  1. Good information, Håkan. Tak!
  2. Nice looking engine. Too bad those red & yellow Ford/Caterpillar decals don't seem to exist anywhere, though. I could use some.
  3. Håkan, never having seen the actual AMT Super Boss or Bandag Bandit kits, I cannot verify what you say about them having different cabs than the AMT W923/925 kits. I can say that the photo of the actual Super Boss shows it with the 1973-82 cab (since it is a 1974 Kenworth W900, the Bandag Bandit was a 1978 with square hedlights) while the AMT W923/925 kits have the 1968-72 cab. It wouldn't surprise me if AMT used the 1968-72 cab on the Super Boss & Bandag Bandit kits back in the day. I wonder how difficult it would be to convert the hood into a stock long hood for a W900L. Probably have to steal the hood from the Revell of Germany W900/T900 kit. Does the Super Boss kit come with a long hood? It looks like the actual truck in the picture might have a long hood. The kit does come with a Detroit Diesel 12V-71TT hooked to an Allison HT-750 5-speed automatic, right?
  4. While I'm not excited about this release myself, I know that a lot of people will be. But I do wonder if this could possibly foreshadow the eventual release of the AMT Kenworth W923/W925. Time will tell.
  5. I'll be interested too see your progress as I hope to do this some day, too. So you know, Ken's Kitchen Resin has the correct engine & transmission. http://media.fotki.com/1_p,rwfrbqqrwftfwwwxbqqwdwqkwst,vi/swwkssbgbxtqffqbstkxswbggrtrr/8/158508/12365727/DSC06616-vi.jpg
  6. This might help: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm03_sept_1990_truc/ Or it just might muddy the waters a little more!
  7. This one: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/scale_auto_enthousiast/sae_2000-2004/sae_2001_12__december/ ?
  8. A DOH Millennium Falcon! Now that would be something to see.
  9. Oh, right. Duh! Have you seen these: http://www.spruemaster.com/blog/downloads/texturas/ (Yes, I know, it's in Portuguese.) They're downloadable bases. Most are in 1/72, but they should be able to be used in 1/144 if they're reduced. Well, that's the theory, anyway.
  10. Are you going to model it with the gear up or down?
  11. Interesting idea. What are you going to do about the propellers? Have you thought of these: http://www.propblur.com/
  12. Fantastic looking W900 you've got there. Very well done.
  13. I like your choice. Good luck with that evil red plastic!
  14. Looking forward to your progress on the old Mack.
  15. Nice looking Old-school West Coast Truck. I like it. I'm not totally sure, but maybe Kenworth used the 500 series for gasoline powered trucks & the 800 series for diesel power trucks. Sounds reasonable, but it's just speculation. I've noticed that they used 500 & 800- series for both the Bullnose COE & the conventional. It doesn't look like they changed the designations until they made the 900-Series conventional in the 1956 & the K100 Series COE in 1963. The W900-Series (for Wide Hood) debuted in 1962. The flat-faced COEs were called the 500-Series as well prior the the K100 introduction.
  16. Looking nice. Are you planning on thinning the resin hood a bit?
  17. Essentially this is the US Kenworth W900 kit with some Australian looking stuff & a right hand dash thrown in the box. According to some modelers on an Australian forum, this is about as far from an Australian truck as you can get.
  18. Nicely done. Great details.
  19. Excellent job on the trailer & the weathering on the steel. It looks very realistic. I think I'm putting that flooring down in my kitchen.
