  1. Since we're on a more Sports Car kick here : - 1985-1988 BMW M6 Baveria - Peugeot 205 GTI - 1984 Supra - 1984 Celeca The last two were produced by MPC back in the 80's , but have never seen the light of day since ! Hopefully the tooling still exists ; Round2 needs to re-release these gems (sans the ridiculously-deep tinted glass ; a new set of tyres would be best , too ).
  2. A link to thee premiere Canadian Swinger Special 340 Dart of 1971-1972 : https://www.swinger340specials.ca/
  3. Let's see here : - 1970-1972 El Camino / GMC Sprint - 1971-1972 Demon - 1967 Dart - 1970 Swinger 340 - 1970 Duster 340 - 1971-1972 Road Runner - 1972-1975 Dodge / Plymouth Pickup - 1973-1980 Chevy / GMC C10 / K10 - STOCK Renault R5 Turbo - 1970 Nova (with COPO option) - Toyota Stout
  4. As a life-long California native and resident , and as a purveyor of esoteric knowledge , I take that as a compliment . Things such as incorrect licence plates drive me crazy ! Certainly , I never point the inaccurate plate out to the builder of the model , as it's a moot point ; no need to come across as a ball buster . Besides , I have some builds that are going to receive 'Michigan '76' plates ... and I'll likely put the wrong-year-of-vehicle-to-plate . I'm going to research the correct plates (e.g. , commercial versus passenger) before I arbitrarily add a plate to one of my kits .
  5. I honestly couldn't answer to that , as I've never watched the film . Oftentimes , movie / television vehicles are adorned with fictitious plates --- the licence plate on the red 1971 / 1972 Valiant in Duel , for instance , was "149 PCE" . This is an incorrect plate for a "real" / "civilian" car , as blue & gold plates didn't receive a "P" prefix until 1976 --- 4-5 years after the movie . It's easy to spot and differentiate a 1963-1969 black / gold plate from the new , retro plates : the fonts are different ; the "63" is ostensibly missing from the right-side impression (where the registration sticker is to be placed) ; and , the finish is markedly different (reflective properties on retro plates , with a subtle red pearl) .
  6. Nice save , Bill ! Perhaps my favourite thing about your finished restoration is the "in-scale" finish of its paint --- not overtly glossy and deep ; yet , not too 'dull' (like a single-stage metallic on a "1:1" vehicle) . Just perfect . Keep up the great work ! P.S. - Your feline companion looks dashing ! Here's a pic of my two rescues :
  7. Not only the incorrect-for-that-series-font , but a 'Vanity' plate (e.g. , the "FB 500") prior to the blue / gold of 1970 is just plain incorrect .
  8. Note its two different tail lamp bezels : one is the more-common version , with the back-up lamp . The other is an early -- prior to January 1965 -- sample , as there's no back-up lamp provision .
  9. I just received my order from Fireball Resins ( a/k/a , Chief Joseph ) and WOW these pieces are AMAZING ! I bought the following pieces (see attachments) - 1969-1970 Polara / Monaco Wheel Covers ( FMR 121 ) - 1968-1970 Dart Wheel Covers ( FMR 123 ) The "121" are going to find their way onto the Revell 1970 Charger R/T ; the "123" are slated for a Revell 1969 Dart GTS 383 . These parts are outstanding , to say the very least . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !
  10. I kind of miss the fabulous two-dimensional , Racing Chumps box art ! Whose 2nd grade photoshop project were those ?
  11. 1996 BCE ( Before the Chinese Era ) , AMT released a grip of their 60's kits in original -- or perhaps 2nd run -- box art . When did Racing Chumps take-over the reigns ?
  12. I was off a year in regard to the Imperial . 1965 was the last of the D-Body ; the Imperial being 'absorbed' into the C-Body line in 1966 .
  13. I thought that only the Valiant ( note : not called "Plymouth" until 1962 ) was unibody for 1960 ? The then-new A-Body line was also the first line to receive an aluminium cast transmission case : the A-904-G . I believe that the remainder of the cars lines were full frame until 1962 with the introduction of the then-new B-Body ; the C-bodies were unitised ( used a subframe through the end ) ; and the 1964 Imperial ( D-Body ) was the last full framed Chrysler .
  14. That's a cool story about an even cooler car , Robert . Thanks much for the link !
  15. Try as I might , I could not find any photos of those 1965 "RO51" and "WO51" cars in their AWB form with their quarter panels buckling-under from their bodies being so thin --- those "neutral-drop" starts (Torqueflite) and "dumped-clutch" ( "crash-box" 4-speed ) didn't help any . Al "The Big K" Kirshenbaum did a great series of articles in Mopar Action about ~20 years ago about the 1965 S/S-come-F/X "Amblewagon" cars . There were a number of folding-up AWB cars in the articles .
  16. Please correct me if I'm wrong ; weren't F/X vehicles *current* models only (e.g. , 1964 A/FX would become , say , A/MP for 1965) ? As much as I love the old AMT Rat Packer , these new proposals from Moeibus are leaps and bounds better then that long-in-the-tooth AMT kit ! And , a stock version in addition ? WHOA ! Thank you , Dave M. !
  17. "Fly" on the front ; "Spyder" on the rear . One of the most beautiful wheels EVER .
  18. Willkommen im Forum, Herr Kröger! Ich habe einen Satz dieser fantastischen "W11" Dodge Radabdeckungen gekauft; Sie sind hervorragend. Ausgezeichneter Job auf diesem 1978 Dodge Monaco.
  19. There are quite a few sentimental kits which spark some fantastic memories for me . The following text is in the past and future tenses ; the accompanying photos are pilfered from the 'net . Without further ado : The MPC 1978 Chevy Stepside annual . I built quite a few of them when the kit was new ; none of them survive . I scored an unbuilt sample a few years ago , and am waiting until my skills improve a little more ( arthritis and diminishing vision are my enemies ) before I tackle it . The ubiquitous AMT Chevy Van . Built countless samples of these vans , with the Kandy Van being the most common . Again , none of them survived --- but , thanks to Round2 , I now have a couple in my "some day" collection . This beauty ! Especially the Turtle Wax edition ! I could build these in my sleep ! There was a now-defunct chain toy store which had a big , deep bin full of these for 99 cents back in the late 80's-early 90's ! The only one I have is one which I painted pearl white ; it's in storage . Another "I could build this in my sleep" kit . This one and its 1986 modified reissue relative were constantly on my work bench back in the 80's . Last , but certainly not least , is the AMT 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery . I have only one sample ( I'll eventually take a photo of the finished model ) , as I've only built one . Its sentimental value has more to do with , let's say , 'Beyond the Wall of Sleep' kind of thing . To wit ; I was building this kit in the garage . I'd painted it in some Tamiya dark green colour (whose name I've forgotten) and was starting to foil its trim . My mum saw the painted body and said , "That's a '40 Ford ! That was your grandfather's first new car ! It was that exact dark green , too !" . So , my plans for a mild custom were now changed ; I had to build it as a stock replica --- no Nailhead , no period-custom wheels , no nothing . I gave the completed model to my mum as a gift ( she was unaware that her sentimental recollections of riding around in that sedan delivery back in the 40's had changed my mind , and that I was going to give her the completed kit ) , and she positively loved it ! A little over a year later , my mum got pancreatic cancer , and expired 5 months later . I have the sedan delivery on display -- it's in a clear case -- where it will stay until ______________ .
  20. That sounds like a capitol idea ! Those wheel covers for 1970-1974 Plymouth from Missing Link are so awesome !
  21. I agree completely . Top notch workmanship , products , and service .
  22. Hahahahaha ! Tim's always been a plastic tease ! That's one of the things which a great journalist inhabits . ( pretty please , let this new tool be a 1970 Dart or Duster , 1971 Demon , 1971-1972 Road Runner , ... )
  23. In my mind , the "good" ones are the versions with the correct dashboard and chassis . Yes , it would be quite nice of Round2 to install the Dukes version (e.g. , include the killer decals) with the "Tin Soldier" ( Ha ! ) box art . Additionally , it would be great if Round2 found the optional parts from the 1973 and 1974 annuals , and add them to "my" proposed re-re-release .
  24. Janne - se on erittäin mukava Impala! Suuri valikoima sen väreille; Minun täytyy saada osa siitä "TS-92" ! ( I hope that the translation is correct ) .
  25. Funny anecdote ; I was able to buy two of the coveted 1971 Road Runner kits ( of the 1987 reissue ) for $40 / each , unbuilt and in perfect condition . Timing's everything I suppose ... I really , truly don't understand why that stinkin' tin-packaged version goes for so much ! Even if it were a 1/12 scale version (never produced) , it wouldn't elicit the kind of prices I've seen these folks charge for 'em !
