Thanks for sharing

I'm lucky to have been twice, and IMHO it is without doubt the best motoring event one could possibly attend, considering the wide range of vehicles, drivers and history on view. As can be seen from the link in the first post, it's not just a car show, they are driven hard by some of the best drivers alive.

Been there, done that - mine has red dash, tan carpet ....but it's your model, your choice

Our club had a trailer night this month, so I thought I would enter this combo. Both are Revell kits using Slixx decals and Tamiya Light Blue Metallic paint. The trailer is a Testors diecast kit. The '68 Dart has basic wiring and the Challenger is OOB. Thanks for looking.

I too have made some progress this last two weeks. I had to finish a trailer combo for my club's theme night, but got some colour on the Maclaren and finished the chassis - good to see it up on wheels but the paint still needs polishing. The trailer combo featured a race car but didn't qualify for this CBP:

Great start Paul

Hi Jonathan Think I'm ready to join in now if I may. My first choice was the Simil R Pescarolo but that can wait after seeing Juan's build , so I'm going with this instead: I thought someone else had chosen this too, but can't see it being built so I'll give it a go. I don't have any alternative decals so this will be a box stock build, although I intend to use the new Tamiya metallic orange that featured on my Cannonball Run Mustang Off to the workbench

Thanks Ryan I used the regular unpainted version, but I presume the pre-painted kit comes with the same set-up - perhaps someone else can confirm?

My model club's latest theme night is to build a convertible not available as a kit or one that wasn't manufactured in 1:1. This is my entry, a 1932 Ford two door convertible, created by removing the roof from a Revell Tudor sedan. Front suspension is from the AMT '32 Vicky, wheels from the new Rat Roaster kit, paint from a Tamiya spray can. Sprinkling of MCG photoetch parts (grill, dash gauge and taillights). Dust added by itself, black is hard to photograph

Thanks for the comments guys. I actually finished this kit but never got round to posting it . Not entirely happy with the fit of the body over the chassis but still looks good on the shelf. MCG photoetch parts were added (grill - a must have on these kits IMO, dash gauge and rear taillights) and a windshield cut from some clear packaging plastic. Thanks for looking.

That looks awesome Jonathan . I hope the pillars work out OK. If you attempt this again, try just bending the posts without applying any heat.

Jimmy Flintstone '32 Ford B400 Body Question
maltsr replied to Bruce Poage's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hi Bruce I built this about 18 months ago using the current Revell '32 kits as a donor. The lower cowl area was a little wide on mine, tried to fix this by heating up the area in hot water, then squeezing together whilst immersed in cold water. Seemed to be ok for a while, but I it has expanded again with age (don't we all ). I used the interior from the Speedwagon kit, fit quite well as I recall, other than that, the body matched up well with the fenders/hood etc. Here's the under glass link http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52712&hl=%2B1932+%2Bb400 I created a build thread on my model club's site here, more info for you http://modelpetrolhead.proboards.com/thread/544/another-1932-ford-on-rails Let me know if I can help any more, this is one of my favourite builds and all-time 1;1 cars. -
Nice job Scott, this is a tough kit to build but you pulled it off. Nice to see it built stock, here's my 'custom' version if I may:

Stupid things we do.

I once tried to use Tamiya Fine Polish as a body filler, couldn't understand why it took so long to harden. I could use the excuse that both tubes are similar and covered in Japanese writing, except one has the words 'FINE POLISHING COMPOUND' in big letters on it -

Hi Carl Thanks for that, I painted the wheels with Warhammer (Games Workshop) paint, used to be called Boltgun Metal, water based and goes on nice n' easy.

Rattle Cans - who still uses them?
maltsr replied to tiking's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
X2 Most of my builds use Tamiya paint, can't get any other hobby spray paints here in NZ Running out of colours though, so have resorted to auto paint rattle cans but really should try spraying them through my A/B - one day -
