  1. Got this last week. I built one in the 70's and was missing a few parts until I found this one on the Bay.
  2. Here's a few from over the years. 56 F100 was wired in early 70's & the yellow Courier was done in the 80's. I was using sewing thread for plug wires & chromed elastic thread for braided hose! All the others were done in the mid 90's & early 2000's.
  3. My parents owned a low mileage 1965 Impala. The 283 was painted orange. The also bought a brand new 1971 GMC van in Sept of 70 and it's 350 was orange. Have a good friend that owns an original 1972 Cheyenne pickup with a 402. It is also orange. My 77 Suburban's 454 is blue.
  4. Ok, that explains the Johnny-Lightning on the bottom of the box. Never seen them before. Thanks
  5. I have never seen a 69 Boondocker Blazer kit before. The model looks like the diecast that I believe was red on the box. Anyone ever seen this model kit? Could it be a 1-off box? Very strange. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amt-Boondocker-Chevy-Blazer-Kit-T200-ALL-PUT-TOGETHER-AND-HAS-BEEN-OUT-OF-BOX-/291740451171?hash=item43ed160163:g:tusAAOSwgn5XE-IW
  6. Just received this in todays mail from good friend Robert Burns! I started building it around 1997 or so. I traded it off back then for a pile of model parts but regretted it ever since. I tried getting it back when it was sold to another modeler, but no luck. Robert ended up with it & gave it back to me. Looks like nothing has been done to it since I built it! I used 2 old MPC Dodge 4x4 pickups for the cab & bed. The top rear was made from a 1/24 Ramcharger 4x4 & some scratch building. Rear fenders started as 96 Chevy dually. I rescribed them to look more like the Dodge body lines. I do want to finish this one! Brad
  7. Couple more I forgot about. Mako Shark is complete but is a mess. The Falcon is a mess too,but I have some parts to make it complete again.
  8. I have always kept my spare parts in parts bins. I have had the one that is on the right side of this picture since the 70's & just recently found another that is very similar. I also have begun to put a bunch of models into zip-lock baggies if they are missing their original boxes. The other picture shows the custom wood cabinet my dad built for me in 1969. It has mostly bigger parts & tires in it now. Bruce, I love that old cabinet. What are it's dimensions?
  9. I inherited a bunch of models from a good friend a couple years ago. They were her dads and he built them in the early 60's and 70's. Many are kinda rare & I have a few of the original boxes as well. I have been able to repair a few of the lesser messed up models & have them on the shelf, but here's a few of the ones that I will be restoring. Some were built & then torn apart way back when like we all seemed to do,lol. I am lucky to have been able to locate most of the parts in his old parts bins & mine & also off Ebay. I promise to keep you posted on their progress. Brad
  10. 1963 was the 1st year for a Corvette hardtop.
  11. Here's another Monogram 32 Ford. I started this Boyd look rod in the late 90's. Really need to get back on it.
  12. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing!
  13. This model kit has always been a favorite of mine. Never have been able to get one as they usually command a big price. Your model is beautiful. I love the colors you have used. Awesome build!
  14. I have built a bunch of these over the years. I really love their 32 Ford roadster kit.
  15. Great build! Pretty sure that was the late Tom McMullen's "Tom's Tub II" project car they built in his Street Rodder magazine in the 80's.
  16. There was no character line from 1971-76. The character line started in 1977 & continued till 1984. From 1984 on, the line continued onto the front doors.
  17. I too built one of these in the 70's when they came out. I still have a couple pieces of it. I also have an unbuilt one on the shelf. Been trying to get the Heavy Hugger Camaro, but they are always too much.
  18. I have always loved Project X. First time I saw it was in the early 80's at a Super Chevy Sunday event at OCIR. Sadly, I never took any pics. I later saw it in 2004 at another SCS event in Pomona. The car had a tuned port big block at that time. Not sure what year this picture is from, but I know that Tony Nancy did the interior. Only pic I could find online. They should have left the car alone. Is ruined now.
  19. Beautiful build with crazy detail.
  20. Hey Mark, The hard top body I have is an MPC. It has molded in Rally Sport SS emblems on the sides of the fenders & also 396 emblems molded on the front of the fenders. I have an old AMT 1968 Camaro convertible box along with the Mod Topper decals. Any idea if that kit would have had that hood on it?
  21. Need help figuring out what this hood is from. I have a few parts from an old MPC 68 Camaro convertible & believe this is the hood from it. I also have an old AMT 1968 Camaro RS-396 Rally Sport hard top body. The hood fits the AMT body. I know these early Camaro's were similar between the MPC & AMT. Any help is appreciated,Thanks.
  22. Nice pictures. thanks for sharing.
  23. I recently got a mostly complete AMT Crazy Horse Pinto model. I built one of these when they were new in the 70's. First picture is the model I just got & the second picture is the parts I had in my parts bin from the 70's build. Can't wait to build this one again.
