  1. Actually,,the larger kits are easier to do,,IMO. All the detail work is much larger,,which is easier to see,,and work with. Now it does use up more paint ,,glue ect,,but thats ok. Try one,,you may like doing a 1/16th,,like maybe the Nomad? Heres a 1/8th Entax Bugatti ,,customer build
  2. Actually,,Id like to get the 1/16th 55, sedan convt,,,,AND the Nomad as well,,you can add so much x-tra features to the large kits. Thanks all for the kind comments,,enjoy your works as well!
  3. It could be the pics,,not sure,,but the rear bumper is a bit closer to the rear deck panel after I removed about 1/8 inch from lower portion of bumper for a tighter fit,,maybe thats it. Im not sure what the exact wheelbase is on the 1:1,,but the body overall length hasnt been modified at all. I may get the large Nomad kit also,,that would be cool.
  4. I should at least paint it brown for realisim b4 clear coating it,,,theres an old race car movie from the late 50's called "Johnny Dark" that stars Tony Curtis where they did exactly that to a potato in one of the restraunt scenes,,great movie BTW
  5. This thing still lurks the streets of the motor city,,really cool story behind it,,,
  6. cool idea,,nice build,,theres a guy near here in plymouth mi who does this type of builds on 1:1 bikes ,,I see his bikes at shows around here during the summer months,,really cool to do. Im looking on CL to get a used 1:1 bike of some type and build an old school chopper out of it.
  7. I kindof dig there 1$ cheesy+rice burritos,,,hey I got an idea,,Ill get one of those burritos,,let it dry+ harden,,clear coat it,,add some wheels + a motor and call it " bandito burrito" show rod
  8. cool jet,,great history on these
  9. wow,,those are cool,,didnt even know they made those,,where did you get those?
  10. Thanks guys,,the cragar mags in the kit are really cool,,but youll need your dremel tool to "clean" up some of the mating surfaces,,like bottom of interior bucket, has some ejector mold pin "circles" that got in the way of the flush fit of interior bucket sitting flat on chassis,, had to remove the top of the trans tunnel to get flush fit when placed on chassis,,, and there was a bizzare gap between the rear bumper and rear deck panel when mocked up,,so I had to shorten the lower portion of rear bumper to close up the gap,,not sure why it was like that,,I taped off all the trim and painted instead of foil,,, scratch built a floor shifter,,,,painted the bumpers testors diamond dust quik dry,,and there was some seam gaps with the rear tail lens mating surfaces to the body,,had to hand file a bit to get a tighter fit,,made the steering posable,,but this kit was probably tooled in the 70's is my guess,,so its all part of building these classic kits,,which I am still happy to have on the display shelf,, now on to the T-bolt prostock customer build,,,Cheers!

  14. neat build,,dig that garage set looks good in there
  15. Wow,,been doing some commission builds this month for some folks at roush,,but had time to finish the 1/16 AMT 57' Belair,,it turned out ok,,but there was alot of "fine tuning" and other stuff to get it here. I wont bore us with all of what I had to do,,but it took alot longer than it should have. The color is Tamiya pearl green,,which turns out to be a GM color from back then,,custom mixed paint for the 2 tone interior,,and of course added some x-tras in the engine bay. All in all,,it was a cool kit to do. And worth the purchase price. Keep those plastic creations moving forward! Cheers,,,,S
  16. Neat builds,,now Im off to taco bell and its all your fault. lol nice trike
  17. thanks much,,sorry bout late reply,, after finishing this kit,,I jumped right into the large 1/16th 57' Chevy AMT released,,and when I get goin on a kit,,I dont use internet much,,just for reference pics mostly. Thanks for the comments,,you all build great stuff also! One of the best things about this site is all the great builds that inspire!!! Build On !!
  18. Happy 2021 all,,glad to see 2020 in my rearview mirror. recently finished this AMT 1/16th kit,,added a few x-tras over the holidays. Used testors quikdry blue,,hand painted the rest. As always the large AMT kits go together well,,for the most part,,and look pretty good when done. Wishing you all the best for 2021. S
  19. I think what I should really do is go to my local costume shop,,get the rubber godzilla suit,,put it on ,,and go shopping at walmart and see if anybody notices
  20. the guy is awsome,, I watch his YT stuff whenever I get a chance
  21. ya know I was watching a Rodan vrs Godzilla movie today,{strictly for educational purposes only} and its amazing all the modelset work in those movies,,no CGI at all,,buildings,,cars,,city sets,,oceans..mountians,,operating military vehicles. I think about all the building and work that went into all that,,very impressive.
  22. lol,,I often wonder the same thing,,yes I play/write/perform live ,,do co-writes for screenwriters,,opened for national acts,,play T-40 classic rock in clubs in SE mich...check it out: Im the guy in the blue shirt https://fandalism.com/10kdb/e029
