This came from one of my best friends earlier this year. He gave it to me as a built up and it was missing some parts and had mismatched rear wheels, etc. i took the liberty to take it apart and give it a redo a few days ago. I only have two evenings invested in this, and as you look at it, you can tell that’s the case! In fact, you probably wonder why it took me so long to build this piece of junk! It was mainly an opportunity to use up some tires and wheels annd engine that have just been languishing in my junkyard boxes. The Zinger kits came with engines that I put around 1/20 scale, but theHemi in this one was missing a valve cover. I decided tone down the size a little bit to 1/25 scale because it’s still be ridiculously big and I was able to use up a cool blown small block Chevy built up frim my junkyard. I did add the headers from Tom Daniel.Bad Medicine painted with Mirror Chrome Spaz Stix. I know the rear tires are Monogram , but I’m not sure what the rear wheels are from. Theycame from a late friend’s collection and I’m not sure what he sprayed the wheels with, but I’m guessing it was some kind of “chrome” paint . One of the front wheels was missing the outer rim so I just cut up a piece of plastic tubing that was roughly the same diameter and I painted those with chrome silver trim Model Master paint. Not really happy with the results… Heck, I’m not really happy with the results on the entire build and I’m almost embarrassed to post it here. But hopefully at least one person gets a kick out of it. The paint is Faskolor Fascescent Red applied with a brush. Future floor wax was also applied with a brush. I’ll probably give it one more coat. . I didn’t take this thing seriously …it was just a little too cool to just throw away and it gave me an opportunity to use up some parts. The body was glued to the chassis so I chose to brush paint it because I really didn’t care enough about the project to try to unglue the body. Not to mention it seemed like the original builder used some astronomically strong glue. Anyhow hopefully my next completion will be a little higher quality than this lol. Nevertheless, like I say, I hope it gives somebody a good laugh, whether they’re laughing with me or at me! -Mark

This is awesome Ron! Very nice work. One thing that always amazed me is that no one in the family got up and hid or fled. I mean that Marlin 336 rifle had to sound like a cannon in the house. It has been speculated that supernatural forces either helped suppress the noise or prevented the family from fleeing. I don’t necessarily 100% buy that but it is strange. Anyhow again stellar work and a great time of year to build this! Happy Halloween and happy building Ron.- Mark

Rich this is a well built replica of your super bad machine! I love Demons, Dusters and Darts. I bet you embarrassed a lot of big blocks with this combination.

Hakan your weathering is amazing as ncbuckeye stated. Also the more I look the more details I see. Fantastic work! -
Great work as always Ken!

Tom this is a drastic improvement! Very cool idea and very well executed. AMT and MPC had some neat drag car kits but the chassis and engines were often lackluster or just plain inaccurate. And the AMT Nova body was fiddly with those separate fenders. Again great job. -Mark

Carl it is a Jordan Playboy which was not actually produced in 1:1 as far as I know. There was a 1933 Jordan Playboy which I have attached a photo of. I don’t mean to hijack Paul’s thread and he actually posted a thread a couple years ago featuring this and other kits made by Renwal. Paul I’m sure you can tell Carl more than I can but I’ll take a quick stab. Carl I believe Chrysler designer Virgil Exner designed several old classic cars as he thought they might look if they were still made in 1966. Renwal kitted up a number of his designs. Paul can help us out as to just how many but for years I thought they did 4 of his designs but I believe it was closer to 7. I believe a couple of his designs were built in 1:1. I remember a Stutz Blackhawk It was not identical but was quite similar to the Stutz Bearcat 1966 design which was one of the Renwal kits. I believe Elvis owned a Blackhawk and Hot Wheels did a Blackhawk. Blackhawk was not produced until 4 years or so after Exner’s 1966 design. Again sorry for ransacking the thread. Hope this helps Carl and Paul I love your project. I shall follow!-Mark

Custom 60's Chevy Truck

This is seriously cool John! It definitely has that mid to late60s custom vibe. This would have been right at home on the table at the early Revell, Pactra, and MPC contests.-Mark -

I agree Claude. Tim the results are fantastic! -
I’ve been there Stuart. I always have a time with reds and yellows. If I’m being honest I still struggle with painting model cars any color and I’ve been trying for 40 years! I hope you can save it my friend. Good luck and happy building.
