  1. Decided to move along and tackle another project sitting around. After I figured the rear suspension out, this one kinda sat around. Anyway, I don’t know who owns this car that gave me the inspiration to build this, but, in my opinion, is one of the nicest, cleanest, red, Hemi Darts I ever came across. I hope mine comes out pretty close to it, except mine will have different rims. I’ll be updating more as I move along, but this is where I am at right now. Here is a pic of the subject car.
  2. That looks fantastic with the decals on it. Don’t get me wrong, you did an excellent job on the build, but the decals really did it justice. I just love the old S/S cars.
  3. Wow... Joe, I can’t believe I missed this under glass. I haven’t been on the board lately. Your work on this build is absolutely beautiful. Well done my friend.
  4. Your last Maverick was a very cool project. I’ll be watching this one also. I have a mint Johan 70 Maverick Stock/ Funnycar, but I’d like to get another Maverick that is a bit more less expensive to build. The long time you put into the other car, definitely shows, and was well worth the effort.
  5. Very nice car and subject. Your build represents the real car perfectly. I love those old S/S cars.
  6. Thanks for the positive replies. I appreciate it.
  7. Thanks Tim. It’s a pretty straight forward build. The front windshield isn’t the best fit, IMO. Really no glitches though. I think it’s a well engineered kit.
  8. And here is the Reynolds car...
  9. Finished up the very last two of my TBolts I had on the bench for a while. This one, and the Reynolds Ford car. All of my decals are finally depleted. You all might think I’m nuts building all of these TBolts, but a while back I was lucky enough to get a huge lot of TBolt parts. And after using decals I already had, plus buying some of Jack Smiths, believe it or not, I’m way ahead on the overall cost of all of these builds. I still have a couple sealed kits I’ll just hang onto. And a bunch of odd parts still.
  10. Personally knowing several mail carriers, and after speaking with them, and the postal workers at the counters at a couple local offices, there seems to be two major problems. They all seem to blame the same things. One is the virus, as more people are now buying online more than ever. Also the virus affecting the health of workers. Some are short staffed over it, at a time where more people are needed. And the other problem is the postmaster general, DeJoy and the upper management not knowing anything about how to run the postal service. I waited over a month for a very valuable book that I’m grateful it arrived without damage. Usually when something sits, or gets tossed around at a post office for a month, has a good chance of being destroying the mail. I sure feel terrible for the people who rely on the postal service to get their medical supplies and medications. Bad enough there is a virus, but also dealing with incompetence at the top.
  11. As another option, you can use Vallejo paint. Just carefully mask, and brush it on. The brush strokes level nicely, unlike the Tamiya acrylics, and if you make a mistake, it will wipe off with water before it dries. If you have a steady hand, you might be able to skip the masking. Just use the “air” version, so thinning with water isn’t necessary.
  12. Another car with that M/T 427 Hemi https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MFVirSvJOC8
  13. And my completed build. I did some extra details on the interior, with a harness, and scratch built AutoMeter tach. Had to make door windows, to apply the decals to. Hard to see the interior when it’s done. The wheels are resin pieces that I had that came closest to the real cars wheels. Decals are Top End ( Jack Smith).
  14. This build has been sitting around for too long. I had a lot of it completed, but didn’t have time to get all of the sub assemblies together. Wanted to make it look like the real car as much as I could. I didn’t have all of the correct sponsor decals, so I just used what I had. It’s not exact but this is the way it will stay I suppose. First a few pics of the real car I was lucky enough to find. It’s a legit TBolt that runs low 9s these days, from what I’ve read.
  15. Some Thunderbolts, and other Fords.
  16. Bought two sheets from BMF and they arrived in perfect condition. The two wrinkled sheets that I returned for a refund STILL didn’t arrive to the destination yet, thanks to that idiot postmaster Louis DeJoy. The mail is moving terribly slow. It took me 28 days to receive a package that was sent priority. Priority normally takes only a couple of days, but now, the way the mail is moving, it’s taking 3-4 weeks! I feel sorry for the folks that get their medication in the mail. SMH.
  17. Super cool looking pro stock builds. With those particular kits, you have a small fortune sitting there.
  18. I ordered SA mag before they shut down. I received three issues of SA, then I got three issues of Finescale, which I didn’t even look at, and went right in the trash. Once again you pay for this, but they give you that!
  19. I thought it was hilarious that he played Principal Squiggman in Scary Movie. A parody of Henry Winkler playing the principal in Scream. I agree with the above. Lenny and Squiggy were the only good part of Laverne & Shirley
  20. I was hooking up a new monitor for my computer, and when i was finished putting the screws in the back of the screen, it slipped and I jerked my arm hard enough for my elbow to push the body up against my paint rack.
  21. Fantastic looking paint job. I’m still tossing around the idea of buying an air brush. IIRC this particular kit has some fit issues with the front grill and radiator support.
  22. It upsets me to say, that this body got broken. I’m beginning to seriously dislike resin bodies. I had so much time into this body, but, I’m not going to get angry, but just going to move on. At least I have all the rest of the parts to incorporate into another 63 or 64 Galaxie build. Since I still have the decals and everything else, I might even keep my eyes open for another body, down the road. Oh well... time to move on.
  23. This is the route I would go. This stuff seems to be getting harder to find though.
  24. Thanks. Sounds like a great project. Is that the red car with the white and black zebra type stripes on the rear half of the car?
  25. That’s a pretty nice item to have. Ironically the two cars just so happen to be on the cover. Does it cover all of the results inside? I also have decals to do the Gas Ronda car as well, but not until I get another kit from the Bay at a decent price. I’ve recently been adding some older rare Johan and AMT kits to my collection, since I’ve had some extra cash.
