  1. Over at Beemax we got this teaser on their FB Page That would be a Gr. A Mitsubishi Starion on the left, and a 2nd Gen Mitsubishi Lancer A175 Rally car on the right. The Starion ran in multiple series including JTCC, the Guia Race of Macau, and also did quite well in SCCA (of course that would require you to convert it to LHD). Then in things we know are coming, here are photos of the Audi, Porsche 935 K2, and Lancia Delta S4. Of note the 935 in engineered so that the back half of the car is effectively separate pieces, so expect more Kremer variants in the future.
  2. The show is open, so let's take a look around - courtesy of Masahiko Nakasone First up some new announcements for NuNu Hobby. Two more versions of the M6, one with the front fender vents that are part of the 24hrs of Nurburgring Endurance package, the other a "Sprint" package which might include solid plates to cover the lower endurance driving lights, or might just be a different livery - this team had the former DTM Champion Martin Tomczyk driving for it in at least one race. Secondly the announcement of a new kit - the 2016-2018 Porsche 911 GT-3 R Release Dates are - Falken M6 - June Team Italia M6 - August 911 GT-3 R - "We hope in 2018"
  3. More than likely (assuming body shape and proportions), but when MFH decided to make a 1/24 version of their 1/12 full detail Ford GT, the Revell kit wasn't known yet.
  4. They'll close the U.S. Office and import DTM racing...
  5. I appreciate that you'd want to keep that straight, but at the same time plenty of us have done real business with Gravity and have the paint to prove it. You might wanna slow that sanctimonious roll down a bit considering that pretty much the only reason Splash exists is because of the hole Mate dug himself into and your trying to capitalize on his misstep to try to peel off his customer base.
  6. Maybe German Venture Capitalists can buy it for pennies on the dollar...
  7. Well the rub really is the '56, '57 & '58 Cadillacs are pretty far apart in terms of their styling. So even if the chassis/suspension/running gear was identical - I profess no knowledge of that - you're talking about at least three bodies needing to be done to get three different versions out of the base of the tooling. I suspect there are interior variances within those 3 years as well. No one year is going to be able to stand alone as it's own tooling - because what else are you doing? A convertible, a different trim level? Once again we're tooling at least body inserts if not entirely new bodies. The economics of selling a Cadillac, no matter how nice they look vs. selling truckloads of Tri-Five Chevys to casual weekend modelers picking up kits at Hobby Lobby made THAT series of kits an easy decision. Personally I'd LOVE to have a Seville from each year, but can you convince 14,998 other people to buy one too? Otherwise you're talking a low volume, single use tool, and prices in the MENG/Belkits/Ebbro range which frankly the whiny loud majority would dust their tighty whiteys if you start expecting them to pay $55 for a model kit of anything. Unless you make curbsides out of them, and I could already hear the outrage as I typed those letters.
  8. Why can't we recklessly speculate? It's the only fun some people around here on going to be able to have in regards to their feels about the death of the U.S. division of Revell, at least in the short term. I suspect many people will not be particularly thrilled with the actual reality of the situation.
  9. It's been "June" ever since the Hobbico Bankruptcy and most of the kits were delayed. Also the 302 is getting an entirely new body, otherwise you'd be obliterating the ability to reissue it in it's current form (which considering the nose...).
  10. Great example of not knowing what you have...that's "vintage" in the sense of being from what 10-12 years ago? Seller proceeds to say the company is out of business, when in fact Okey is still going to shows and is a "distributor" for Best Resins - who is certainly still in business.
  11. This is on the pile of things to be released in May.
  12. The DS21 is 1000Y more expensive on MSRP - 8800 vs. 7800 (for the DS19). Final pricing will determine on your vendor choice and their discount, I seem to recall paying about $67 for the DS19, but the exchange rate was better then too.
  13. So dare I say FINALLY, this kit is being put up for pre-order. Not for the faint of heart or the weak of wallet, this one is gonna have a price tag between $75-80 directly from Japan.
  14. The only "civilian" Evo that Tamiya has done is the Evo 6. They did rally versions of other models, but only the one in street trim. From the Evo 6 perspective I'd argue that it comes down to what you're looking for in a kit. The Tamiya kit was made during an odd time where they put metal axles front and back (also effects the Bugeye WRX street kit) and so the chassis is more simplified than you might expect. The Hasegawa Evo 6 has a sister Rally car kit, so the interior can be found to be lacking as the base interior serves both kits. After that your comparing Hasegawa Evos against Fujimi Evos, and that's like bringing a spork to a gunfight in terms of how bad the Fujimi Evo 3, 4 & 5 are compared to the Hasegawa kits. Hasegawa is the only company to make a Lancer and Evo II, although they're some of the most expensive curbside kits out there as they haven't been run since the early 1990s. Only Fujimi made a street Evo 7, 8, & 9, and then Aoshima is the only 10 in town.
  15. Sounds like Heller name and kits will go on, just not "Made in France" anymore. Be interesting to see if the Estefette actually gets released since the tooling for it was done back in 2016. If they're going to outsource the production, someone just needs to run plastic through that tooling already and start counting the money.
  16. To me it comes down to the effort. I can mix existing hobby paint to match any shade I want, without having to involve even more toxic chemicals to thin it out. There are also people who get pretty decent results, and a lot more who have endless trouble with them. I'm paying for ease of use and expected performance. Because at some point the low cost option costs more in lost time and stripped paint jobs - which makes it more expensive than the existing product - your mileage may vary
  17. Most people I know who insist on using those cheap acrylic craft paints from Wally World and elsewhere are cutting them with windshield washer fluid. A multitude of tutorials about them exist on YouTube. But even using actual hobby acrylics such as Testors Acryl line or Tamiya Acrylics you have to spray them at a low psi around 15-18.
  18. By and large police departments hate the Taurus, it's a smaller platform than the CVPI, and for the same money they can get the Explorer that will hold all of their gear and has more interior space to boot. GM is no longer selling sedan based police vehicles anymore with the Tahoe being the only pursuit rated option.
  19. Well 10 years ago Ford didn't make a F-150 with a 325HP 2.7 V-6 backed by a 10 speed transmission that gets 25+MPG. You actually have to hunt around and ask to get a V-8 F-150 these days, since there's also the 3.5 Turbo V-6 as an engine option before the 5.0 V-8. All the SUVs and crossovers are using 4cyl or some form of the EcoBoost V-6. Even the Expedition only comes with the Twin-Turbo 6cyl.
  20. Well as is the often repeated refrain around here - Nobody is making you read this thread.
  21. Hasegawa USA has a FB that I believe is unrelated to the actual Hobbico distribution, you might check with them.
  22. The S4 continues to be developed. It's going to be their first kit with an engine, plus the tubular nature of the entire rear "frame", so they want to make sure it's right. The Porsche 935 is being built out for display at Shizouka as well, which just leaves the S4 as the sole unreleased new tool, so I'm very interested to see what off the dream list they'll announce in a few weeks.
