Tamiya panel line accent
Brutalform replied to ksnow's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Never used the Tamiya Accent over enamel or lacquer, but always under it with no problems. After scribing door and trunk lines, I add it to the deepened lines, right to the bare plastic. After it dries, excess is removed with Tamiya enamel thinner. Shouldn’t be a lot of cleanup as the Accent flows nicely into the grooves by capillary action. Sometimes a second or third application will get the lines really dark. Then I do all my priming and painting. The accent still will show through. These bodies have the Accent treatment. -
Beautiful Duster drag car.. You got the stance, wheels, paint, perfect. Nice job on this one.

This is an old Revell/Monogram RR I built quite a few years ago. This is going to be a rebuild, but with a Hemi this time around. I plan on disassembly tomorrow, then into the purple pond it goes. Sure beats buying another kit, as the prices are going up on these. I plan on using wheels, tires, and Carter carbs, from Fireball. Still haven’t decided a donor engine yet. Possibly a Moebius Hemi, or a 1:24 Hemi from a Cuda Kit. Hope I can get the old paint off.

Isn’t the PCV valve on the drivers side on the 70 hemi RR? -
Hemi in 1:24 scale.

Thanks John. That’s one thing I do have is many fantastic carbs from Fireball. I have Hemi, max wedge, and various other Holley carbs. Im just gonna build the best Hemi I can with the parts I already have. I’ll strip the covers and go with the black look. All I might have to buy is decals for the air cleaner. -
Hemi in 1:24 scale.

Thanks Guido, and Bill. Good idea on measuring the valve cover. I suppose the engine being slightly off would not be a big deal, as compared to tires, and wheels, Good advice. -
I’ve been away from the bench for a while, but plan on getting some of my WIP projects done real soon. Been busy with house things. I was wondering if there is a decent Hemi offered in 1:24 scale? Just pondering a 1970 Hemi Roadrunner in the near future. I have a few in 1:25 scale, and even a few extra Moebius Hemi engines lying around, but all are 1:25. Any help as always much appreciated.

Organizing Evergreen strip stock. Super easy
Brutalform replied to LDO's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I just tack them up on a cork board, along with a lot of other parts, and things. I find it easier to just look up to see what I need as compared to digging through a drawer, or container. -
Front Suspension for Scratch Build Chassis
Brutalform replied to GeeDub's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Glenn, maybe look into the Revell 85-2046 Pro Sportsman 55 Chevy? The kit has a nice tubular drag race suspension set up, complete with the rack and pinion steering, large headers, and a bunch of other great parts. Or at the very least, download the instructions from the kit, and maybe that might give you a general idea on how to place all the styrene tubing/rod, whatever you choose to scratch build it with. -
Also, authorities found a body believed to be Naya Rivera from that lake in California.

She was suffering for two years with it. John Travolta lost his girlfriend, Diana Hyland to the very same disease in 1977. Also his son Jett died from a seizure about ten years ago. Very sad news.

Looking good Rick. I have a few of these kits. One being built with a pro street chassis, that allowed me to steal the two kit supplied rear ends to replace the Moebius 65 Plymouth’s small, out of proportion rear.

Looking like it’s off to a great start. I’m sure you’ll pull it off just fine. The 61 is the only one I never built. I literally have at least ten 60 Starliner bodies laying around with the chassis missing from them. Built many 62,63, and 64’s.

Nice to see the final reveal, Seth. After following your build, I’m currently looking for this kit for a decent price. Looks amazing. Still can’t get over how great that wheel and tire combination looks. Everything looks in perfect order.

"Holy Grail" Models?

Will do. Not totally sure which way the build will go. I’ll keep you in mind.
