  1. The amusing thing about people trying to swoop in and buy the entire Clearance section to resell is of course this is happening nationwide at 822 stores, and so now there will be a glut of kits that...well had to be clearance'd out because they couldn't sell them at the 40% off price. Which of course means the price of any of those kits is now $10 max, and when you figure out all the fees you pay on eBay, people will either end up sitting on a pile of stuff they can't sell, or barely break even in the process.
  2. North Coast Automotive Modelers is still up and running. They meet 1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Garfield Heights Civic Center on Turney @ 7pm.
  3. Starting to see this one pop up on the usual eBay retailers, should be on the shelves locally in the next week. This is one that I'll go pick up for sure.
  4. Yeah I agree, making it right the first time would be the best answer. There are a couple of schemes for the Olds that I'd be interested in, but I don't necessarily know that I'd buy one until the fixed parts are available.
  5. The correct parts are in 3D design phase now. Are they supposed to hold the finished kits for 3 months or so more? I mean getting right the first time is obviously the answer...
  6. Why would Round2 reissue kits every 4 years instead of 9? People moan enough to when it's once a decade. I mean how many would you really buy if the kit was reissued that often. Also when there's so many copies of something floating around - Ala the '32 Phaeton that the resale market can't even support $8 prices why would they reissue the kit for effectively 3x as much. Once again you're proving you have absolutely no idea how tooling is designed and run, or any phase of kit manufacturing for that matter. You can't just grab random engines out of things when the parts are scattered across 3 parts runners from another kit. If you're talking about packing the parts pack engines into kits, what incentive do they have to that when they clearly make more money selling those separately.
  7. Pro Modeler is Revell - now Blitz's trademark. Pro Shop were pre-painted, and there was nothing Prestigious about the Prestige kits other than some little car show trophies and the "rope" stanchions. Recycling meaningless names for the sake of doing?
  8. With the AutoCar and Coke Trailer that were shown last month, they've got 8 kits coming out for July.
  9. Actually they're in the process of designing the correct rear suspension, another set of wheels, three different ride height spindles, and spacers to adjust the track width. That will be sold as a separate kit for people who want to use such items in other NASCAR kits, and will be included in the upcoming Monte Carlo kit as duplicate parts to fix the Olds.
  10. If you want a '32 Phaeton so much, go on eBay and buy some. Those kits are selling for less than $5 in some cases, meaning you could get 4-5 of them for the price of a new Round2 reissue.
  11. Kit are supposed to be shipping out today. They have done a fairly extensive series of videos on Facebook detailing the running of the tools that would be quite educational to some of the folks here.
  12. Keep in mind the Baywatch Toyota is 1/20.
  13. If it were that damaged I'd take it back to the point of purchase and get a refund that way. Revell was always horrible about replacing bodies requiring a mountain of proof or sending the body back to them at your expense so they could "inspect" it. No doubt because losers were demanding fresh bodies left and right after painting disasters and rewn'd it for everyone.
  14. And again they're reissuing 8 kits in July...which is about double to triple their normal monthly output. I don't know what else you expect them to do exactly. Unless it's become the "new" Revell and start making new tools, which shant be happening.
  15. Except when you buy something at a bankruptcy auction you receive the property free of all liens, holds and encumbrances. Its not like if you buy a car at a Repo auction you pay back the car note, or if you were to buy a house out of a bankruptcy auction, you wouldn't be responsible for the prior owner's mortgage. The "estate" of Hobbico is responsible for settling the financials, and everyone had the ability to file injunctions with the court through the process (like Ford has done) if they're not happy with the amount their receiving. I also suspect that RevellAG has a relationship with the same H.K. facilities since they were also using them prior to trying to tool things in Poland - which begat us the subpar Panamera.
  16. From everything I've read the other bid options required financing, whereas the Blitz deal was paid in cash. The bankruptcy court, yes could have decided not to approve the deal and send the ball back to Hobbico's court - but at the same time Hobbico is the one that chose the bidder, not the court. I'm suspect of any individual and/or group that couldn't come up with what amounts to 3.1 Million in cash up front AND then have any sort of viable future thereafter. I mean if you think about it, if they didn't buy the existing inventory, and make a play for RevellAG - then the purchase price of Revell was $100,000.
  17. Tower Hobbies was sold to Horizon along with Great Planes with all of the R/C manufacturing.
  18. The tattered remains of Hobbico have filed to have their case converted to Chapter 7 to finish bleeding out the accounts. Pretty sure if you read back the original pages of this thread several people swore that this was a re-organization and never going to be a liquidation. What a backwards slide into the end it's been since January.
  19. They used an Alpine because all of the "spy gadgets" wouldn't fit in the car with the V-8.
  20. '87-'89 would be the mild refresh models. Fujimi made an '86 Alpina as part of their Enthusiast Series 635s.
  21. The Drag Team is MSRP $63.95
  22. I know you didn't, but someone thanked you for the "update".
