squire --- a GT model will suffice ! ( the licence plate on the example above is eerily close to my old '70 GT ; its plate was '64 870 F' ! ). 1971 GMC Sprint SP-1 454 . Yes , the GMC embellishment could be optional to an El Camino SS-454 version. The Sprint's LS-5 ( 365hp 454 ) name was , "Invader 454" .
  22. Brasilian 1976 Dart . Based upon the 1969 model U.S. Dart ; built through 1981 in Brasil . Yes , there were "CKD" ( Complete Knock-Down ) tooling , but with requisite locally-produced , locally-sourced : - Tyres - Upholstery - Paint - Glass - and a bunch more items . The spare tyre in the car above is original ; a Good Year 'Banda Larga' ( 'Wide Oval' , or 'Wide Belted' ) .
  23. Nice work , Will ! Certainly nicer than anything that I assembled at that age ( haha ) . Welcome to the hobby , my good man
  24. That is FANTASTIC ! Reminds me of 1979 , 1980 ( when I was 10 years old ) --- sitting on my bed , listening to The Mighty 690 , KMET , and KLOS , recording songs onto cassette , and building that Monogram 1969 Z-28 . I was positively fascinated with its Spyder and Fly wheels , and those graphics . Excellent work !
