  1. Not much of a truck builder or truck expert. What is the earliest model year this kit could represent OOB?
  2. Oh, come on Carl. You mean that you didn't want your parents to buy a Banana Buggy? Those were the best part of the show.
  3. I live in the Sacramento metro area. All of the K-Marts are long gone, the closest one is in Grass Valley. The last Sears is going out of business and may already be closed. This is a metro area of 2.5MM and they couldn't stay afloat. Read up on Edward "Eddie" Lampert. It's pretty interesting.
  4. I picked it up Sunday at B&N, but haven't found the time to look at it yet.
  5. These are designed for the 1/25 MPC kit.
  6. Due to some of his posts on here, I am going to assume that his decals aren't available "the old way" right now. I have been watching his eBay store and if something comes up that I want, I will buy it. Otherwise, I am not holding my breath.
  7. The one HPI Guy built had pad printed tires, WW on one side and highlighted Firestone Supreme markings on the other.
  8. It is, it is a GLX. Doesn't take much to change it to an '84 though. Our forum member now has an eBay store: https://www.ebay.com/usr/alden.n?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 He isn't showing any GT350 decals currently, but I know he was planning on making them. There are all kinds of nice Mustang emblems of all years here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/183651171059?hash=item2ac2767af3:g:fiUAAOSw6jJcSTIj Not sure about shipping now with the pandemic. I ordered some back in 2019 and they came right away.
  9. Got poke in the arm #2 today, and while I was wandering around Walgreens waiting for the spousal unit, I picked this up. Looks very nice and was only $9.99. Needs a little Rodent-Fu but that won't take much time. When we bought the 2018 Focus (new) the dealership had a white 2012 Boss 302 on the outside showroom pad. I really like them, and they were a helluva track monster until being eclipsed by the current generation Mustangs.
  10. Mach 1 is sure low compared to the CR-V !
  11. Thanks Mike and Dave!
  12. Jim, I completely agree. My spouse is a bookaholic and we don't have the space to put everything. I have a bunch of 1/18 diecast that haven't seen the light of day for a decade or so. The detail isn't that wonderful anyway, so I don't think they would lose much if the 1/24 shrink ray hit them. Definitely some subject matter I would buy if they were 1/24.
  13. Careful, you don't want to wind up in a 1966 jail cell for trying to "pass" Series 2013 $20 bills.....
  14. Dad's brother Earl had one of these. The best part of it was that the high back bench seat headrest on the driver's side hit the horn button perfectly when passengers (grandmother) were getting into the back seat. She could never figure out who was blowing the horn.....
  15. There, I fixed that for you. ?
  16. Appears to be for mods only.
  17. Using Chrome here and I am not seeing any arrows. Oddly, the stats are only showing up for certain threads. Atlantis 2021, yes Modelhaus on eBay no for example. I am on a desktop with a 28" monitor, so it isn't really an issue. I know I would hate it on my tablet though.
  18. Folks had a 64 Galaxie 390 and a 70 Galaxie 351W when I was beginning to drive. I probably drove the 70 more because it was my dad's car and he did most of the instructing. I took my test in the 64 because it was a little smaller and easier to park. The 64 Galaxie would easily leave 100 feet of black stripe on the pavement, so it was my favorite to take out alone after I obtained my license. My school district had a fleet of semi-decrepit 70 Belvederes and 69 Fairlanes, all with 125-150k that were "government grey" ex-state cars. Spent most of my on the road time in one of the Belvederes. They were 318s, retrofitted with a passenger side brake pedal. First afternoon on the road, a girl who had never driven got the first stint behind the wheel. Being very timid, she didn't want to make an uncontrolled left turn across traffic unless there was no oncoming traffic for about a mile. There was a nice opening, and the instructor told her to "punch it" and reached over to help her with the wheel. She "punched it" and left more rubber on the pavement than one would think that a 318 would be capable of and she wasn't slowing down. My backseat mate Scott and I leaned forward and saw her foot on the brake but the engine was revving up. Instructor saved the day and shut the key off and guided the car off the road. Debbie was sobbing uncontrollably. The Belvedere ran on (dieseled) for several minutes. Scott and I popped the hood, and there was the 318 sitting in there semi-sideways with two broken engine mounts and a damaged throttle cable. Oops. Junk cars, poor maintenance. The district also had two new 1975 Corollas that I think that a local Toyota dealer either loaned or donated. The brown Corolla happened by about the time the Belvedere finally stopped running. They were short two students that afternoon, so there was room for Scott, Debbie, and I to cram into the back seat for the ride back while our instructor waited for a tow truck. Scott and I were pretty much the same build and weight and had wrestled together in Jr High and High School. We had already been in many compromising positions with each other, but now Debbie was between us, LOL. District allegedly had a manual Beetle/Super Beetle, but it always was offline for mechanical issues. My friend Jill's mom had a '73 Super Beetle that she let me drive so I was exposed to a manual. The first car I ever "drove" was a 65 Coronet that belonged to a neighbor. He allowed me to move it on the driveway, but never let me park it in his garage. This is the first guy that I mowed lawns for and thus funded my model buying budget for several years. The second car I drove is a weird story. My Jr High student government group held a carwash when I was 14. It was at a nearby service station that happened to be next door to a "watering hole". Guy rolls in with nearly new 911 and wants it washed. He looked at me and asked me to park it over in the watering hole parking lot when we were done and bring him the keys. OK, I am 14 and I told him that. He asked if I had ever driven a car. Yes. OK, "just do as I asked" he said and he gave me about three times our carwash asking price. To this day, I am not sure where the adults were that should have driven the 911 over there and given him the keys at the bar. Anyway, we did a really nice wash and dry. I hopped in and drove it 100 feet or so without stalling it, carefully parking it between the lines. I walked into the bar and gave the owner his keys back as heads swiveled. I waved to the bartender and left.
  19. Nice job! Nice enough that I just ordered one from eBay. I too had forgotten that this kit can be built stock. You guys have red and blue covered, I think I will take CD Silver or maybe Pitch Black. What paint did you use, including the seat inserts?
  20. True, but the factories were by and large closed during the first part of the pandemic so no cars were being built for months. Folks that had been relying on rideshare or public transportation were suddenly buying cars to go to work in. Folks working at home with too much time and money were plotting their next SUV purchase since flying anywhere was out. We bought up all the unused chips in our new bigscreen TVs, gaming consoles, computers, monitors, ovens and ranges for our newly remodeled kitchens, etc. There is also supposed to be somewhat of a rubber shortage going right now as well. Hertz was in the midst of a bankruptcy and was selling off cars anyway, never mind the travel market was also evaporating. Did a little online car shopping today myself and noticed everything was advertised at MSRP, no dealer discounts or factory incentives on what I was looking at. Kind of a perfect storm. I think economics students will be studying this for many years to come.
