  1. The , uh , "Blue" pill...
  2. I found this AMT/Ertl Cord 1937 Supercharged Phaeton 1/12 scale I don't remember ever having seen either of the latter reissues ( maybe the 1970s reissue in Hinshaw's in Whittier, Ca. ; definitely not the c.1990 reissue ).
  3. Gwyneth Paltrow's "Sunning" routine seems to be in spite of that old adage...
  4. That colour looks like something a seagull would drop on a beach table.
  5. yeah... the influx of "East German Grey" and "Moscow Metallic" is as bland as it gets. Then there's the "Poodle Poop Pearl" on some trucks (seen quite a couple of Colorado in that colour) . On the other end of the spectrum ; the brighter colours don't look right on these monochromatic TupperWare rigs .
  6. I'm sure that there's some none-too-far-removed nomenclature lineage ( haha ). "Hessians" were what everyone called long hair Rockers ; the folks into Heavy Metal. Prosaic truth is that I've never seen any differences between Rock, Punk, Metal, Country, Western, Folk, Blues, R&B, etc., etc., other than fashion choices. Heck, I used to get teased by my peers in elementary school for my wearing of cowboy boots, yet talking about how cool the latest episode of Soul Train was.
  7. All of the Rockers / Hessians in my high school read Hit Parader (mostly). I've purchased maybe a couple of issues of R.S. in the ensuing decades. Last one was an issue on Lou Reed ; prior , the issue on Syd Barrett.
  8. The world famous composite intake manifold on the Ford 4,6 / 5,4 litre engines. The 1991-1997 (-ish) manifold was the worst, with its plastic coolant crossovers. That part was revised and improved for c.1998 - present [?] ; I remember seeing intake manifolds - in factory boxes - with an F8 ( 1998 ) part number. Those have the aluminium coolant crossovers. There was an all-aluminium intake for the 4,6 (not sure if it fits the 5,4) , but it's long ago discontinued . IIRC, it was on the Bullitt models , maybe the Cobra-R as well. The weak link on a durable, powerful engine ( excepting the crummy 3-valve Triton , which is a real piece of it ). I can't wait to replace the intake on my '04 'P71' ( et alia ) Crown Vic. ! yep, it's sweating at the heater hose / coolant crossover on the right-rear of the intake... And, yes, it's being replaced with a Made in the USA part ( Summit Racing ) .
  9. Oftentimes, one wasn't permitted to receive a full tank ; that was due to shortages. Only commercial vehicles, emergency vehicles ( including emergency personnel in their person vehicle ), and city/state/county vehicles were exempt from that (as well as the "odd & even" days' rule ). IIRC, there was a 5 gallon limit - stations' hours were also limited... or until their fuel supplies dried up for the day.
  10. I was 9 , 10 years old when the 2nd energy crisis hit ( I vaguely remember the October '73 - March '74 debacle ) . I seem to remember that diesel fuel was around $0.25 / gallon in '79 , '80 , whereas gas was upwards of $1.00 / gallon ( average ; unleaded cost more for certain ) . Without further ado...
  11. Box Art looks quite nice to me. Reminds me of the boxes that the '72 annuals came in. Notice that it's got the '70 / '71 centre caps , as does the kit's chrome tree ( peruse the photos provided in Tim's link ). Personally, I don't care - I'm going to purchase a set of the Rallye rims from Fireball ( better detail to his offerings anyhow - and that's not my slagging Round2's offering ) , or maybe go for "Day 2" rims ( I've got quite a few sets of Spyder rims, some Keystones , and some Cragars ).
  12. Ever since I watched Maximum Overdrive , I've never heard an air starter the same ! Easily the most frightening scene in the entire movie !
  13. At last... a 1972 Duster ! And, there's NO moulded-in console ! SWEET ! Thank you , @tim boyd, for sharing those photos.
  14. She reminds me of Emily's dad :
  15. Don Steves Chevrolet sponsored Force for a long time. I remember seeing his Mustang at the dealership back in '97, '98 ( I worked there from 1994-1998 ). Nice, friendly feller, too.
  16. That's the original's box art ( note the MPC 500 and the General Mills marques ) , which leads me to believe that that's merely a placeholder image. Would be really cool if the Arlen Vanke decals were included for this new-tooling issue !
  17. Very good then. I see the differences now . Not being familiar with the unique hubcaps , I didn't pick up on the original comparison.
  18. Hubcaps (kit) vs. wheel covers ( 1:1 example )
  19. This guy's videos are sooo much fun ! Firstly, they're de facto ASMR . Secondly, he has a gorgeous feline companion ; a richly-coloured Calico who makes appearances here and there
  20. There are a couple of video tutorials about fixing just the offending relay and its pins ( i.e., resoldering them ; installing new relay ) . That's the route that I'm going to take. * my apologies to the O.P. , @niteowl7710 , for unintentionally taking your post off-topic.
  21. NICE ! Unbelievable stuff there ! '63 LeMans ?!?!?! Incredible !!! My finances definitely are not safe this time around ( Lighting Control Module repairs for my 1:1 Crown Vic be darned ! )
  22. Well, there are two of those rare rascals... Underwear smoking : engaged .
  23. 1969 part number on that scoop C9GB-16056-C .
  24. Firstly, I'm glad that you're okay physically. Too bad that you couldn't part it out - lots of CVPI-only equipment on those ( Certified Calibration speedometer ; dash trim where the centre trunk-release button is ; driver-side door panel... just to name a couple ). Heck, I'd buy the Lighting Control Module from you ! The one in my '04 has a bad relay - rebuilt ones are $300 my cost.
  25. Denatured Alcohol for brush cleaning .
