Hobbico - BANKRUPT!
niteowl7710 replied to niteowl7710's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There was the option to purchase RevellAG outside of the rest of Revell. But the sales paperwork says all U.S. related molds, copyrights, websites, et al AND controlling interest of Hobbico Germany the sole owner of Revell GMbH. -
Hobbico - BANKRUPT!

That's because it's the Revell GLOBAL Lot...it's all of it both German & US Revells. Based on researching the parties named in the agreement along with those who signed off as managing directors they're all members of a German Investment company called Quantum Capital Partners. Guessing Blitz is a holding company that members of the Quantum team manage as the purchasers are listed as the CEO and Managing Director of Quantum, and on the dotted line the CEO & Head of Finance for Quantum are the Managing Directors for Blitz. https://www.quantum-capital-partners.com/en.html EDIT - Blitz was "founded" on January 20th, which would be 10 days after Hobbico filed for Bankruptcy. Makes me wonder if these guys see this as an investment to be rectified and spun off for a profit, or if we possibly lucked out into a company of relatively well-off German businessmen who really like plastic models. -
The only thing even vaguely automotive at Shizouka for Tamiya is a new 1/12 Kawasaki Motor-cicle.

In regards to the Modeler's Resin stuff - it's if nothing else, exceptionally well packed. I have the newer WRX STi, Honda S660, & NiSMO 370Z and they're all some really nice pieces that I think are worth the money, especially considering what some places sell transkits for these days. With the D'Station & MOLA R35s coming out, that will allow the modeler to "field" the entire Nissan lineup from the GT500 Division of Super GT in 2014. There's a deep dark corner of my modeling hoard that is hoping they go onto the NSX-GT and Lexus Super GT cars from 2014 so I could build a diorama of the entire GT500 starting grid. There's a pretty decent cross section of kits and aftermarket decals to do a chunk of the GT300 field from 2014 as well. Camry? HECK YES!

I have to say I'm relatively proud of the people on here within this thread for keeping things more or less on track and out of the dumpster fire of speculation. -

Auction resumes tomorrow at Noon, Hearing on the Auction is on the 13th. -
And that's not even from this show, that was announced at the Nuremberg Toy Fair.

Yes, we get it, you like that paint line. It may work fine for someone who wants to stick within the paint lines of domestic manufacturers from the 50s-70s, but there isn't a single color there that's applicable for any foreign car, nor any racing specific paint colors. Tru-Color is also not even remotely the same kind of paint as Gravity. Part of the reason Gravity is so popular is how deep the line is in MODERN colors, especially in Porsche, Ferrari & Lamborghini colors, plus a broad range for modern racing applications.

How can we kill this hobby if the companies WON'T DIE?!?!?!? Told ya this sorta thing was gonna take place... -
I'd be inclined to believe we'd see a Toyota Starlet & Nissan Cherry before a 2dr 510. Particularly if they feel like tickling this fancy with the Minor Touring division of the Fuji Grand Champion Series they're delving into with the Civic. Personally I'm happy to see a Moredoor 25GT, and flat out thrilled to see - FINALLY - a modern tooling of an R31. There are a slew of possibilities in that tool both in street and race trim.

From Round2, pretty much. My overall point was the wild rampaging topic change of another one of this guy's threads where he started it to a very specific idea - April 2018 kits and now we've veered off into random things from the past 6 months.
-
Good Lord, these threads are like herding cats. How did we go from April 2018 kits to stuff that was released last Fall?

Hobbico - BANKRUPT!
niteowl7710 replied to niteowl7710's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The "1994" Impala SS is out, it came in during the first week of April. The '53 Belair said Early May last time I looked, so it's probably the "official" kit for April now. Once things hopefully get sorted on Tuesday some clarity can be gained. -
STOP THE PRESS! All new 1977 Oldsmobile NASCAR kit
niteowl7710 replied to DanR's topic in WIP: NASCAR
It's clearly shown with leaf springs on the box art illustration of the chassis. The people at JR say they're tooling a set of truck arms and rear end into the Monte Carlo they just announced to serve as replacements. Might not be THE best choice in terms of solving that problem, but it's fix nonetheless. -

I got one from Omni last night - I bought my airbrush hoses and Quick Disconnects via their eBay account, but not one from Tower as of yet. -
Well keep in mind they just got sold to Pegasus Hobbies, so there's a good chance the inventory of kits - whatever that might be - is currently in transit to the new owners and right now they aren't in possession of any of them.

Hobbico - BANKRUPT!
niteowl7710 replied to niteowl7710's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes part of the sale were all the customer records minus credit card information. Tower Hobbies were transferring the records of over a million people. Which makes you wonder how many regular -like monthly - customers are in that pile. I've only bought a handful of RevellAG kits over the years, maybe 5 total, from them. -
Sorry but THE only reliable place to get information on upcoming releases, is the Auto World website under Future Releases/Pre-Orders. Unless it's on that page with an upcoming release date, it doesn't matter what Chad, or Tower, or Hobby Linc have to say. For example the Corvette and the Toyota Pickup we're both added this week with May release dates, not April.

Hobbico - BANKRUPT!
niteowl7710 replied to niteowl7710's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There was a docket entry today indicating there will be a hearing on the sale of the Global Revell Lot, Revell Germany Lot, and any other partial/remnant pieces on April 10th. -
As far as I know those are the only two options out there for those generation 911s.

I got a couple of sets of wheels from Scale Productions last fall, got them in less than 2 weeks. -

The Estes-Cox to Langfords (Estes Industries) and Hobbico R/C & Distribution to Horizon sales both closed today with approval of the court. The Revell lots "may be sold at a later date"...which posits what will happen to them until then. -
