  1. Looking good Jonathan
  2. Have I woken up in an alternate universe Jonathan? Can't wait to see this progress.
  3. Looks awesome Karl, great build.
  4. Another great build Carl, love the paint
  5. Thanks for posting, Tom
  6. Cheers Nick for a great night. I'll drive the car carefully back to New Zealand
  7. I think the stance and wheel/tyre combo look great Rob
  8. Great photos, thanks for sharing
  9. lookin' good Kekefe, gotta love those Mustangs
  10. The chassis looks great Juan. Don't worry about hiding all that detail - if you follow the instructions you'll be able to lift off the finished body/interior to admire the chassis in all its glory. The body doesn't look too bad in the photos, but if you're like me, the faults will draw your eye to them. I use Tamiya spraycans on nearly all my builds, the red is quite translucent, but the silver will cover anything. If you decide you have to repaint, spray the whole body red, then carefully mask the roof. I use Tamiya masking tape at the colour separation line, and light-tack 3m (blue) for the rest. Apply a light coat of clear to seal the edges of the masking tape, then apply the silver. This will stop any silver bleeding through on to the red. Good luck and keep going . My almost finished build from a while back:
  11. Very nice build Damian I used to use Halfords paint when I lived in the UK, once mastered it gives a great finish.

She's a chip off the old block Brett, a great build and in double quick time too
  13. My only two Model A's, one finished just an hour ago Both have had the doors altered so that they fit flush (don't like the way they fit on the 1:1 cars either ) and are Revell kits.
  14. My second completed build after a bit of modeller's block. Good to be building again It's the Revell Cherry Pie kit, with a bit of kitbashing. As with a previous build, I modified the doors so that they fit flush a la 1932 Fords. The chassis is from the AMT Phantom Vicky, but using the front suspension and flathead engine from the Revell '32 Ford Sedan. The wheels are my current favourite, 'Sovereign' by the good folks at Pegasus. Paint is automotive lacquer with Tamiya clear. Plug wiring and fuel lines add a bit of detail. Thanks for looking.
  15. Got this finished - see Under Glass
  16. That's a great start Juan. Don't worry about the skill level 4 rating, I built the white Tom Kristensen version and it simply fell together . Even those complicated looking rear arches weren't a problem. Just take your time, it's not a race LOL. One tip if I may, you might want to remove the visible mold lines before painting a part, such as on the headers. I usually apply a thin coat of primer to reveal these. They can then be smoothed with sandpaper or a sanding stick before applying colour to the part.
  17. Thanks everyone. After a bit of modeller's block I've really enjoyed my last two builds. Yes James, they are the 'Sovereign' wheel/tyre set. I love these and have a couple more on hand for future projects
  18. Got the chassis finished today, remembered to fit the steering box and built a section of the exhaust from aluminium tube to marry the Revell manifolds to the AMT mufflers.
  19. Looks great Tomo
  20. I like the colour Ben, and agree with white interior/whitewalls. Great start, I've built a couple of these myself, it's a great kit
  21. Wonderful scratchbuilding Jonathan, it's starting to take shape now.
  22. Just about finished the engine, which is the flathead from the '32 Sedan. Only mod is added wiring through short pieces of aluminium tube for looms. Next task is to sort out the exhaust to complete the chassis work. Also gave the paint a quick polish with a sanding cloth, but not going for a super shine on this one.
