  1. It's funny this has come up now. I was in the dollar store a couple of days ago and found they had rolls of aluminum tape for a buck. To my surprise it is about the same thickness as BMF. I did a quick test on a piece of plastic and it burneshed down nicely. There is way more in the roll than one gets in a single sheet of BMF and of course a buck is a great deal. Keep your eyes open the next time you are in a dollar store.
  2. I love the 2 tone paint on this one Bill. The weathering on the chassis looks very realistic. My 1:1 looks almost the same except it is a 2004.
  3. I like the color as well. Looks like your down to adding a few details and you can wrap up this one.
  4. Hi Brett, that looks really cool.
  5. Ya, I think I saw every episode. I wish I had recorded them when they were on. I would imagine they will come back in due time as most sitcoms do.
  6. So what is a Camero Z-28 then?
  7. Man, I miss that show. I wish it was still on around here. On of my favorite lines from the show was when he was choked at his receptionist and said: "Linda, I am going to kill you, and then I am going to use my powers as a doctor to bring you back to life so I can kill you again." Great show!
  8. Cmon by anytime my friend.
  9. I wish I could. lol I am looking forward to the game as well. Beer is chilled, wings are cut and ready to go, chili is ready for the hot dogs. Gonna be a barn burner.
  10. Great work Scott. Now I really want to try some resin molding. What time should we get to your place for the superbowl party?
  11. I haven't used them but I have seen some of their stuff. http://phoenixtoys.com/shop/index.php?route=product/category&path=35_45 Love the operating lift and engine hoist.
  12. I look at a clean build as a model that looks like a real car. That being said, it can be weathered and rusty but still be classified as a clean build. When I see glue running down the windshield, finger prints in the paint, runs in the paint, decals all over the place (really any of my builds) then I don't classify it as a clean build. So doc, your builds are also clean IMHO. Rob
  13. Welcome to the club Rob. He normally sells his decals on ebay but I don't see anything there. He does have an email address you could try. mofobow@hotmail.com Let me know if you connect with him Rob
  14. I think your wagon looks awesome!
  15. Funny ad. What they don't show is Dave in his F-350 coming to the rescue after the Chevys are burried in Frogs. Enjoy the Twinkies boys.
  16. Thanks for the idea of jack stands Doc. I am going to make some of those this weekend. I have seen them used in magazines before and have been looking for them for years. All along I could've just made them myself. Great thread. I look forward to seeing more projects like the jack stands.
  17. Looks cool. I have one of those kits, geeze I better check and see if the dirt bikes are in it.
  18. I would stick to a Revell/Monogram kit. One of my favorite kits to build is the Revell 70 Mustang kit. Fairly easy kit to find and build.
  19. Wow, that is just really sad news to hear. There will be a hole to fill in our hobby now.
  20. I would 2nd your idea Doc. I haven't built a rusted ride yet but I have admired the detail and effort people have put into them. One day I'll give it a try. Rob
  21. Bartster, glad to hear you didn't or would not smack puppy around. As a dog owner I to have been frustrated and have lost many beloved possessions to the jaws of my dog. I once had a dog who had a fetish for remote controls. Again I blame myself for leaving them in reach of the dog but I have to say I had to use Frank Costanza's method to relax on several occasions. SERENITY NOW! I have also noticed that dogs seem to find trouble when they are bored. Even more so with a puppy if they don't get lots of exercise they look to entertain themselves by chewing up whatever they can to get our attention.
  22. Welcome back to the hobby Stephen. You have found the best resource right here for inspiration, tips & tricks, and some great conversation.
  23. There isn't very much I put before my models. But my dog is one I do. I have never and would never hit my dog for doing something I am to blame for. Face it, if it is in reach of the dog, then you are to blame.
  24. I agree, I glue body parts on as well. I glued the rear wings on my McDonalds funny car with it. It sets up very fast and does not damage the paint. I have also used it to glue mirrors, bumpers, and anything that needs to touch the paint.
