1964 Plymouth Savoy lightweight questions
Brutalform replied to Brutalform's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I dunno Bill, this JF body looks pretty good to me. What was the problem with yours exactly? This one seems a bit of wavy under the trunk trim, but should be an easy fix. I’ll still most likely buy a Bandit one also, since I have a lot of extra parts for these cars. -

Nice job on the screens to make those stacks look realistic. That grill looks 50 times better than the kit supplied piece. (Hemi with the inner light omitted.) I didn’t know there were PE parts for this car. I’ve accent washed mine with different acrylic paints, and it still looked horrible, so I just gave up. -

What other problems, or mistakes on the mold did you encounter? Mine is scheduled to be delivered today. I’ll post up a few pics when it arrives. If I do buy a Bandit, I’ll post pics also., I most likely wouldn’t really recognize any proportion problems, like a wheel opening that was off slightly, but maybe the trim could be repaired by sanding, and adding a strip of styrene? -
Almost done now. Can’t wait to see it totally completed.

Just received a reply from Kenny. His 64 sedan is available. If the one I purchased is worst than the pics showed, I’ll probably be ordering one. -

Mine off eBay too. Bandit has a nice looking body, but he is still getting caught up on the orders he is behind on. I emailed him, to see if I could order one. I’m sure might take a while to respond though, with being behind in orders and all. -

I kinda wish I had two sedan bodies now. I’d like to do both as sedans. -

Thanks Bill, for the info. Were the interiors similar to The California Flash 65 Belvedere? -
Thanks... Here is another one I like to watch. Nuts!

A quick question or two for the knowledgeable Mopar people on the forum. I have a resin 64 Plymouth sedan body. I also have a grill with only one headlight per side. I also have the Lawman kit, and several Lindberg Dodge kits for parts. Was the car with the one headlight grill, a Hemi only car. Or could there be a max wedge car also built with that single light grill.? Are these both cars lightweights? I’ve seen max wedge lightweights in some of my searches. Basically would the resin sedan body be better suited for the one headlight Hemi lightweight car, and just build the lawman as a max wedge lightweight? Any input on interiors would also be greatly appreciated. I hope my questions are not too confusing.

Yea, there is this black 1960 Impala or Bel Air thats even more brutal. If this were my car, I’d try to get that rear to settle down with an anti roll bar, or something. Some E.T. Is being left on the table, I’m sure.

I enjoy reading and collecting Stephen King First Edition novels. I have about 55 total, and everyone is in near fine to fine condition. The only two that are not first editions are the Carrie, and The Shining on the very top shelf. They are book club editions. As soon as I can afford true first editions of those two, (which will cost approximately between $2000 and $3000) the collection will be complete enough for me. I generally enjoy “horror” in many forms. Also keeping my humidor filled with my favorite Honduran, Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Cuban cigars is another hobby Ive enjoyed for many years.

That’s what I thought after looking at pics on the web. I’m sure a few people probably adapted them to their max wedge engines as well. Its a cool looking air cleaner.

Looking good. Real good. That silver really laid down nice.

The item I was really interested in more than anything, was the louvered hood for the AMT Arnie Beswick 62 Catalina. I didn’t see it anywhere on the pages. I’ll be giving him a call also. -
Looking fantastic so far, Gene. I noticed you have the doors drilled. What handled do you plan on using? I was considering buying some from Fireball, but just decided to foil mine. I’ll definitely be following this build.

Old fashioned customer service. I like that. -
Never mind, I just searched and it was a funny car from Revell in 1989. My bad.

Wasn’t there a model kit of a red 57 car? Maybe Ron Christian from back quite a few years ago? If so that would be a good foundation for a build.

Yea, it’s amazing how fast these cars are going. Cool vid.

I knew that car lookers familiar. A vid of him and one of our local engine builders, Andy Jensen. Andy did my block and balancing on my old street and strip car. But my car was nothing even close to these monsters. Mine was 5 seconds slower... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=46qd7uR5fhk

And a big thanks to everyone who helped me out here. I really appreciate it.
