I don't know if it's the grade of styrene that Revell USA (insofar as the kit's produced in the US) used, or if the tooling is just long in the tooth - I dry-fitted the bulkhead to the cab on my sample, and was disappointed by the de facto 'warpage'. Some day I'll drag it out of the stack of unbuilts I have and examine it further...

The Dana 60 wasn't available until the '66 model year ; '65 & earlier used the Chrysler 8.75 rear. Yes, many racers upgraded to the Dana (and even the Ford 9") , but I'm not so certain that that was legal in Stock classes.

Jo-Han made a Marlin ; AMT made the Buick GS ('66 / '67 ?), and ; MPC-via-AMT made the F-150 ( 1992-1996 ; 1997-???? ) and the Probe ( c.1990 ). The 1991-1996 F-150's been updated (originally a promo-come-kit ) and been re-released recently. the 1997 has never been reissued. the Probe AFAIK has never been reissued.

I've got one in my stash ; I'm gradually finding 'parts box' items to add (brake master cylinder, for example). Did you encounter any fitment issues with the cab's rear bulkhead (back-of-cab / backlight area) ?

I have the new-bodied '65 version ( last year ? Two years ago ? I can't recall - whenever the new body fastback was released... ) , but I've been putting off starting on it. Why ? I feel compelled to add a correct engine compartment. Maybe I'll attempt to scratch build a boiler room for it - or maybe just make it a curbside. The chassis with its moulded-on exhaust and such doesn't bother me all that much, as the build-ups I've seen look positively boss.

Heck , why not offer a CD with a couple of Garage tracks ( preferably in mono ) to go along with it ? My vote's for Kim Fowley's The Trip [1965].

That was the first thing I noticed when I saw this awesome build yesterday. I was holding off to see how long it took someone to recognise that number ( hahaha ). IMO, a more arcane reference would've been "UNiversity-75309" or some other central office exchange prefixed number.

A 413 / 426 Max Wedge in a '65 B-body would fall into M/P or other non-Stock classes anyhow. Perhaps a more obscure '64 Hemi would be the Stock Car ( NASCAR , et alia ) option ; those had a Hemi with a single-four-barrel . I've seen exactly one, and that was more than 30 years ago in a magazine. This'll be a fun project , @gtx6970 !

I wonder if the damage to the 1971 Road Runner , et al., happened when the tooling was being moved from the U.S. to "another place" ?

One of my gripes for decades. The whole licensing deal just smacks of college boy mentality ; college boys of the 1980s (when I first read about the whole then-pending mess of the kit manufacturers paying for a licence for free advertising ).

I'd like to see the car's fender tag. Likewise, how would a de facto special order seat be coded ? Bucket seats with column-shift T-Flite definitely was standard fare with the R/T (at least with the standard 440 Magnum - not sure about the 440+6 and/or Hemi)

I've managed to purchase a couple of my faves from c.1976 - c.1980 (see below) , and am waiting to build 'em once I get my skills up to snuff. - MPC 1978 Chevy Step Side Pickup (2WD version; produced in late '77. That became the Dust Devil by mid-1978, and the basis for all 4WD iterations since) - MPC 1977 Datsun Pickup ( annual from late '76 ; and the c.1980 reissue (whose name I've forgotten) which includes a camper shell ) - MPC 1978 Pinto (Coupe and Wagon) - 1977 Monza (annual) - 1978 Chevette (annual)
