  1. That looks great! I'm working on this kit right now, I hope mine comes out as good as yours. Did you use the kit decals for the blue stripes on the tires? I chickened out on those, but yours look really good, I may have to rethink that.
  2. I remember the same experience. Many tiny parts of all different colors. Still, I picked one up at a local auction last year, and I think I will give it another go at some point.

  4. Took me a while to find this, but it might work for you:
  5. That's a great video. I'm going to look for more like this, much better than watching junk TV. I enjoy seeing how anything is made, and it's great to see 21st century manufacturing in the good ol' USA. Thanks for posting it, Bill.
  6. That is awesome, Janne. I bet it does have a thousand and one stories, and a few more after they drink that case of Budweiser!
  7. Very nice! With the right backdrop that could pass for 1:1.

This kit: The paint is Testors Red with a bit of Yellow in it.
  13. Peter, I don't know if this will fit your needs, but check out https://www.micronmeters.com/ They have insulated wire down to 36 AWG, and I think there is some with high temperature insulation. I use their 32 and 34 AWG for spark plug wires.
  14. Thanks Andy! Thanks Greg! Thanks Peter!
  15. That looks great! The stripe came out nice. Is the blue paint or did you polish the kit plastic?
  16. Thanks Scott! Thanks Greg! I agree the USAF Museum is awesome. I spent two days there, could have easily spent more.
  17. Thanks Scott! Thanks John! Thanks Snake! Thanks Michael! That is a fun article.
  18. Thanks Jim! The one I had as a kid had a gray side that folded down to expose the interior. It might have been a Revell. I have also seen a Revell kit of this sub that has a cut-away hull. I think it is a bit smaller.
  19. Thanks Dave! If you enjoyed building it, that's all that matters.
  20. I picked this up at a local auction. I remember building something like this when I was a kid, and I thought it would be fun to give it another go. It was fun, especially if you enjoy painting lots of tiny details, which I sometimes do. I left off the clear hull for these photos, I will put that on and put the model on the shelf.
  21. Thanks Jim! If you're ever headed east thru Dayton, stop off and see the real thing. It's spectacular.
