  1. Seems to me these responses should distinguish between great guitar performers vs. popular guitar performers. Sometimes they're the same thing. Not always.
  2. Sonny Landreth. "The most underestimated guitarist on the planet."- Eric Clapton.
  3. It sucks that Jesse Ventura (in a court ruling) buffooned 1.8-million out of the guy. Chris Kyle had allegedly damaged Ventura's reputation by letting it slip that, according to the book, Ventura was the unnamed guy he smacked in a bar for badmouthing the Navy SEALS. As if Ventura needed any help damaging his own reputation. That's the sad irony. Yet Kyle, or rather his family, still has to pay. Way to be a public servant Jesse.
  4. This actually is on my computer at work. I'd like to borrow some influences from it for a project.
  5. Good stuff there . Donk isn't an automotive styling, it's a sound effect made when the owners of those cars smack their heads and ask how they ever got roped into spending so much on such foolishness... and still can't really drive anywhere.
  6. Since Liberty Classics already has it as a 1/25 diecast, maybe the plastic makers feel that market's been satisfied.
  7. Nicely done Tulio.
  8. Bogus Bands... it depends on where the scale tips. Foreigner is still going, even though there's only been one original member for years. But Mick Jones was the founder, chief songwriter and vortex since its inception. It's his band to do what he bloody well wants. Fractional bands that come to mind: Credence Clearwater Revisited, The Doors of the 21st Century (Manzarek & Krieger only). There are many internet articles about bands with only one, maybe two remaining original members. Truth is, most bands hit their heyday without all their original members. There are few bands that have not been in constant flux. Almost every classic rock band through the 90's might as well be called a Bogus Band today.
  9. What a loss. One of my all time favorite films was his second, The World According to Garp. Funny how so many people wish for fame and fortune as a path to happiness. But this shows that sometimes even with the world as your oyster, it counts for nothing. Thanks RW for leaving us with a vast body of entertainment we can enjoy for years to come. I don't think his death will overshadow his accomplishments.
  10. But that's part of racing too. Unless both cars are wrecked at the same spot where it's convenient to check on each other, I've never seen a driver circle the track, return to the wreck and park his car amidst the throng of rescue vehicles, as if there's anything he can do but get in the way. Expressions of care between drivers comes later when it can be done appropriately. Frankly, had TS stopped I would have thought it's just a disingenuous public display of concern when there's nothing he can do but be seen by the crowd "caring." I feel very bad for you Bill and anyone else there who had to see it. I saw a guy get hit at our local track and it was sickening. I completely sympathize with your concerns.
  11. That's pretty funky. Looking forward to the finished details.
  12. The redo in 2005 is considered second gen and the changes were perceived by enthusiasts as hackneyed. Especially when the vertical, retro grill was basically lopped in half and the lower part was just a horizontal gash in the bumper and the stylized running lights were replaced with boring round ones. Some didn't like the dented (splitting embryo) headlights, though I can appreciate it was consistent with the look of other Chrysler models at that time.
  13. So retro Frank. Silver with dark red interior was such a common combo back then, it looks so authentic. Nice work. Don't forget to post your photos for the call to the starting line after Dec. 1st.
  14. For purely self serving and sentimental reasons, the 1966 Pontiac Catalina wagon.
  15. Who can forget when editorial Photoshopping was first thrust into the American public discussion when Time and Newsweek ran the same OJ cover photo. However Time was accused of making OJ appear more sinister (guilty?) by darkening the dark tones. I believe this is when he was charged but had not yet been tried. I'm all in favor of color balancing and setting levels but we enter a grey area when, say, more grit is added to a rat rod photo to emotionally sway how the model is viewed, regardless of how clear the build quality is.
  16. Yes, Chrysler shot themselves in the foot revising later PT models on the cheap and essentially killing one of the most successful cars of the 2000s. I own one and I enjoy its innovations and well thought out utility. The bummer is its renown lackluster MPGs. During the summer I get about 18 in town, and a fair 25 on the highway. Worse in the winter and worse than the '96 Mustang it replaced. Heck, our family's '66 Catalina wagon got 17. I think (automatic) 2nd and 3rd gears are a little high.
  17. Yeah, the PT Cruiser is pretty ugly... NOT!
  18. This entire thread has been an education. Thanks for the photos, responses and follow up.
  19. If they're actually pinhole bubbles and not BB size bubbles, a spread of super glue works fine and sands well. Bigger than that will require 2-part fill as mentioned above.
  20. It's a rare model that is enhanced with cotton but this has to be right up there. Nicely executed.
  21. The story appears to be from Spring of 2012. Not much info but the consistent info is that he jumped a curb and hit other objects including a tree.
  22. More pics from the salvage yard. Click here.
  23. They make a great pair Jonathan. I can't decide which I like more but I'm favoring the dark one. Excellent engine work, wish I could detail that well.
  24. That single piece chassis is amazing. Proof again that clean, well detailed box stock builds and kits with low parts count can be every bit as impressive as one with aftermarket parts added. Beginners take note. This is great Tulio.
  25. This is about as nice as I've seen. Your wheel choice is excellent and makes it stand out from the rest. I love it.
