Looking for a good airbrush
martinfan5 replied to planesandcars's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
This is really a loaded question, to answer the not loaded part, I would suggest the Iwata Eclipse , work horse of a A/B. Now for the loaded part, while the A/B is important, its the actual use of it and all that goes with that is just as important, you can get show winning paint jobs from cheap airbrushes just like you can from name brand expinsive air brushes. Its all about getting the right mixture ( paint to thinner ) and PSI that makes a big difference, and so does needle and tip size. -

Any Revell 70 Charger kits at HL yet?
martinfan5 replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
And your point is?, can you answer the question ?, is the 70 Charger at Hobby Lobby?, as that is the topic, not whether or not you support you LHS -
Right, I am very much partial to the Nissan Hardbody , I would of eaten that kit up like candy if it was not in that god awful 1/20th scale . To be honest, I would of pretty much got all the kits minus the Camaro kit.

D a m n 1/20th scale, and yes, I am scale bigot, so no need to point it out

Here we have the NuNu Models M6 kits, OOB using their P/E detail up set, overall, its a ok kit, its on the lines of a Fujimi kit, could of been better for sure, the fitment of a lot parts is questionable, all the windows need trimming to fit, and good luck getting the windshield in place correctly, I gave up. Now, in order to complete the kit 100% , you need to purchase the detail up set, which, I am not a fan of. The decals in my experience did not react to the decal setting solution I have on hand( Micro's and Tamiya's) I lost the P/E antenna and one of the exhaust tips, I heard it land , but the search party has not returned with good news yet. I really at some point stopped caring and just started phoning in my work, this model is not a good indication of the level in which I can build, I am not proud of how it turned out if I am to be honest.

This the break down as to what happened at JGR and why Matt is out. -

It is a money issue because the teams that wanted Matt, those teams and sponsors could not afford to pay him 8millon a year. Its pretty simple. I am not disagreeing with you that there could of been other reason like you are saying , but what is being said by our insider , its a clear case of the teams not being able to afford what Matt wants to be paid and he doesnt want to take a pay cut to keep driving. -

I know you want to believe that it was on track , and I can tell you dont want to believe me, so here, read it for yourself, this person works inside the NASCAR community, doing what, I dont know, but has worked for drivers such as Kurt Busch in the past, he is a inside source for us on a racing forum the guy is legit. You can read it for yourself here, the posters name is Allenbaba,enjoy.https://racing-forums.com/threads/the-news-we-were-all-dreading.61106/page-5 -
Martin Truex- NASCAR Champion
martinfan5 replied to mikemodeler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I am telling you for a FACT he had offers to drive for 2018 but would not accept anything less than $ 8 million per year , that was his asking price, and that is why he is not set to be driving a race car for 2018. It has zero to do with the on track incidents that took place in 2015 It has everything to do with money, this is not your old NASCAR. -

Nope, that has nothing to do with it, he had several offers for 2018 , but he wanted $ 8 million a year , and would not come down on that , so that is why he is out of a ride. -

That is why, I said and I quote "I am not taking anything away from Martin", meaning, he still had to do his part and drive the race car , and go out and win those races. Yes, it was sad to see Matt drive off into the sunset of what was most likely his last NASCAR race. -
Kevin Harvicks Mobil One Ford, Powerslide decals and ones that I printed out myself( all the Mobil One), Tamiya paint, TS26/Bright Red lowered the ride height, added fuel lines, adjustment bolts, plug wires, did the low DF spoiler, added a few of the missing roll bars and the front splitter and the dummy bumper camera pod.

Clint's Mobil One Ford , ran this at Daytona and the Homestead test, this is for that test we will say, Powerslide decals, Tamiya paint, TS26/93 lowered the ride height, added fuel lines, adjustment bolts, plug wires, did the low DF spoiler, added a few of the missing roll bars and the front splitter and the dummy bumper camera pod.

Right, Toyota is the only manufacture that supplies NASCAR teams with engines. There is only one engine builder outside of TRD that builds for Toyota and that is Triad Engines, and they provide all the engines for the not factory supported Toyota teams that run in the three top series. Roush-Yates is the only supplier of Ford Engines, and then you have Hendrick and ECR as the top two Chevy engine builders. I am not taking anything away from Martin and the FRR team, but they get a lot of support from JGR, at one point it was whole race cars, and lets forget they even get their pit crews from JGR. Lets make no mistake, with out all that help, they would not be the 2017 Champ. With all that said, I am very happy for Martin the FRR team, they did a hell of job and was the best team for 2017, they earned the Monster Energy Cup Championship. -
When she started in NASCAR, she was driving for Jr Motorsports in the Nationwide series( which gets support from HMS) she went part time in the Cup Series in 2011 driving part time for joint venture between Tommy Bladwin Racing and SHR . WHat that means is SHR was providing the cars/engines/support to Tommy Bladwin Racing for when Danica was in the car, but it was all SHR , but for the paper work on NASCAR's side, it was TBR that owned the car. You might of been talking about her entire NASCAR career, I was talking about just her Cup part .
-
What are you talking about ?, when SHR was with Chevy, all their chassis's and engines , R&D and everything else came from HMS, so for a Chevy team you dont get much better than HMS during the their time with Chevy, unless you go over to Toyota. SHR was off this year because it was the first year as Ford team, so they were not on point as they were for 2016, she is what she is, a 25th place driver, nothing more, nothing less, she had the equipment to be front runner. I am just commenting on the equipment side, not the personal side.

Nope, we just cant speak publicly about it yet, no funny handshakes or milkshakes.
