That's a shame Pat, I was looking forward to this coming together
-
Started filling the inner fenderwell and basic bodywork, emblem removal etc. Engine fits too (just)

Finally made a start on the Mustang before I return to work tomorrow . Better late than never! Removed the battery etc molded to the inner wing to make some room for the supercharger, and detached the gearbox crossmember which will have to be moved towards the rear.

Hi guys Some great stories here. I haven't actually started on my Mustang yet, but I have done some research - In the early eighties I made my first trip to the US from my home in England, mainly to attend the US Nationals at Indy. We flew with PanAm, and you younger guys may not appreciate this, but there was no entertainment in the seat backs - you could only watch the movie they were showing on the screen in each compartment. You guessed it, the movie on the outbound flight was Cannonball Run! I haven't seen it since those days so thought I had better watch it again on YouTube - great fun. As a result, I intend to enter a second car, the McLaren MP4-12C:

Great builds Ron, well done

I only buy kits that I intend to build or use for parts. As for rare/collectible/high value kits, all kits here are high value . Around US$25 and up plus shipping off a local auction site, $30 off eBay including minimum shipping, and $40 plus at hobby shops for recent releases. I've seen overseas shipping on eBay vary from $11 (thank you, vendors  for a single kit. As you may imagine, I don't buy many kits for parts anymore, and unfortunately don't have a big collection to draw from. Speaking of which, this thread is also a good counterpoint to the one about hoarders.

Hi guys It's already New Year's Day here in sunny NZ, so I can make a start ahead of you LOL This is my project as it stands so far : Happy New Year
-
Quality and quantity Krishna, you have been busy again this year
-
Managed to squeeze in one more build, curbside '62 Electra with Fujimi wheels/tyres, Tamiya clear blue over metallic purple. Happy New Year to all members

How about the overuse of apostrophe's (sic)? I predict there could be a world shortage in 2013 because writer's (sic) are using them in the wrong place's (sic). And how about New Year's that I see so often at this time of year? New Year's Eve? New Year's Day? New Year's Resolution to not misuse the apostrophe??

Must have drunk too much Xmas spirit Nick, Austin T' s Porsche still isn't on the list And yes, my '65 will have Saleen power.

Hi gentlemen I'd like to join in if I may. My entry will be a combination of these two kits: There must be zillions of modified Mustangs in the States, so I'm sure one more will go unnoticed by the boys in blue. As long as I don't have to drive across the Pacific to get there Cheers Paul

I'm speechless - awesome builds
-
Wow Jonathan, your built pile must rival some of the hoarders' unbuilt piles . Great work!
-
Nice work Paul

Thanks Ray. Yes, I believe it's an older restoration but mostly original.

No, it's a pretty good car to start with, just a few bits and bobs.

Too much! Sea freight was just over $2000 to Auckland. If I add in import duties and clearance etc, compliance testing for roadworthyness etc, total cost came to about 2/3 of the purchase price of the car! Still, it was cheaper than buying here in NZ
