This is such a handsome car Nigel. As 80's cars go, I've always appreciated this body. Good color and all the parts you've sourced for this have come together seemlessly. This would have been great for the 2015 "Sleeperball" (which this is sort of like).

No interest in any of these '70's? Most are still reasonably affordable and the BRE 240Z Datsun, if I'm not mistaken, was used '70 to '72 and the '71 Thunderbird was little changed, if at all from '70.

22 and those were the cheap ones? That's a pretty strong catalog. So if you include the name brand Revell kits, that seems like a lot of releases for '79.

Peter, I was just looking at your pics on the finished builds thread. I'm glad you didn't tint the windows. That's a lot of greenhouse, it would be a shame to not take advantage of showing off your interior detail. ?

The PT Cruiser was literally unchanged from 2000 through 2005, which the Revell kits represent. 2006 to 2010 the only changes were under the front bumper and interior details. With some work, these snappers can be a formidable stealth Cannonballer. In 2015 I massaged an Audi R8 chassis with rear engine drive under mine.

Oh boy, 1970 is a golden year for modeling. All the big 3 have multiple kits. But I came across a sort of blown GSX version of your inspired Camaro.

You're too modest David. There's some daunting successes here. Continental kit practical? Of course not, but customizing has a long history of attention getting impracticality. Looks great and I love the optional hood positioning.

It's the Cannonball Run. Cheat. ? Maybe technically you could take a 1996 Nascar chassis (there are plenty) and put on the body of your choice... essentially doing a build like this years theme.

I knew little or nothing about this 1976 movie, but as a movie aficionado, I could already see this is a must see. Like any film touched by Roger Corman's shadow, some great budding talent is here in all their quirky first steps. Co-written by young Don Simpson, later producer of Top Gun, Days of Thunder, Beverly Hills Cop. I watched 15-minutes on YouTube before quitting so I could stream a good copy on my TV. This straight to drive-in flick is the lesser known cousin of the big name Hollywood cross country car chase movies featuring, pretty much nobody beyond David Carradine. But consider this cast of unknowns... an uncredited Sylvester Stallone cameo (pre-Rocky), Martin Scorsese (legendary director and film historian), Joe Dante (later director of The Howling, Gremlins and one segment of Twilight Zone: The Movie), Roger Corman, James Keach, Bill McKinney (Deliverance, Outlaw Josie Wales, First Blood, The Green Mile), Robert Carradine, Veronica Hamill (Hill Street Blues) and slews of other unknown faces with histories of TV guest spots. My favorite unknown is Garrit Graham (Phantom of the Paradise, Used Cars, lots of TV), whose delightfully creative, carefully executed comedy makes me laugh at anything he's in, when he chooses to do comedy. Otherwise, hey, cheesy dialogue, bad acting, paper thin plot, mid-70's TV production values and lots of Detroit eye candy and good old fashioned, real car crashes the way we used to see them. Pure popcorn.

Wish my REAL neighbors DID socialized like they do on Facebook. I'd welcome hearing about what they did the night before, what they're doing later and with whom, what they had for dinner and talk about their dog and what's on their work bench... you know, like real life human beings. I enjoy beeping my horn and waving at them. It makes them squirm.
