I was going thru some old parts today & have no idea what these hoods & glass parts are for. The blue hood is molded in black. Any idea on what they fit? Thanks for any help.

I have been gathering parts to rebuild the Datsun 620 model I built in the 70's and later stole parts from. Also just picked up another 620 to build.

I have had my pictures over on Fotki for over 14 years. There have been a few hiccups over the years,but for the most part I am happy. My friend Dave Lindsay was on Fotki also, but now has a picture site on Flickr so that might be another place for you to look at for storing your pictures.

Nice build Dave. I agree with your comments. I built this Revell 57 Chevy in the 70's & I am going to rebuild it some 43 years later.

Thanks for the parts offer, but the picture is deceiving. The wheel well openings are in good shape. I just need to sand away whats left of the old skirts.

Just got this 1962 Chevy II convertible. Was a glue bomb,but I was able to get it apart without ruining it. It was Ford powered,lol.It needs a few parts,but will look good behind my 63 wagon.

The shells are different in looks & size. The Luv is 1/24 & the Datsun is 1/25.

Nice job so far on the rebuild. I am in the process of rebuilding my red Poison Pinto I built in 1971. That one looks like the Pinto Street Rod kit that came out in 1977. The Green & Red versions of the Poison Pinto didn't have a hood. The decals for the Poison Pinto model are available on Ebay. Have not seen any decals for the Street Rod version.

Not sure how I missed this thread before today. Terry, I love every one of your projects. Can't wait to see some of them finished. Really makes me want to drag out my old big rigs & build!

I recently inherited the same old MPC kit. I think it's a 1933,not 32. Mine is complete & will be rebuilt also. Keep us posted. Brad

Nice build! That black finish looks a mile deep. I built a mild custom version of this kit last year and it did have a bunch of sink marks that needed attention.

The early Econoline vans/vanups were produced from 1961-1967. The Mid Ford Econolines, body style changed to the one like the Motor City Resin kit in 1968 and stayed like that thru 1974.

That is a good question. My plans are to rebuild a bunch of my now junker models I built growing up. I have never thrown anything out & have been piecing together all the models I tried to destroy over the years. Also, I have a few early 60's models that were given to me in various states of disrepair. I want to rebuild all of these too. Guess I am on a nostalgia trip this year.

I am getting ready to build a 70's Mustang II kit & want to put a 460 Ford engine in it. What kit would have a good donor 460 engine? Thanks for any help.Brad

The AMT Chevy vans all had them. Here's a pic of them on a 72 pickup I did.

Nice build. Brings back good memories. That was the 1st truck & trailer kits I built when they came out in the 70's.

If I won the Powerball tonight, I would disappear,but before I did, I would head to Utah & get the new International Model Car Builder's Museum built.

I looked on Ebay & the 65 is in fact the AMT kit.

I inherited a bunch of old models & parts a few years ago & since I am not a Mopar guy, I have some questions about a couple models. First is the white 1965 Dodge Coronet 500. It appears to be missing the stock front grill,bumper & some trim between the rear taillights. It has a screw chassis & I do believe it to be an old AMT kit. Is there any kit that I can steal the missing parts from? The second kit is a 1964 Plymouth Fury 440. Not sure if it's an AMT or maybe JoHan kit. It has a broken rear bumper & I will be needing a replacement. Found the hood scoop in the parts. Would it go with either of these Mopars? Last is the old screw chassis. Any idea what kit it might be from? Thanks for any help. Brad

When I was younger, I used to think you could never have too many model kits. My late wife never complained about my collection and contributed to it whenever she could. Now that I am back building models after a 10 year or so hiatus, I do think I have too many kits. Never going to get them all built. Your collection looks small to me so I would say no, you do not have too many models. Build,build,build!

The stock rims in any of the old MPC Dodge 4X4 kits are 3/4" and also the 8-spoke rims in the older MPC Jeep Commando measure 3/4".

I built my first semi truck model in 1971. It was the AMT Watkins W925 Kenworth & Watkins refer trailer. The truck & trailer were repainted 2 times back then. I still have both of them in pieces today. One day they will get rebuilt. The first pickup truck model I built was in 1974 and was Revell's 1956 Ford F100. That model got rebuilt & painted 3 times and I still have it today. I also have purchased the same kit to build like the 2 early versions I built way back when.

I had always wanted a paint rack but could never locate one anywhere. Last year I happened to mention it to a friend, & she just happened to have one! She had owned a 2nd hand crafts store & when they closed, it went into storage. She was nice enough to give it to me along with 5 model kits that she had saved all these years. I cleaned the rack up best I could. Still might have it powder coated as I have a good friend in the business. I am however looking for the complete paint labels for my rack. A couple of them were torn in half & missing & I need to replace them. Anyone have a picture of them so I can see what the paint colors I am missing are?

I think the Lindberg 53 is a nice kit. Here's a picture of an one that I started customizing way back in 2004. Was a poorly built stocker when I got it.
