Building a monogram 1934 duesenberg. This is not a accurate build of any car out there. Or are the colors accurate. I’m just building it to clear my head on these big kits and mfh kits. Going back to my roots. 1/24-25 kits. For example the engine has around 11 parts. My 1/24 mfh Ferrari had 19 parts just for the grill. The kit is pretty good so far. The box says 1966-72. Copyright anyways. Pretty good for a kit that old. Had to be state of the art back then. The engine is simple but builds up well. Building out of box. No extra details.

Hello, I only know automotive paints. I use Tamiya paint for interior’s and the other parts of the car. If you would like to know automotive PM me and I’ll let you know what I use. I can tell you the right preparation is most of it. Here is a black 1/8 scale black cobra, sprayed with automotive paints. I sprayed a 1/12 mfh cobra with the same paint. Won best Shelby at the Vegas IPMS nationals.

P.S. the build is not 100 percent accurate but it is close as I could get it. Still a fun build. That’s what it’s about, fun!

Unclescott58, I saw your 917 project. That’s cool. Indycals has resin tires also. My turbine car really needed them. The old mpc tires were not in the best shape. Enjoy your build. Here is a pic of my mpc turbine. Indycal decals and their resin tires.

What are the very best drag racing model kits of all time?

Thank you Tim on the information! -
I love these builds. Cool subject. My buddy Mike is into these. If you need information there is a classic indycar site on Facebook that has most of the cars in detail. I’m not a fan of Facebook but I used my wife’s account and could not get off the darn thing. So many cool cars ! I built the mpc lotus turbine of Joe Lenords car. If your decals are bad indycals has pretty much every decal for just about every indycar. I bought tires and decals from them. Have fun, I’m a fan of these kits and it’s going to be a blast!!!

I cannot stop looking at this car. I do have a question on the running boards and rear fenders, what did you use for the chrome runners.? And can we see the engine? I am building one that’s going to be a silver, blue color. It’s going to be out of box. Trying to not let my detail part of my brain get to me. Man this is beautiful, great job Terry!!!!

Fantastic job. Jay Leno’s car. The rear taillight, only one. But it’s a 1931. The 34 car was updated. This is what they were like.

Thank you Kenmojr. And yes it’s being fitted for a flathead. The first mock up was a boss 429 . But the build has changed to a flathead. Just winging it on this one. Things have changed so much from the start of the first mock up. Have to settle down and figure out a plan. The color is the problem in my brain. I wanted to go a mango pearl. But my brain says black. And my heart says maroon. I have been looking at to many hot rod journals.
