  1. Front bumper and rear bumper installed. License plate painted and installed. Pic of the dash. Next is the windshield and other little emblems, wipers and gas filler. Then it’s finished. You really have to be calm putting parts on this little car. Bumpers were a nervous task , they just wanted to flip around. Not good when you have glue on them.
  2. Thank you Robert. It’s tiny and hard to assemble. I had a friend ( who since passed away) that was into 1/43. I learned a few tricks from him. Especially for assembly. Parts are soooo small. Once I had that figured out, I had a chance to build it. This is only my second 1/43. My next build is 1/12 so it will probably seem huge.😆
  3. Engine installed. Exhaust installed. Pretty detailed for a 1/43. A little more difficult to build than the 1/43 corvette. Radiator next. Building , out of box. Although I put a fan belt on. Made out of striping tape. So it still follows the IPMS rules for out of box. Now it’s not totally accurate for some of the parts, like the chrome oil pan and chrome valve covers. They are polished aluminum on the real car. Painted the distributor cap red like a Mallory not black like stock. Painted the oil filter orange like a fram. Just to have the model stand out a little. A very fun little kit.
  4. Thank you beeRS
  5. Keep up the good work! Nice !
  6. Great job, this was one mean plane. A few years ago here at the reno air races , we had 2 of them on display.
  7. Put headlamps , park lamps and grill. Starting to look like a cobra.
  8. That’s beautiful!!!!
  9. Hello Ace, just talked to a tech on the composite brake rotors. The micro cracking is ok. They watch them closely. If the cracking gets to the edge of the rotor, they replace them. If these were steel they would be replaced immediately. These were in an accident and were replaced as soon as it was returned to the mechanic’s shop. The cost was extremely expensive.
  10. Here she is interior tub in place. This is the stance of the car. This car is a little more finicky than the corvette. But a fun build.
  11. Test fitting the frame. Meaning will all 4 tires hit the ground, well there was a slight twist to the frame . Took the twist out and now she sits flat on all fours.
  12. Thank you Bruce. I find it very interesting that monogram put such effort in these kits … and it shows. The corvette I finished was one of the best model cars I have ever built. And I have built most. These are tamiya quality maybe better in some cases. I keep saying this, why they never caught on. I could understand here but Europe or Japan? These should have taken off.
  13. Hello bbowser, I have them displayed in a model room and a few in a display case in another room. I’m lucky to have a big house to put these in. As long as they are displayed right , my wife is ok with it, I have a few of these old stereo cabinets to display them. The great thing is the cases are free. One example:
  14. I really like big scale. Kind of fell into it with my friend Mark pushing me into it, and I’m glad he did. Here is a few big scale. Some 1/8. But I just built a 1/43 corvette. Weird I guess. But I thought I would give the small scale a try . The black cobra and the Ferrari P4 are 1/12. The Porsche engine is a 1/12 . The others except the little blue corvette is 1/8. These are just a few.
  15. Thank you beeRS, The wheels are photoetch from the kit. These are amazing little kits.
  16. Ace this is a cool build. You are a brave man building this model. I have an old version and when I opened the box and looked at it , I put the lid back on the box and shelved it. Your corrections are fantastic. Let me tell you guys this is probably one of the hardest around. 4 engines, a very fragile frame and a body that is not the right shape and has a heck of a time fitting it . Great work sir as I’m very , very impressed.
  17. Here is the latest update , not much just painted chassis.
  18. Thank you PappyD340
  19. Thank you Claude. The 2000 GT was the car that started me into big scale. It was given to me by the western rep for model spsce( DeAgostini) . The rest was free 1/8 scale models until I told them I had a Ferrari contract to commit to. My friend Steve took the builds over for now. I still have 6 1/8 kits to build. I needed a rest on modeling so I started a 1/43 corvette. Simple but nice out of box kit. How’s the studio doing? You still have the coolest builds. The Toyota was the NNL West poster car one year.
  20. A 1/43 monogram cobra. Just painted her
